I bought a pair of these over a year ago. I added arch supporters and they were almost perfect for my use, hiking and walking.. The negative issue was that they were not comfortable going up hill. Lace tightening or break in solved that and they became wonderful. The really good aspects were: comfortable cushioning eliminating the pain of plantar fasciitis in my heels; water-proofing; and total foot and ankle support. After a winters constant use I discovered water inside the boots I found slight openings at seams between sole and sides and put some shoe goo around all seams. This stopped leakage but doesn't look so good. I wear these in snow that is as high as the boot tops and they stay dry.
As I planned a trip to cities where there would be a lot of walking, I wanted these to be the only footwear I brought. By this time the constant use and the shoe goo had degraded the beauty of the uppers, which for outdoor shoes had fared remarkably well. So I bought a new pair for travel.
I did not give the highest rating for style because I wear there everywhere and as an old lady I think the bright orange accents are not so appropriate. Has to change the laces to modest black ones too.

Really squishy and comfortable for the bottom of the foot, but the very top of the shoe curves in a little (the very, very tip-top, the pink ring around the hightop part), so for the first few times I wore them, the top of the shoe cut into my leg and rubbed. It wasn't especially noticeable at first, but became so when it rubbed the skin off and I had to use bandaids. I began trying to push the top out a little to stretch it, and I seemed to adjust as well, so now it doesn't do that any longer. All in all, very comfortable. Big - which is cute and sort of cool. They're also very bright and don't really match with many things, but there's a less bright version of the same shoe available if you'd prefer.

I freaking love these hiking boots. Not nearly as much support as rigid hiking boots, but I didn't want that. I wanted to hike in my Hokas, but something that would stop me from falling off them and twisting my ankle on uneven ground. These are great. Same feel as the Clifton, but better for hiking (and my feet stay cleaner)!

I love these shoes! When I first looked at them I thought "no way would I spend that kind of money on a tennis shoe" WRONG!! It is extremely comfortable right out of the box, true to size,I wear an 8, with enough wiggle room for my toes and a good sock. If you have any issues with your back or knees I would definitely give this shoe a try. I even bought them in the other colors as they are that comfortable and offer great ankle support for a long day on your feet. Also, they are ultra light, weighing about the same as a runner's shoe. Enjoy!

These appear to be comfortable hiking boots but I had to return them because they runs half a size too big. I ordinarily wear a size 10½ and had to return them for a size 10.

These hiking boots are the cream of the crop. Comfy, lightweight, super-supportive, tons of traction and they keep my feet dry, too! I cannot recommend them enough for treks long and short. Easy five stars.

I bought these for hiking in snow. They are warm, dry, and comfortable right out of the box. I also have the Hoka running shoes and like the beefier shock absorbing soles.

I bough Fog Green/Olive Hoka. Green Hoka runs 1/2 a size smaller, I normally wear EU 38 but I had to get 39 1/3. I have also Dark Plum Hoka and they are true to the size, EU 38 fits perfect. They are light, comfortable, supportive, the cushion is great and the traction is great also.

These boots exceeded expectations. Highly recommended! I foolishly bought them a day before a week long backpacking tour, and wholly expected terrible blisters. Didn't get a single one. These required no breaking in, and were incredibly comfortable the whole trip. I have an extremely narrow foot, but found that with custom insoles, thick socks, and well laced boots I was fine. Honestly, only thing that took getting used to were how comfortable these were. Really great ankle support, and I was the only one on the trip who had dry feet after 8 days of hiking through rain, snow, and rivers.

So comfortable. True to size. Great lift. Light. A bit too high around the ankle but I have got used to that. Funky pink color. Lots of positive comments

WOW! Crispy rocks! I just phoned Zappos to state that these boots(wonderful) are now half price at a local sporting goods store here in Park City Utah. CRISPY credited me for half the price of the boots! (One time courtesy, extremely thankful!) Zaps is great! They stand by their products, and their customers! Thank you Zappos, and Crispy!

I like these boots, but a week or two after I ordered them, I saw them half price at a local outdoor sporting goods store. Bummer. Wish Zappos price matched..

I never write reviews and I never spend this much on shoes. But I have plantar fasciitis, post-tiboral tendonitis, flat feet, and weak ankles...and these are the most wonderful things I've ever had on my feet. They have great arch support, are lightweight, and make me want to walk and hike. Maybe even run.

