I think they will be great for my next adventure race!

Good looking shoe, but they run small. I've read that Gortex shoes fit a bit smaller because of the extra waterproof lining. I felt it a lot by my achilles tendon area

I love La Sportiva - I have worn their climbing shoes since the 80's. This really is a perfect shoe for most trail running, walking, hiking and I love how they look, too. However, these will not work for me on technical trails / steep, rocky surfaces. The toe area is too boxy and doesn't allow for a snug fit, it is also bulky which doesn't allow for a lot of specific control very steep and rocky trails up or down. Otherwise I love the shoe!

I own this shoe in its non-GTX form, and I love it. I ordered this one assuming it would be the same shoe, just waterproof. However, this shoe is constructed slightly different. It comes up higher on the front and the underneath of the ankle area. My regular Ultra Raptors never touch my ankles. This GTX option was rubbing them like crazy. Had to return due to this -- too bad, would've loved them if only they were truly the same shoe.

I love love love the Ultra Raptors (not crazy about the clown blue color of them) and I needed a waterproof shoe so I got the GTX. They fit great all over but the back of the Achilles tendon area fits way too snug. Maybe it's to keep the water out, but I fear getting blisters. The rest of the shoe was great. Unfortunately I need to return them : (
