It's a great winter coat for chicago. As a shorter woman(5 3) it's a little big in the shoulders and long in the sleeves but that didn't deter me from keeping the coat.

The color is nice and I can tell the jacket is warm, but it is definitely not short person friendly. I did take a risk on this knowing it wasn't a petite size, but it didn't work out. The cut is also a boxier fit with the top being much roomier than the bottom if you have more of a pear-shape. Sad to return it!

Absolutely love the fit and fabric of the parka, however the zipper will not stay zipped at the bottom. I'll be contacting North Face to see if I can get an exchange so I hopefully will not have the same problem. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase if I can get the zipper fixed.

It is a nice and quality parka. However, compared to the first version, it is boxier and doesn't have strings to make the hip area fit better. So, cold air can come in. I felt warmer in the previous version. Also, I am petite and the sleeves are too long. However, the length is great, it comes until my knees.

Great jacket. I bought one 3 years ago that was stolen. That one was way better quality. I don't like the Velcro on this one and it has no inside pockets. It gets cold but not freezing so the warmth is perfect. The hood fur is cheaper in quality than my other one. But I got it at Black Friday sale so I couldn't pass it up. It will do the trick but I'd never pay full price for it.

Listed as warmest waterproof parka. Love it, but sleeves are 5" too long for functional photography in Antartica. Would be perfect if could adjust them like the waist cords - Put same type in Sleeve seams???

I am pear shaped so I went with the XL. It fits over my butt well and have more than enough room on top. The drawstring on the back does help to make the top half not look so large. I have more than enough room for a thick sweater. It is very warm and will be great for being outside for long periods of time.

I thought this coat would be a bit heavier. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

I really like this jacket, but it's not my favorite North Face jacket ever. A few things I don't love: (1) the pockets are a little too small so it's hard to put my hands in, (2) the snaps are hard to snap (they may loosen up over time, though), (3) I have the elastic waist all the way cinched in, but it's still too loose, (4) since the waist is cinched in, the elastic hangs down in the pockets - it would be better if they were inside the jacket itself, (5) the neck is high so it's uncomfortable having it zipped all the way up, (6) the hood doesn't sit very well on my head when it's on (with the fur on - I haven't tried it without). Having said all that, it is pretty warm, it's comfortable, and it doesn't look completely shapeless. But I do prefer some of the older designs better.

The jacket is super warm. It looks great. Had to unfortunately return coz it was a little too roomy.

I love this parka. It is warm, just long enough, and impressively waterproof. I love the colorways, too. Only reason it's not getting the fifth star is the velcro closure instead of the snaps. Bring back the snaps, please.

I originally ordered a medium (my usual size) and it felt way too big. Like the previous user, I was annoyed that the waist couldn't be cinched in. I contacted North Face and they explained that the adjustment cords are in the pockets and sure enough! I ended up returning it and sizing down. It's a bit snug being brand new but will end up being the proper size. The color is beautiful and it's a good warm parka once you get the sizing right.

Love this jacket, perfect fit.

This was a replacement for my previous parka. I do like it, and love that it's more wind-proof than before. It's also very warm. However, I really miss the old coat and the way it felt and fit. This one fits much larger, is more rough to touch (probably a result of wind-proofing so it's ok), hood is so heavy that the coat chokes me when fully zipped and hood isn't on (hood also covers my entire face when on, and is not adjustable like previous style), also the added velcro is a huge downside as opposed to snaps. It gets caught on everything and is very irritating. Careful if you're wearing a nice scarf. Overall, not bad and it's a viable option, especially appreciate the warmth factor, but wish they hadn't changed certain design aspects.

It's a heavy and sturdy coat. Very warm!

Purchased to replace my old North Face coat, it looks identical but the material "catches" a lot more dog hair then my previous coat. However, it did keep me warm through Michigan winter.

Great product! Kept the cold away in Finland! Slightly tight on the chest!

I live in a colder winter climate so needed a warm jacket. This jacket is warm and good looking. The hood stays on your head which is a plus! I love the color of the coat and the faux fur accents the coat nicely. I also have a grey jacket like this one. I just hope I don't have the same problem with the zipper.

I like this coat, but I had to return because I could not get passed the scratchy velcro. It snags on to other fabrics and overtime I could see that this would bother me making the coat look more dingy. It's hard to clean velcro once it gets caught with other fabrics. Also, the velcro does not feel soft against my skin. The hood could be more substantial. Once I zipped off the fur, it barely covered my entirely head. I'm 5 foot 5 and 120 pounds and the coat fit great around my body. However the hood was just too small. It is extremely warm. I usually run cold and I was comfortable in 30 degrees with just a thing cotton shirt underneath.

A super warm parka but since I already owned another Patagonia super warm parka, I decided to return it. Patagonia store in NYC was extremely helpful and nice.

I bought this coat and really liked it. Practicality stepped in and I ended up returning it. It's fab for here in Boston but I am soon returning back home to NZ and decided the non padded raincoat in the same style was more convenient. I have to say that the Velcro fastening on this and my raincoat are annoying. They are scratchy, things stick to them and detract from the quality of the rest of the coat.

1 month in, all good. I wish there were snaps vs velcro to close over the zipper. The velcro is already getting fuzzy w debris.

I have been a customer of TNF for years and have purchased several coats over this time period and unfortunately, for awhile it seemed the quality dipped. Zippers were breaking and the coats weren't lasting as long as my older ones did. The material felt cheap, too. This poor quality led me to this new coat... And I have to start with the shipping hassle I went through with this coat... I ordered it as a replacement to my last TNF coat because it ripped and broke in several places after one month of wear (stated above: poor quality in zipper, material, etc.). The customer service is fantastic! After receiving my coat for repair they deemed it unfixable and sent me a giftcard for the value of the old coat towards a new one. GREAT! I boat this coat on sale with the gift card and couldn't wait to get it for a winter night out with friends we had coming up. It arrived two days before our plans. Excited, I opened the box.... to find a coat I didn't order. It was a black, short parka in the wrong size and for a man. Quite disappointed the coat I ordered didn't arrive in time for said event, but customer service was once again helpful providing a return label for the wrong coat and dispatching the correct one right away. A little frustrating, but thankfully it was quickly fixed. All of that being said, I believe TNF has changed again... for the better! This coat is thick and warm while not feeling too bulky. The material seems to be water resistant as well. I love the color and especially the fur hood detail to break up the one tone throughout. The only recommendation I would give anyone looking to purchase this coat is to size down - even if I wear bulky sweaters/winter layers underneath my normal size is a bit big on me.

Very warm. Runs big. Not a huge fan of the Velcro. Great length.
