In the past ECCO shoes have always fit me just fine. With these Turn GTX shoes (made in Indonesia) I could see that they were too small even before I took them out of the box. I used to wear the Fusion II and was happy with them for years except that the toe seam would often wear and break prematurely. Those shoes were made in Portugal. I recently bought a pair of ECCO Aurora Ties, made in Slovakia. They fit pretty well but seemed a little wide. After two weeks one of the leather shoe laces broke and not long after that the leather tore just above the welt. I returned them to Zappos and bought the pair of Turn GTX Plain Toe Ties thinking that if I spent more than twice as much money as I did for the Aurora Ties that I would be in good shape. Oh well, so much for that idea. I am starting to loose my confidence in ECCO. Zappos' free shipping and easy return policy is all that is allowing me to give ECCO one more try and reorder that shoe in the next larger size. Perhaps ECCO's quality control is stretched a little thin trying to oversee so many factories in so many different countries. After rereading this review I am already having second thoughts about why I clicked the "submit order" button on this last order.

WARNING: Buy 1 size larger than you think you need. I bought my usual size and I could barely fit my big toe into it; I was like Cinderella's stepsister trying on her glass slipper. Even the next size larger is STILL too small; length is better now but it's still too narrow. (I'm a medium width). Plus, Ecco laces their shoes in a ridiculous way that's more random than a page of Youtube search results. Hope you like unlacing and relacing shoes.

This is a nice looking shoe and if I had really small feet it would have worked but it is really narrow and felt about a 1/2 size smaller in the length. It was narrow enough that it was hurting and I had concerns the side would actually come undone if I tried to keep and wear them.
