There are of course other jackets that better suit different activities but if you're looking for one jacket that works for everything, this is it! It's comfortable over a t shirt (because of the c knit) in milder weather and it has been great with layers ski touring in very windy and snowy conditions. I chose to take this jacket (and the Zeta LT pants) up Mt Kilimanjaro as it is very light weight and packs down well and I stayed warm and dry during all-day downpours, high winds, and frigid conditions. This jacket has been through it all and is still holding up great after 2 years! As far as fit, I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs and a medium fits well (with layers). This jacket is long-torso friendly and has a nice figure. 2 thumbs up from me!

Bought this solely as my main layer for hiking camino 550 miles across northern spain in October/November (variable weather), with a 30lb pack. Ultimately wore it almost every day, then subsequently for 2 weeks vacationing in Italy. It fits very well (I bought a large, and am 6'2', 195 lbs, athletic), and the windproofing effect kept me warm in moderate temperatures with just a t shirt underneath. It is durable, I banged it around quite a lot hiking for 30 days, with a pack, and it shows no sign of wear. Pockets in and out are a decent size for gloves/phone etc.
It continues to be a go-to jacket for me back in the US approaching fall with lower temps and rain/wind etc. Although quite expensive, it's clearly epitomizes the R&D Arc'teryx invests in

I never write reviews but this jacket is unbelievable. I am 5'9" 175 with a 32" waist and the medium is perfect. Enough room to move well in it but also a nice trim athletic fit. It is a "minimalist" jacket in the sense that there aren't any extras to the design, so you get exactly what you need which is waterproofing, comfort, breathability, lightweight, and it's attractive to look at. I've had the jacket through 3 different New England seasons so far and it is very versatile, just as great in a hot summer thunderstorm, or as a windbreaker for a September boat ride, or freezing rain. I love it.

Couleur sympa.

This is a great waterproof light weight gortex jacket. It breathes and moves with you. It fits great although you will need to adjust the hood size.

It made me nauseous to spend this much on a rain jacket, but I like having the best. I was going to send it back if there was the smallest thing I didn't like. I've worn it twice now, and I honestly can't wait for more rain so I can wear it again!!
I'm 6'1" 185 with broad shoulders, 38" arms, and a 31" waist. Most jackets, or any garment for that matter, hang on me. This is incredibly form fitting without being too tight. Arm length is another area where I usually run into problems. The length of these arms is perfect for me.
I can see issues for people without an athletic build. But considering this is geared towards active people, I think the design is perfect. It's rare for me to find something that fits this excellent. Kudos Arc'teryx, I'll definitely be buying more gear in the future!

It took me quite some time to decide between the Zeta LT and the Beta LT as they're both very similar in design and application. In the end I chose the Zeta for the smaller hood (I don't need it to fit with a helmet), the C-Knit backer and because I have a sturdier Gore-Tex shell should the situation arise. I'm 6'/205# and the L/XL both fit. I chose the XL simply to have a bit more room with a heavier layer (Thorium SV vest, Atom LT, etc.).
I've worn the Zeta around town, walking around the neighborhood and, thus far, on approximately 100 miles of hiking over mixed terrain. I find that it breathes exceptionally well, fit well under a pack, and the C-Knit is as comfortable as advertised when the shell is worn on top of a T-shirt. The Zeta packs well into its hood, the face material is very supple, the pockets are generous, and the overall quality is flawless. I've been purchasing Arc'teryx gear for at least twenty years and have yet to be disappointed with quality or performance in any of their products. The Zeta is a great addition to my outdoor clothing list.

no fuss no muss! Brought along as a backup for serious rain and only needed it for limited time which made the packability aspect perfect.

Bought this jacket for my husband, and he looks absolutely amazing in it! We are moving to the coast, and he is a prairie boy - and I told him there is no such thing as bad weather, just poor equipment! He is already enjoying the coast so much more with this Gortex dream.

