Don't know what the name means, however, it is a great boot. I walk a lot at work as I am a construction inspector, these are sure footed, good lugs on the sole for traction, and a great fit.

Would like to see product in all leather upper for more ankle support. I purchased the Hi Top for this reason, to prevent ankle roll on unstable terrain.

Comfortable right out of the box

Please don't stop making them in black! They're becoming widely popular with law enforcement and are wonderful for being on your feet all day. Black however is the only color our profession allows! Please rethink discontinuing them in all black

I spend most of my workday walking that line that tries to keep smugglers out of our country and once in a while "might" need to chase after someone. Just need to say that your product has saved my career. I've been wearing (combat) boots since 1991 when at seventeen I joined the military. And yes, I have tried most of the brands out there; none come even close to your product. It's weight, stability, grip, comfort, comfort, comfort, comfort, looks are incomparable. The Vibram outsole sticks to the ground like glue; a plus when scuffling with bandits, however the fact that maybe, to save some weight it does not cover the totality of the contact surface, area it has become an issue when at only the seventh month mark it began separating. Should mention that I will continue purchasing your product, however at $$$ I would like to get more out of such a monetary investment. The second and saddest part of the review is that I will now have to begin searching for a different product due to the fact that Hoka has decided not to continue with the all black boot in this line.

Primarily for hiking. They're my go to pair

Exceptional. With various foot problems and surgeries, I tried four hiking boots from other companies, none of which worked. These allowed me not to dread walking and hiking! After a couple of weeks walking and hiking in New Zealand, as well as on flatter, paved trails, they remain eminently comfortable. If one does not prefer a cushy feel (referred to here as "plush," perhaps not your shoe. Have found nothing so far in the negative!

Excellent period

Great balance of features in a trail shoe. Will replace my Inov-8 400's, worth it for the added protection.

After having S1-L5-L4-L3-L2 fused together from a recent accident, I am glad to say these shoes were recommended to me from a former Air Force medic (VA Medical Center nurse now) during my recovery. I have to say EVERY step I take is a pure blessing, but with the HOKA ONE ONE TOR Ultra Hi WP's on my feet it's as if I'm walking on pillows with ankle support! I look forward to recovering more and more everyday, thanks to these shoes and the recommendation from a friend!

At first they're hard to get used to but once I have broken in good ankle support the third day I use them there were very comfortable I would buy another pair of them whenever I wear these out.

The HOKA ONE ONE Tor Ultra WP are very good hiking/walking boots. They are very well made, are easy to put on and take off, and are light as a feather. The lining and insoles are sm ooth as silk against your feet. The VIBRAM soles are state of the art; good grip, yet not clunky in any way. You can't go wrong with these HOKA ONE ONES shoes. They are the greatest!

I'm a security officer and wear these boots to work. I've been looking to buy another pair, but they're becoming very hard to find in the oxford tan. Is that color being discontinued?

I have very bad feet and a bum knee. I also wear orthotics. My pedorthist approved of these boots for me and I absolutely love them. I wear them 99% or the time for all activities, even running errands. They accommodate my orthotics and are super comfortable. If I can get a couple more months out of them they will be 2 yrs old. I have never been able to wear a pair of shoes/boots that long. They are incredible in every sense of the word, and I am on my feet a whole lot. I even wear they on my elleptical trainer. Great ankle support which helps my knee.

Using Speedgoat's for my daily runners, however for Saskatchewan Canada's harsh winters I decided to try these for winter running. They feel slightly flatter than the speedgoat and fit a little larger, but overall I don't think they can be beat. completely waterproof lower boot keeps the snow out and the heat in, no need for bulky wool socks, these things are great! only close call I've had with traction was crossing an intersection of sheer ice.

I started doing more hiking in the Sierra's and other trails. I tried on many of the top rated brand hiking boots but even though I read many good reviews I just couldn't find a fit that I loved. Mostly the other brands felt either too heavy, too stiff or both. I guess coming from a running background I valued a light feel. The Hokas feel light and comfortable but still with great cushion. I've been hiking in them a few months now and they are holding up great. I can't find my size to purchase a second pair now so I'm worried they will discontinue them. Please Hoka no! Best hiking shoes ever!
