This handbag is very pretty and has two nice size pockets on the exterior with magnetic close and two interior pockets and a zippered pocket. So, plenty of room for wallets, makeup bag and other things. I would say this bag is medium, not too small and not too big. The only thing I would change is I wish the interior slip pockets were a little larger to fit my cell phone into. Over all I like my purchase and I looked a long time before deciding on this one.

This is a wonderful purse: it holds a wallet, iPad, hand lotion, bottle of water plus lots of other small things. And still remains lightweight. The color is amazing, shiny black with a brown handle and two outside pockets. I've had compliments already!

I am keeping this bag because it is the perfect size and shape, and I love the leather. My only complaint is the strap handle. Why would you make such a beautiful bag and then finish it with such an inferior strap handle?? The cut of leather is SO THIN, it will most definitely break/wear out before the bag itself does. I took it to a leather shop in town to make sure they would be able to replace it before I decided to buy this. The bag itself is awesome--just fix the strap!

This is a great everyday, grab and go bag for me. I ordered the color "Graphite" which is a medium to dark gray and the color goes well with almost every outfit I have. The bag is very light-weight and contains two large exterior pockets with magnetic closures for items I need to get a hold of right away like my phone, lipbalm and keys. In the main zippered compartment, I can fit my Ipad, LV Zippy wallet, accessory/makeup pouch and sunglasses case with room to spare for a small bottle of water. Has a couple more slip pockets and one zippered pocket inside as well to keep things organized. Size is perfect, style is minimalist with some structure and comes with an adjustable strap which stays on my shoulder and doesn't slip off. Overall very happy with my purchase. So disappointed in this purse. I ordered the Deep Plum color and it's gorgeous BUT as other reveiwers have mentioned, the handle is a very cheap cut of leather. It's so flimsy and fake looking, if it didn't smell like leather I would think it was some sort of vinyl. Aside from the really poor quality handle, the bag itself is pretty with all the usual awesome inside pockets that Hobo bags are known for, however, the external magnetized pockets don't even fit my Galaxy 10+ phone. If I put the phone sideways it's such a tight fit that it gets stuck in the lining and I can barely get it out, and if I put it in upright it sticks way out of the top. Plus, when I put my stuff inside, the bag buckles weirdly across the top as you can see in the picture I have included....and I only have my very small Hobo Euro-slide wallet, mini make-up bag with a couple lipsticks & a hair tie in it, and an eyeglass case in there so it's not even full yet! Maybe if the handle was a sturdier & higher quality cut of leather that wouldn't happen. I have many Hobo bags that I've purchased over the years but I have ordered 3 in the last few months and I returned 2 of them for quality issues and the other because once I saw it in person the style was just meh and nothing special for the price so I returned it. This has never happened to me with a Hobo bag before. Not sure if the design team has changed or if they are just trying to cut corners but I'm super disappointed. Another return on this one. Bummer.

I really like this bag, as I do Hobo products! The weight is perfect; not heavy for my shoulders. The inside is generous and holds the usual - sunglasses, wallet (I have 2 Hobo wallets), inhaler and I can just unzip (love a zipper closure) and see everything. It is easy to get you hand into and see and find whatever you need. There are 3 open pockets inside and one zip pocket for papers and items you don't want to lose. The 2 outside pockets are not large, but hold cell phone, lipstick, etc. Only minus for me is that there is not a cord to attach my keys. I keep them in one of the inside pockets, but wish there was something to hook them to. Size of bag is perfect: I am petite and don't like to be overwhelmed by a large bag. It is not too wide on the bottom, so when it is over your shoulder, your arm can go straight down; not extended away from your body. Straps just fit over my shoulder and should be even more comfortable when it is no longer coat weather. The Mistletoe is almost a dark olive green. Nice leather and tailored style is a plus; no extra hardware that adds weight. After trying several bags; this one is great for me. Can wear as shoulder bag or carry as a tote.

