Just dropping a quick review to let people know these are not actually splits. They are notched. They have a slight V in the bottom outside of the leg opening, but it isn't a true split as a runner would understand that term. They are nicely made shorts. Just not actually splits if that is what you are after. I didn't keep them, so my comfort rating is for the softness of the materials, which are first rate.

I just bought 2 pair of shorts and I think they are amazing. I live in a hot region area and finding a good fitting pair of shorts that keeps me cool yet doesn't expose too much is difficult. These shorts do exactly that. They are very light weight, soft, breathable, fit very well, and are exactly what I was looking for. Whether used for running or simply lounging around on the patio, these shorts are great. The inner liner helps keep the male parts from being exposed so there is no worry about raising your legs on a foot rest. For some, the inner liner might take some getting used to. At first it feels like the inner liner chaffs the legs. This is just a feeling and will eventually go away. Otherwise, these shorts are amazing. For you gentlemen who want to impress the ladies with strong upper legs and thighs, these shorts expose the full thigh so the ladies WILL be impressed.

It is ridiculous that a size small fits up to a 33" waist and 39" hip. A size XS is the reasonable answer to oversizing but Asics does not offer size XS.
