I live in NYC and last winter was brutal -- so to prepare for this upcoming season, I did a lot of research. Canadian Goose was the number one option for the warmest coat on the market, but the over $800 price tag was crazy! The Arctic was rated #2 at a third of the price.
I usually wear Medium. At first, I thought the Medium was small, but the Large was way too big. The sales rep then told me about the snap on the bottom of the back of the jacket. We undid it and it fit like a glove! So just keep that in mind when trying on, ladies!!!

I knew I wanted this coat last year and I waited until fall to order it. The sizing is a bit off. I have a fairly straight shape...but a bigger bust. Even after putting my bra size in the sizing tool---it's a bit snug in the bust. Lots of room in the hip area. I think if you have a true pear shaped body this coat would be great.

I haven't used this coat yet, but I have tried it on and it fits and feels like a dream. It's very warm and I cannot wait for winter now! This is my second TNF coat. My first one was a triclimate jacket and I was really impressed at the quality and how well it kept me warm throughout last year's winter. But as "winter is coming" again, I decided it was time to get an upgrade for a bigger coat. The main purpose for my new coat would be to cover up my rear and my upper legs more so I can withstand walking around campus for longer periods during especially frigid days. This coat will do just that, and it looks absolutely adorable to boot! The only fault that I've found so far (which isn't a big one) is that sometimes the zipper is a little difficult to operate at the bottom and can stick. But there are snap buttons on the coat to use instead if it breaks down on me at all.

Even though it is pricey, I believe this jacket is worth it. I am waiting for the cold to hit us so I can actually wear it! I would recommend however going in store to try it on and see if it fits you right. I am 5'3 140 lbs with an athletic build 34C chest and got a small. It is a little longer than I expected but I love the fit!

Just bought this coat for winters in WI. Was looking for something warm, stylish, and waterproof that wouldn't break the bank. Can't yet comment on the warmth or waterproof, but my sister has the metropolis which is the same down fill and she says its plenty warm for winter. The coat is very stylish and I love the color and texture of the grey. It looks more polished than just the normal waterproof outer layer of a down coat. Hoping this will the right choice for cold wet winters. Coat has a nice cinched waist which helps to avoid looking like a marshmallow. The coat does puff out below the wait a bit, but it long enough to reaches my knees (i'm 5' 8") which I like.

I am very happy with my purchase. Despite this, I wish that the inside of the coat was fur as it looks in the product picture.

Wanted... 1. a really really warm waterproof parka for winters in Chicago. Check.
2. a fitted style that did not look like a puffer. Check.
3. a stylish look. Check.
So why only 4 stars? Because it runs tight in the torso (but not in the sleeves) and is SO insulated that I am uncomfortable within minutes. It is just NOT comfortable. I am 5'8", 130# and I got a Small. (Medium was too big.) Hoping the insulation flattens out with time as I wear it . Kind of disappointed with this expensive coat. :(

Very nice looking parka. Light, warm, and well made. I was surprised the sizing chart recommended a small since I??m 99% of the time a medium. I even went back and increased my measurements and added 10 lbs to my weight and it still recommended a small. So I ordered a small which was very snug with a light shirt. I had to exchange it for a medium so I could comfortably wear medium weight winter clothing under it. Also, the "internal media storage pocket" would be better located lower on the jacket.

I loved this coat online and debated between it and the Tremaya for quite a while. I went with this coat because of the price and bright red color. It was beautiful when it arrived, but the small felt tight across my shoulders. I returned it, planning on getting it in a medium, but I happened to find the Tremaya in the meantime and decided that some of the extra details were worth the extra cost to me.
If it helps anyone, I'm 5/7 135lbs, I have pretty narrow shoulders and am small busted. I used the TNF fit tool and it told me to get a small. It fit alright, but I knew that I'd be more comfortable if I purchased the bigger size and went with the medium.

I love the quality of the material. It's also not too heavy. Keeps you warm while looking stylish.

I really loves this coat, but agree with everyone of the true size of this coat. the coat does run a little small in size, otherwise the coat is perfect.

The coat looks great and is very warm for the Chicago winters. I love the sleeves because they don't have the typical Velcro to close them off against the cold but the elastic in the sleeve does a great job of keeping the cold out. The only minor issue I've had is that the zipper sometimes snags so it can be testy to close. It has gotten easier the more I wear it so soon it could be a non-issue. Overall I love this coat and received many compliments on it!

After last winter in Chicago I decided I needed a North Face. This one is very stylish. Be advised it runs small and the arms are not as warm as I expected.

This jacket is very nice, love the navy color. It keeps me warm... My only suggestion Northface could cut woman's jackets to be a bit more flatter, it's hard to be cute in -10 so a coat with a more clinched waist would be perfect!

This is my favorite coat. I used the fit guide online and it recommended me buying a XS. I'm 5'3 and 115 lbs. Please look at the chart that goes with the coat to show you how it would fit. I ended up buying a S so that I had a little bit of room for sweaters during winter. I'm glad I went with the small. The fit is great, keeps me very warm and yet stylish as well. Love the coat!! My only issue (and it's minor) is I wish the hood was a little bigger. But, it still fits so can't complain much about that. Overall I would def. recommend this coat. I bought the navy blue. Enjoy!!

I'm 5'5" and 125lbs and like my jackets a little loose so I can wear layers underneath, but the Medium looked too large and frumpy so I exchanged it for a Small. The Small is true to size, but it is a fitted jacket so will be snug if you layer up.
The gray color isn't really a true gray. It looks more like a very dark greenish gray instead, which I'm not crazy about, but it's neutral and the hood faux fur color is nice and looks great up.
Very warm and the comfortable, with good, deep pockets.

Totally love the color (purple) and it's so warm and cozy. Although it looks at bit too chunky, being warm is more important for me :)

The coat's baroque purple color was very true to the way it looked on my computer screen--a nice dark tone of red-violet. The faux-fur ruff is soft. The hood zips off.
I read the reviews and saw that this coat ran small. I ran the website's "find your size" tool twice, and both times it said a medium would fit me the way the designer intended, so I ordered the medium.
It was too tight for me across the shoulders, and had almost no space for warm layering inside. I am at an ideal weight for my age (43) and height (5' 7.5").
I am returning the coat. I would like to exchange it for one size up, but that was not an option. I can only get a refund, either to my credit card or as a gift card.
Since I have to start an order all over again, I may as well buy locally so I can try it on. Alas, there are no North Face stores in my area. The coat I settle for will probably not make me so happy as this parka would have had it fit properly, or if exchange was easier.
Whatever,
