Living in Chicago is really important that the jacket delivers on its warmth. After having 3 different coats this has been the only one warm enough to wear it all the time.

I loved the coat as soon as I put it on, it fits well at all the right places, and my husband keeps complimenting at how great the coat looks on me. He is so jealous now and wants one now for himself:p The coat is warm, water/wind proof, one of the best purchase I made!

I bought this coat just in the nick of time. The weather in NYC was record breaking this past weekend. The temperature was 0 degrees F the wind chill factor of -20 degrees F. I had to walk home from work for a half hour through snow and wind and this coat held up. I was wearing a long sleeve thermal and a hoodie underneath. I also wore my Northface beenie. I was sweating by the time I got home. Recommended this coat to another friend who can attest to the same experience. The fitted cuffs are made of a soft, stretch material that is amazing at blocking out the cold air and wind. Im 5'1" and find the length to be perfect, just above my knees.

When I first got the coat, I was sort of let down, thinking to myself, how I paid all this money for this coat and it didn't look like it was going to be warm enough. Boy was I shocked the day I wore it and it -5 degrees at the bus stop. Everyone else looked like they were freezing and jumping up and down to stay warm but I just put my hood up and the coat did the rest. I zipped the coat up but needed to get to my shoulder bag, which I was wearing under my coat. I just unzipped the bottom zipper and was able to get my bus pass out when the bus arrived. I really am very happy with my purchase so far. I usually take a large size. Glad I bought the Extra large because I could fit bulky sweaters underneath without it feeling too tight. Plus it's light-weight and very breathable. The only thing I think would have been even nicer, if it had a removable, zip-out lining. I highly recommend this coat to anyone. Thank you. Ms Weiner

Warmest North Face I've ever owned. We live in Maryland and my son is a head high school football coach and I bought this jacket for the often windy, rainy playoff games. It's wonderful, so warm, repels rain and the length is perfect. Now I find myself wearing it everyday and enjoying the much welcomed warmth in freezing temperatures. My daughter and her husband were just transferred to Minnesota and I'm looking for an opportunity to keep them warm with this amazing jacket.

I use this coat for daily wear to stay warm while walking to classes and to my car at college in bitter cold New England. I like that it's light weight and easy to carry around while in the school where it's warm. I've gotten a ton of compliments, the way the coat is designed is fabulous for my plus size figure. Don't know why these coats aren't sold out yet, they are top quality and the warmest goose down. The wind does not get in, i stay very warm, and i was happy with the price, thank you North Face <3

This Jacket is awesome! My husband purchased it for me a few weeks ago prior to going on a snow skiing trip. The weather was predicted to be cold and the only warm jacket I had to wear for dinner and around town was my snow skiing jacket. the weather was very cold the first few days (single digits and teens) and the jacket kept me very warm with a sweater underneath. A couple days into the trip, the weather warmed a little (30's and 40's) and I wore just a long sleeve shirt under the jacket and still felt warm. The jacket breaths well and even with the change in temperatures and similar clothes worn under the jacket, I never felt hot. Even when layered under the jacket, I never felt restricted when wearing it. On the other hand, it doesn't feel bulky when putting it on. I would definitely recommend giving this jacket a try.

The Pros of this coat: Fit, warmth, color, length. The Cons: None I did buy a size up based on reviews, and I'm glad I did. I usually wear a large, but I'm very glad I purchased an extra large. It's a tiny bit big -- but then you wear a sweater, and it's perfect. Andlet's face it -- in the winter, when you wear this coat, you almost always are wearing sweater-type tops I'm tall (5'10") and the waist actually almost matches my waist. This is a big deal to a tall woman. We are in the midst of a Polar vortex, and last night I wore the coat in the below zero wind chills and was as warm as could be. It made me realize how poor my previous coats were for keeping me warm.

This parka is beautiful in color and design, so true to every expectation a explorer has for a warm waterproof coat. It is an awesome addition to my Northface Winter Gear collection and the best winter Birthday gift!!!

It was 7 degrees outside with a windchill of -10 today, and this parka kept me nice and warm. I have not gotten to wear it while it is snowing out, so I can't say if it is waterproof, as the description claims. I can say, however, that this coat manages to look great, fit great, and keep you warm. My first TNF purchase, and I am very pleased.

My wife always wanted a North Face coat, so when she saw her birthday present she was like crazy. The best gift I could ever give her since the engagement ring. After she use it she is in love with her coat, "stylish and very warm" as she said. She is so in love with her coat that now I want one for me jajaja.

This coat is by far the best North Face coat I have owned. I walked outside and couldn't feel any cold. I also have worn the coat in the rain and snow and the water just rolls right off of the coat. I'm sure I will enjoy this coat for years to come!

I've been wanting a long winter coat for years, but I wanted a good one, and wasn't willing to pay so much money for one... finally gave in and got this one (good sale price :-)) and it is more than I expected! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to walk right or sit in my car (I'm short, so it is almost to my knees) but it is perfectly fine! the way the coat is built accounts for all that and allows all the normal movements. I was also worried about it being too bulky looking and making me look like a marshmellow man.. but this also does not do that... it is bulky enough to keep you toasty warm, but not at all do I feel like I look like an elephant! it is so warm, yet breathable so I don't swelter in it... it really is perfect and worth every penny!! I am super happy with it, and love love love wearing it! I almost want winter to stay longer ;-)