These are fantastic hiking boot. I am a true Hoka One One fan - this is my third pair. I have multiple foot problems and these shoes make my feet comfortable, keep my joints protected, support my arches, cushion each step and allow me to walk as far and long as I want! I add my custom orthotics to get extra arch support and that makes the fit perfect for me with cushiony socks. I also think these look super cool - which is a plus! I am back today for a fourth pair of Hokas. Three cheers! I hope more companies follow in your footsteps to create comfortable, healthy footwear.

These boots are wonderful. I walk dogs for a living and was looking for waterproof boots which offered support and comfort but were light to wear. I've never tried this brand before but am so glad I did. No break in time and I've been out in them working all week. I feel like I'm walking on a cloud.

Used this shoe to walk five miles in wet conditions right out of the box. No discomfort, and warm dry feet. I usually am an 8 in most shoes, and I ordered an 8 in these as well. Since I will be wearing a bit heavier sock, the fit was perfect. These shoes provide support and cushion. In the summer I was wearing another HOKA shoe but I am glad they offer this wonderful boot for winter wear. The pink color is divine, I think it brightens the gloomy winter days ahead.

Really love these shoes! I normally wear an 8 in Hokas, but the plum 7.5 fits great. Surprisingly light and the cushioning is terrific. I'm a walker, not a runner, and primarily wear them to walk dogs in wet grass and when I elliptical (they keep my ankle and heel well supported and have reduced Achilles tendonitis flare-ups). Trade them off and on with my Stinsons when my Morton's neuroma is an issue. I have a wide foot and the toe box is roomy. Like the subtle "HOKA" down the heel.

Whoever designed these shoes knew what they were about. The strong and laces go through eyelets rather than through loops that invariably break away over time. What's more the laces are somewhat sticky and go from the tip of the toe to the very top of the boot, allowing for a secure and comfortable custom fit. Not only that, but the real innovation, the best of all in the design of this walking boot is the synthetic tongue that goes the length of the shoe allowing for flaps of leather with eyelets and thus assuring an even better custom fit. The ankle support is soft and secure. The cushioning is superb. And while I am not vain, the styling is terrific. Whoever did the design should be applauded, especially by those of us with old bones and sore muscles. Thanks Hoka.

I am a foot and ankle physical therapist and I love these shoes for my patients and I love them for me. When I first switched to Hokas I cut two minutes off of my usual route. Now they come in high tops for even more uses! As a professional I think it is better to use shock absorption in order to decrease wear and tear on the body - which you get through Hoka. I believe that barefoot running is a poor way to strengthen the muscles of the foot because of the high impact on all of the joints of the body Hoka is the intelligent choice.

I bought these boots because of an ankle problem. I have OCD of the talus following a very bad ankle sprain which has resulted in 2 surgeries. The future is more surgeries, etc. I was and am currently wearing the Hoka Clifton2 and most of the time I am pain free. Yesterday, I experienced pain in the front of my ankle that stopped me in my tracks! This was a new horrific pain! Today I took out my new Hoka Tor Ultra Hi boots and started walking about. I have had them on about 7 hours and have been pain free for the last 7 hours! Will be buying another pair!

My knees can't handle the road anymore. I started using the regular hokas and love them, but I was concern about the sole's height and running on the trails (broken ankle). I bought the Hoka one one tor ultra hi wp and love the look. On the trail they performed great. I didn't noticed any significant weight increased and ankle support was excellent. Arch support was moderate. You can use thin or medium socks with these. I notice my foot getting a bit hot during the run but not enough to affect my comfort. Overall I am very pleased with my knee running boots.

On average, most of my hiking boots are a size 9 and my dress/casual shoes are 8.5. In these the 8.5 was plenty big with room to spare for descents. They are big looking shoes, but had that incredible underfoot comfort you would expect. Colorful even in the black/flame, unique, seems to have good traction and a well-thought out design. My problem was even when just wearing them around the house, I felt my foot was pronating and there is just not enough support on the sides with the nubuck material to correct it. I was worried I could turn my ankle with the combination of pronation and such a thick sole. I ended up keeping the Tor Summit WP instead which was a nice compromise. I need a cushy ride as I have ball of foot pain. Hope this brand helps me to happily hike long miles.
