Coat needs to be ordered one size smaller. Very roomy. Clasp at wrist could be tighter, not enough snaps to get it tighter. Hood is a joke, took that off right away. I will never use it. Could use more inner pockets. I would love to design the perfect coat. Overall good, just not perfect. Sale price you cant beat.

Overall very happy with the coat. Numerous pockets are excellent. Very good in cold and wet conditions. I have received a several complements on its look as well. I do have two complaints/recommendations to improve it: 1) The hood is very large and comes down over your eyes regardless of how you adjust it. I'm now wearing a ball cap to keep it up so it doesn't cover my eyes. A simple adjustable strap on the top back of hood is all that would be needed to fix this. 2) The jacket is longer than many, that is a really good thing, but sitting down or in the car it bunches up a lot. A dual zipper that can open from the bottom would fix that. These two fixes would make this the perfect coat. With that said, I still think it is very good and recommend it as is.

Its a great jacket for country work and urban use. Comfortable and enough warm for a moderate winter.

3 stars, maybe less. Warm, mostly wind and rain proof, and solid construction of shell & liner. Lots of pockets closed with zippers or velcro. BUT the shell has no elastic sleeve cuffs for draft and snow protection. The adjustment strap at the wrist is not sufficient. AND the hood volume is spectacularly LARGE (maybe great for those requiring a ski helmet?). Regrettably, there is NO HOOD VOLUME ADJUSTMENT and the hood is NOT removable so you can't easily replace it with a better one. It constantly blows back, off your head unless the hood draw strings are severely tightened, which drastically lowers the top of the opening, pulling the hood down over your eyes, severely reducing vision out of the hood. Also the hood has no OmniGuard or ANY other insulation, just a simple fabric liner. Very disappointing in a top-of-line coat.

the coat is not as warm as advertised and the bottom is much tighter than it should be. It fits well on the shoulder and arms but if it is zipped it is difficult to sit down.

The jacket is good enough, except that the cuffs only have two short adjustments as snaps. They should have used Velcro to accommodate different sized wrists or start making custom jackets (ya right). Also bought in spring as they began to throw them away at dumpster prices.

I like the quality of the jacket good features & well made & it is waterproof but, it isn't as warm as I thought it would be given the name "OmniHeat" It is a mid weight for temps in the 40's F& not much less than that!!

I usually wear size 33 pants but this jacket is really large such that the base goes all the way to the middle of my thighs even though I ordered medium which I expect to fit well. I am 1.72m tall and weigh 67kg but this is really large on me.

Living in the northwest, when you purchase a jacket that claims to be waterproof, you need it to withstand a lot of rain. This was not the case with this jacket. Water soaked into the exterior of the jacket within a few minutes of being in the rain. It was a good jacket for cold weather though. Do not buy for waterproof aspects

Oversized fit both in length and circumference. I'm a medium in everything and was swimming in a medium.

Bought one of these jackets last year for half price on sale and found it not to be worth half of that. I nearly froze the first time I wore it to a grandson's hockey game & at other times when worn it was no better. Today at another indoor hockey game in Central new York it was adequate but not what I would call warm. This evening after taking the dog out for a few minutes in 30 degree temperatures I came in chilled. Having worked for over 35 years on power lines in the Adirondacks at times when it was 20 or 30 and more below zero I am familiar with what is and is not warm. It does look ok therefore the three stars, I suspect The good will people will be happy to get it.

So I was lookin for a new warm jacket with high expectations with having a Eddie Bauer and special blend coats. Took it up to Estes Park and boy was I let down, even with a long underwear shirt, Columbia titanium fleece, omni heat neck gaiter and this jacket I was still shivering. Not good for high winds at all and totally not worth the price, definitely gonna try and return it if they'll take it back.

Jacket performs as expected. In my opinion the Omni-heat product is the best of the best. The only feature that is of poor design is the hood. I cannot put the hood on my head and see because it has no structure. It just falls over your head and covers your face, even using the drawstrings is no help. Great company, great products but look at other jackets besides this one if you need a hood.

Very nice quality but it was way to big for a size small. Wish it could of been more of a fit.

I bought this jacket in XL and I was surprised by how big it is compared to other Columbia jackets. The outer jacket runs very large while the inner layer runs true to size, which makes it a shame. If I had bought a large, I don't think the inner layer would fit properly. Another issue I had with the jacket was that only the inner layer has the Omni Heat material. It would have made more sense to put the Omni Heat material on the outer layer because then you could wear that individually on cold days. Instead, the outer layer feels like a rain coat (thin and material wise). Lastly, the wrist holes are huge! The buttons that Columbia places to make the hole bigger or smaller does not really make much of a difference. Other than those issues, the jacket is great. There's six large pockets on the outer layer in the front (4 zipped and 2 buttoned), the inner layer has two large pockets (unzipped, unbuttoned), and the material is great. When both layers are worn together, I can see how this jacket would be very warm. The Colligate Navy is also pretty identical to what is shown on the website. I would recommend this product but try it on in the store to get the best fit or else get a size down. Also, my review says it was incentivized but I received no incentives for this review. Not sure why it says that.

Not as expected. It doesnt work properly below 20F. It says is the warmest jacket from Columbia but it does not. Not even think to purchase it if you are reaching 0F.

I bought this jacket thinking it would be a nice 3-1. Unfortunately it is being returned. Very cold even when wearing a thick pullover with it.

Purchased new men's Horizon jacket in November 2021 and the jacket was not like the one I purchased 10 years ago. Not only was the liner thinner and much colder than the old one which I still have, it had no very handy Side Pockets zippers to secure items also as did my old one. Quality has gone downhill.