I LOVE THIS BAG. The quality is outstanding and the size is perfect. I ordered the Hobo Charlie in the Earth color and it’s even prettier than in the picture. . It will be my everyday bag. The strap is long enough to sling up onto my shoulder with one hand which is a big issue with me. It has outside pockets on both sides and the interior has enough pockets and zipper pouch for everything. It arrived in perfect condition and even a bit early. I’m thinking about ordering it in the Magnolia color. Oh, it’s lightweight which is another issue with me. My shoulder doesn’t hurt.

What a great bag! And the color (willow) is gorgeous! The leather is soft and the strap is strong and substantial. I have back issues and the shape and weight distribution when carrying this back is perfect. It stays on my shoulder without slipping and fits just right around my body. It will get a lot of use. Love Hobo bags!

I love this purse. It's the perfect size, has the outside pockets that I find so necessary, and it looks and feels great.

I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect black leather bag..I found it!! This bag is not too big, nor too small. I wasn't sure if I would like the contrasting brown strap, but it is classy! There is plenty of room inside with the pockets and zippered compartments and there are two pockets outside (one on each side) which are easy to access because they snap. Perfect for cell phone. As usual, Hobo knocks it out of the park again with a well-made great looking handbag!

The things I like about this bag are that it's a good size (most are too big), nice adjustable strap, basic design. I would have liked a slightly heavier leather, but this is a problem with all purses. I also would have liked a fold over top, but that does not exist in this size and quality. I also considered Frye and Fossil, but could find what I wanted.

Love this bag. Love the leather, the size, the comfort. No crazy bells and whistles, just quality and comfort. I have had a Hobo wallet for years, and love that too.

The color of the bag is much more gray -- a putty -- keeping it because of the magnetized side pockets which will be great for a cell phone and the bag is large enough to hold my tablet.

The bag itself is nice, like most Hobos, but I was disappointed in the strap. It is uncomfortable and stiff and really can't be adjusted even though it is full of adjustment holes. If you adjust it it looks funny.

The handbag is nice but the strap is cheap looking, not even sure it’s real leather. I’ve ordered several Hobo bags and had to return all. I own many Hobo bags from past years but it seems that the quality of this brand has certainly gone down hill.

This is a wonderful purse. I’ve never had a Hobo brand bag. Quality made, perfect size. I would live another in a different color.

This is a great bag !! Everything fits and it is comfortable to carry. It's a little more yellow than I expected but it's all good.

I ordered four different styles of Hobo bags and chose one. The Charlie is okay, but I’d sure like to talk to their design team. I don’t care for the strap, and the magnetic pockets are a good idea but too small for today’s electronics.

I like the size & style of the HOBO Charlie handbag; I already have one in black, so I knew what I was getting. I ordered this bag because I wanted a deep chocolate color bag. I thought, given the “Woodland” color of the Hobo wallet, that the “Woodland” color of the bag would be deep chocolate as well. Turns out it is more of a mustard/mud brown; it’s not that the color is bad, it’s that I was looking for a deep chocolate. That is the only reason it is going back! Thanks to Zappos, for being able to look and return if need be. I purchase more things in the end, because I am not taking a chance and paying shipping both ways on items!

Not a bad purse but smells bad. I do not know if I will br able to return it since I cut the tags off and discarded all thr packaging except the protective bag. I have used it a couple of times and have now decided it isn’t worth Using anymore. I have two Hobo wallets with no smell whatsoever. Would not order a Hobo anything online again—would go to a store and sniff to sure it was not offensive. On the plus side: Interior is nicely designed, and outer compartments are good, but smelling like old shoes is a deal breaker.

I bought the Hobo Charlie and Friar to see which one I liked better. I like the size and style of the Charlie as much as the Friar. Both are great designs. But I have the same complaint with both. The leather is thin and flimsy and the Charlie started to slouch as soon as I put my normal stuff in the purse. And I don't put a lot of stuff in my purse (a long wallet, glass case, keys, my iPhone.) The photo does show this tendency to cave in across the top and it gets more noticeable when you fill the purse and sling it on your shoulder. Too bad. I wish Hobo would use higher quality leather and give their handbags some structure. I'll have to keep using my Brighton handbag (embarrassed to say how old it is) but it looks as good as the day I bought it.