Fantastic jacket, excellent for pretty much every activity. Also very practical, the front pockets are bigger than expected and can easily fit a large fold-away map along with other possessions like my gloves. The interior pocket is also very handy as I use it for my railcard and phone.
The main zipper is very easy to unzip and zip up making it easy to reach the interior pocket.

The Zeta LT is simple in all the right ways. It compatcs info a ball, it drys off quickly on the outside, it's light weight and adjustable where you need it. The pocket placement is an easy transition moving from my Sentineal Jacket in the winter to this guy in the spring, summer fall. Not to mention, this jacket is tough! It's been caught up nails and no sign of it, it's been bush wacking, through the mud and rain and it's still looking crips! I probably wear this jacket or at least pack it in my pack 3 times a week or more for the last 7 months and it still looks brand new. I get compliments on the simple, yet embracing female body types fit on it all the time! I've worn it hiking, spring touring (note there is not powder skirt which is okay in spring!), climbing, errand running and biking. I don't know how I survied with out having it in my closet to be honest!

I was looking for a shell that was lighter and cheaper then an Alpha SV but more durable then a paclite. The Zeta fits that perfectly. It has held up fantastically in torential rain for a whole season guiding on Vancouver Island. After over 100 days of use it has held up durability wise as well. Only drawback is that I have to re-waterproof it more often then previous shells I have owned.

This is an awesome piece! The C-Knit backer remained breathable in a variety of different conditions, with a few different weight mid layers during a recent backpacking trip to Grand Teton National Park.
The DWR worked great during steady rain, and the piece also dried quickly when the rain stopped. I have used different Gore Tex backers before, and the C-Knit is my favorite yet.

I did already own a Alpha AR and was looking for a hardshell a little trimmer in fit and even more comfortable to wear during spring, summer and autumn. And the Zeta LT really does all this. The C-Knit is not as noisy as other hardshell materials and is really nice and soft in feel when wearing next to skin when protecting from that summer rain with only a T-shirt underneath. Worth noting is that the hood is a bit tight to fit over a helmet.

The zeta lt is my go to waterproof jacket and I use it for general lifestyle use as well as for walking and trekking. It does what it says on the tin - it is a very waterproof lightweight jacket which is very comfortable. It is quite expensive, but it does the job so well, and feels of the highest quality that I would be more than happy to pay that price again. Arcteryx make quality products so I have no doubt that this will last me for years to come. The only problem I can find with it is that the zippers go downwards to open the outer pockets which is a bit strange and gets some getting used to. This is a quality jacket and don't let this put you off!!!!

I purchased the zeta lt to meet my hard shell needs for late spring, summer and early fall. Switching from s sleeve, lg sleeve and light mid layer covers those temps. This is a great waterproof, wind proof shell. I am 6 ft 1", 195 lbs and the large is a good fit. The hood stows very nicely in the collar, unlike other jackets I have had. The pit zips are useful in warmer temps to help regulate my body temp. I highly recommend this jacket.

I have an Alpha SV that I use on a regular basis which has proven to be solidly reliable for a couple of years, but I felt I needed a lightweight (and especially packable) jacket for less rigorous use. The Zeta LT rolls up nicely into the hood for packing away and so far has proven to be capable in windy and wet weather. The cut is similar to the Alpha, but feels slightly longer in the arms and overall length. It's a lot lighter and though I wouldn't use it in the same conditions as the Alpha it handles itself well in a downpour. Overall, this works well as an everyday urban waterproof or a trail/hiking jacket.

Bought it before my trip to Peru in Feb, caught in the big rain and I didnt get wet at all, quite waterproof. And the jacket got dry pretty quick also. Beautiful colour and super light, really a great waterproof jacket for traveling. Was my first Arc'teryx purchese, got little too big, would go for S not M for this jacket.

I got this for work a while back because I needed a hard wearing OD green rain jacket. The jacket packs down in to the hood easily and has great waterproofing.
