I love the way they look. I've put them on several times and the left boot is great but the right one rubs my little toe so bad that I've never made it out of the house in them! I own several pairs of Fryes and I've had this problem with another pair. They have sat in my closet for three years now. I love this pair and hope I can figure out something to make it fit comfortably. There seems to be a lot of sizing inconsistencies with Frye. Too much to pay for something that stays in the box! I had planned to buy the black in these too but I quickly changed my mind!

These are so beautiful as well as comfortable. I was so happy with my purchase until some of the stitching started coming apart after a month. I had only worn them out about 5 times.

Ordered this boot a few months ago, design included a nice wood heal and quality leather upper. Unfortunately, I needed a different size and they were out of stock. Just reordered, and the boot is very different. Leather is all wrinkled and scratched, and the heal is solid black, not as classy and rich looking.

I ordered these in black. They arrived with a pure black sole/heel. Looks like they discontinued the pretty brown sole/heel. For some reason the black on black combo in these looks really cheap. Soooo bummed... Hoping they bring back the brown heel.

I love everything about these shoes, how they look, fit, etc. however something in the arch makes the shoes make this loud clicking sound. I bought 2 pairs, 1 black pair and then 1 brown pair. And they both did the same thing. Not immediately, but within months and as they got worn in. I replaced one pair and the sound wasn't on the new pair and then yea it came. It's like a clicking in the arch to the heal underneath the boot. It's loud when inside in an office is where it became most annoying. I am described by my friends as a Frye loyalist, I've bought maybe 10 pairs throughout the past 15 years & I'll keep buying - this is the worst quality I've encountered and my guess is just the heal. They can't figure out how to construct the heal.

I bought this boot a year ago and have been trying to make it work ever since especially considering how expensive they are. I would not recommend this boot at all! My foot slides in the boot yet it squeezes the top of my foot. The inside is the boot is as hard as the outside still to this day. I would recommend if you buy this shoe to also buy inserts. I'm 30 years old and wear high heels, flats etc with no inserts but these are extremely hard! Not worth the money!

I was so sad to return these. The shaft looked and felt like someone stuffed a softball in it, making it way too wide my heel would slip out when I walked. Very sad, cause they were beautiful! Looking at the picture it looks like how the shoe was when I got it so I didn't reorder - I think they might all be like that. I'm between a 6.5 and 7, normally always a 7 in anything that requires a sock but I am a solid 6.5 in Frye's. They run a tad large in my opinion.

I bought these boots about a year and a half ago and I have bought Fryes in the past and they hadn't stretched out but these boots absolutely did. Worn maybe 4 times due to the fact with the stretch they no longer fit& I get that it has been over a year I have had these boots but for the price they should last for longer then 18 months. I am very disapointed. And want you to take this into consideration before wasting money on a boot that doesn't last for more then two years.

I bought these knowing they (like my other Frye boots) would undoubtedly last me a lifetime and be one of my go-to/most comfortable pairs of amazing boots. When they arrived, I slipped them on--and they felt GREAT! Beautiful, rugged, stylish pillows for my footsies. Within the first hour, I realized the back of the left lower shin was hitting the back of my leg with every step. By the end of the work day, I had a bloody blister. No worries! I thought--they must need to be broken in! The next wearing (on soft office floor space), and the problem became worse and worse. There seemed to be something defective in the way the back of the boot and the pull tab were constructed. The pull tab hits my foot on only the left side; so I know this is not a feature of this amazing boot! I have returned the pair for an equal exchange---I love these enough to try again. They are gorgeous and definitely warrant a level of comfort that one can trust and rely on.
