In which I inform you, the reader, of a couple facts you ought to know before you buy...#1. The shoes do not tie. The laces are too short to tie in traditional fashion. Instead, Converse built these with a slip-on-esque elastic band that holds the tongue firmly against your foot. I would actually enjoy this if the aesthetic of loose shoelaces didn't seem childish to me, and if it did not make the shoes difficult to put on. #2. They're very well padded. Like a little too well padded. As soon as I put them on, my roommate remarked that they make my ankles look fat ("psh, nah...but do they really?"). The tongue also appears to bulge when worn, straining the laces while the whole shoe squeezed my foot. I would think to size up, but the footbed fit perfectly, and I'm terrified of that clown-shoe effect you get from oversized Chucks. What did they do right? Mid-height ankle-padded Chucks could be very cool with less all-over padding. In the end, I returned them. 3 stars because they're almost really cool. Less skate-shoe padding and longer laces next time, please.

The quality of Converse Chuck Taylors has diminished DRAMATICALLY. These shoes are over a year old, but they're worn maybe once a week, because I have several other pairs of tennis shoes and I rotate wearing them. The uppers are just to the point where I like them, the laces are fine, the soles show some wear but aren't worn through, but - like other pairs I have - the sole starts to separate from the shoe because they were half-hazardly glued together. This isn't wear. This is workmanship, and it's very disappointing, considering the long history of this brand.

This shoe is a lot more comfortable than the regular Chuck Taylor. Looks good with jeans or shorts. The shoe strings are rather short.

I love these shoes SO much, except for 1 thing: the heel rubs pretty bad. I tried giving them a few tries to break them in more but not getting any better. (A bandaid or socks would definitely work). Otherwise they are great & look good with a variety of outfits. I’m at women’s 7.5 & they fit great.

I needed a simple pair of white shoes and I wanted a little more ankle support so I opted for these and they were worth it! Didn't take too long to break in, however the back padding on the ankle took a little bit longer to soften up (scratched heavily against the skin)

These shoes have unexpectedly good padding on the soles and ankles - still comfy after a long walk after a full day. Closer to Sperrys than Keds in that respect. The laces are too short to tie for some reason, but there is elastic connecting the tongue to the shoe, so the laces are mostly decorative anyway. The elastic makes them a bit hard to pull on, but once I got my feet in, they were comfortable. I normally wear wide sized shoes, but they stretched to fit. I like the mid-rise: looks like a high-top, without the ankle restriction and excessive lacing.

These shoes are beautiful, but not very comfortable to wear longer than an hour. The whole elastic with no tie lace design is cute, but it puts a strain on the entire front of the foot. Also, DO NOT wear ankle socks with these... shoe just rubs up against the back of your ankle if you do. If you wear thick socks, it kind of amplifies the strain on the front of your foot. So kind of a no win situation, unless you buy shoes a half size bigger. Not my solution, as I don't like big clunky shoes. The toe of converse shoes in general are pretty slim, so it can get pretty uncomfortable if you're walking a lot.

Very poor quality. Sole began to separate from the canvas right away and now the whole sole has let loose causing it to flop by the toes. Never had shoes fall apart like these.

God really?! The sizing on the converse's is really weird. Also these fit like a full size smaller than I expected, and I ordered a half size up but it was still too tight. They seemed really narrow too and I am a medium width in everything so that was weird. Overall fail. Also the shoe looks weird, there's a bulge near the ankle when you wear them, so yeah just odd :/

Different then regular Chucks. The mid top makes it to where it’s cool to wear with shorts and jeans and still look cool.

Chucks are the only 9.5 size shoe in my closet. All my other shoes are 10 or 10.5. The 9.5 fit like a glove.

I just purchased my 3rd pair! I wear them so much, I run through them every year and a half.

Love these shoes! A little tight at first because of the padding, but once I broke them in they were fine. Super cute on my foot too, so much do I'm about to buy another pair.

I absolutely love these sneakers! They are incredibly cute. They are a tad tight with the outer sides of my toes but nothing a shoe stretcher can't take care of (I have a wider toe span post pregnancy). I love the shorter lace and was surprised how easy these are to slip on and off.

very comfortable and i went a half size smaller because of the reviews and I'm glad i did like they said u can't tie them but u probably can if u buy longer laces i would buy them again

I am loving these shoes! It is true that the laces are not meant to tie. I actually like that bc I can slip them on fairly easily. There is comfy padding around the ankle and overall the shoes are surprisingly comfortable. I like the sort of mid-height of them-so they are not true high top. The overall appearance of them is a relaxed and slouchy in a good way. They are very cute. I am very pleased! I ordered a half-size down and the fit was perfect.

Very cool shoes! The low tops and high tops both are just not for me but when I saw these mid tops I had to have a pair. I also like that the collar and tongue are padded. Looks good and adds comfort. Chucks run big so I had to order a half size smaller.

As someone who likes the aesthetics of the Chuck Taylor shoes, but hated the lack of padding in the normal shoe, these shoes are the perfect compromise! The ankle padding is nice and cushy and the cushion for the bottom of the feet feel really comfortable. I also like the canvas fabric that covers the majority of the shoe because it's really easy to clean!

The sizing is the same as the original chuck taylor. Size down a half or even a whole size. I sized down a half size bc I wasn’t sure. Could have definitely sized down the whole size after trying them on but the half size down still fits great without looking like clown shoes. Feels the same as the originals minus the cushioned tongue and ankle. Although, the tongue and ankle padding doesn’t feel as extreme as some of these reviews are portraying. They’re definitely made to slip on and off which I don’t hate. A bit difficult to get on at first but I’m sure it will get easier as the elastic tongue breaks in.

Very cute. Rub a bit on the back of my heel but will get better as it softens.

Received these in the mail today and SO bummed out they don’t fit. I usually wear a 6.5 Mens in Converse Chuck Taylors, but this style specifically is definitely not measured the same. These feel atleast 1/2 size to a full size too small and it’s probably because of all the padding. Would have been nice if that was noted on the description for regular Chuck wearers.

I've had a handful of the Converse Chuck Taylors in my life so far - the classic all star low tops, hi tops and the ox. This pair, however, didn't fit like all the pairs I've had before. It sounded and looked comfy from all the previous reviews I've read and from the photos I've seen. But the extra padding that in this version of Converse made the shoe feel tighter on my foot. I should have gotten the shoe in a half size larger than usual, then maybe the shoe would have felt more comfortable.

These are really cute but if you wear them all day feet start to hurt. They rubbed in the wrong places. Not enough cushion. But for a short day I don’t mind.
