LOVE. THESE. BOOTS. Last year, I fell in love with the Sorel Joan of Arctic ankle wedges because they were cute, stylish, and super comfy right out of the box. This year, I was in the market for a tall boot, but with my wide, muscular calves it's been impossible to find tall boots that fit without looking frumpy. These are sassy, unique, instantly comfy, and completely adjustable to accommodate my narrow ankles and big calves. I'm usually between an 8 and 8.5, and ordered the 8.5 to have enough room for slightly thicker socks in winter. Perfect.

These are easily the most comfortable boots that I have ever purchased. As soon as the thermometer dipped below 70° I put these bad boys on. I have worn them on several occasions, walked around all day and felt like I was wearing slippers. I think I could run in these, they are that comfortable. I have athletic calves and the lacing allowed for a perfect fit. My feet are just a tad wide with an extremely high arch and the footbed is accommodating. The rubber tread allows for stability, even on slippery surfaces. The oiled leather and suede make a beautiful contrast. Bonus - every time I wear them I get compliments, from friends and strangers alike. I like them so much that I just ordered them in dark brown, too!

I am someone who is always limping around with shoe pain by the end of the day. These were so comfortable from day one I could not believe it. I am sort of between sizes and I got a 6½. They fit well with slightly heavier socks. I would love to get another color.

These boots are absolutely amazing! They are super comfortable, warm, dry and waterproof! I live in Michigan and it is so nice to finally have cute winter boots that are also extremely practical. I am a size 7½ or 8 in most shoes and these fit perfectly; there is room for thick socks to help keep warm. I have calves that are on the wide side and they fit in these with no issues; laces make them able to accommodate a wide range of leg size. They are also easy to lace up and take on and off. These are very comfortable. I love the almost-punk but still-sleek style. I walked most of the day the first day I wore them with no problems. I am a solid 8½ with not quite wide feet and the 8½ give me just enough room to wiggle in regular socks and will fit perfectly with thick wool winter socks. I also have narrow ankles and wide calves (16½-17"), and the lace-up style accommodates that very well (they would probably fit up to 19" calf). The sole feels very sturdy and has good grip so I am not worried about wearing them in ice or snow.

I love these boots. They were pretty comfortable when I first put them on and I've noticed that they get even more so with more wear. The laces can be a bit of a hassle if you're in a hurry but they are so beautiful and stylish that all is quickly forgiven. I have larger calves and find these to work great. Overall I'm very happy with these boots!

I love these boots! As other reviews have stated, I get many compliments. I have slightly narrow feet which leads to extra room in the actual boot. I think a solution will be to wear thicker socks. They have very comfortable wedges that you will not notice wearing all day! Also, I am pregnant at the moment and this does not hurt my feet at all. This was a good buy!

I absolutely love these boots! Even with the heel, they are incredibly comfortable. The look is uniquely feminine and a little edgy, exactly what I was looking for.

These are the most amazing boots! The warm gray and taupe is really unique and matches so many outfits. I'm ecstatic that they fit so well on my full calves. The tie up design makes them great for so many leg shapes. The structured stitching design that makes up the back of the boot makes them look dressier and is very slimming. I might have to buy the brown ones as a Christmas gift to myself I love them so much! They fit true to size as well.

I bought a pair of ankle boots by Sorel last year and they ended up being my absolute favorite go to shoe so I'm not surprised that these boots are everything and more than I expected them to be. Super comfortable right out of the box, very stylish and the perfect height! The combination of colors are lovely as well. Love my purchase!

I absolutely love these boots. I think I gave these the best test ever. Up early for Big Ten tailgating, standing for hours, got covered in rain and cold, still standing/walking, headed to after game party, still standing, then walked 2½ miles from bar to restaurant in the freezing cold and wet streets. All that and still loved these boots. I even walk the dog in them. They are truly weatherproof. I have since been in snow and they are not staining a bit. Did I mention that my feet do not get cold? How adorable they are? I might live in Nashville but I headed to Ohio and Michigan for their big test.

Fashion meets function! Ideal for those between storm days when you're not tromping through snow drifts. The deep channels in the sole help me feel secure walking in icy conditions. I get lots of compliments on the style, and they're comfortable enough to wear all day. The sizing is spot on, with enough room in the toe box to wear thicker socks on colder days. Spendy, but worth it because I know they'll last for years.

Very cool boot! It's not my usual style, but I thought I'd try something different. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5, so I bought a 9 - fits well. There is some bulging at the ankle, but maybe a thicker sock will help (the laces are long but very good for loosening and tightening). There is a good video on the Sorel website that shows you how to wear them. Despite the 3.5 inch wedge heel, they are very comfortable. I wore them to work and got lots of complements. I usually change my shoes after work to walk my dog, but I wore them all day with no problem.

I am in love with these boots! I bought the shorter wedge (Joan of Arctic) from Sorel last year and thought they couldn't get any better. These are better. They are so comfy and stylish (and waterproof in the PNW is a plus). You literally can wear them all day right out of the box. I got the charcoal color and love that it's not black or brown...just a great color. These are definitely worth the price. I would actually pay more for this boot...It's that great. I read people had problems with the laces; I have not had one issue with this boot and I have been wearing them daily.

So glad I ordered these! The grey and tan suede is thick and quality of workmanship obvious. Wish colder weather would come so I can wear them!

Love these boots. They run true to size. They are so comfortable, and extremely waterproof, and oh yes, stylish. I probably will get another color this year as Sorel has a tendency to retire their styles. This is one worth keeping. It was 15 degrees yesterday with 8 inches new snow.

I was slightly skeptical about ordering these boots because of their height (I'm 6'1" and didn't want to look like Frankenstein thumping about in them) and the minute I put them on, my doubts were completely gone. These are beautiful boots. I bought the grey and the grey is slightly darker than what is pictured, but it makes for a nice contrast. They definitely feel a half size too big, but thick socks solves the problem. Now, to wait 110 days until I REALLY break them in on my trip to Iceland this March. So glad they're stylish, comfortable, and water proof. I'm going to need all of those!

OMGGGGGGG this is my DREAM boot!! This boot hits the trifecta: 1) DESIGN is KILLER and exactly my style - funky, stylish, dress up or down.... 2) COMFORT! I can't stress enough how great they nailed this one. I have bad feet as of this whole past year, been seeing an ortho foot doc who had me only wearing very supportive Birks or Danskos, but I've been craving tall boots and I can't be happier with the comfort of these. Footbed is wide enough not to cramp my feet, and I wear thin socks, and leggings most of the time to work, so these are my new regulars.... and 3) TOP QUALITY! They have used the best materials, and did not skimp on one little thing....I am thrilled with my Cate the Greats!!! When a company pleases me as much as these boots did.....I want more. LOL. Therefore I've ordered two more pairs of Sorels, and hoping they impress me just as much as these Cates did! I HIGHLY recommend Cate the Great boots by Sorel. Now I want the other colors. :-0

I ordered these boots and they are super comfortable. I love these. I have never paid this much for a boot, but it was well worth the money. I got so many compliments on these.

I purchased these with no intent on keeping them; I simply wanted to see how they looked. As someone who owns zero pairs of heels or wedges, I was convinced I would try them on, have a glance in the mirror to satisfying my curiosity, and immediately send them back. Instead, I was amazed at how comfortable they were and how stable I felt in them. I have a wide foot so I purposely went half a size up; the length has a bit of wiggle room, but this accommodates the width well, and allows me sock and insole options. I have since worn these all day at work, along with shopping, errands, etc., and am ready to order another color. As someone who has sensitivity issues and always opts for comfort over style, I love when I find both in one. These are definitely a keeper!
