The material is different in the dark grey. Not as soft as the black.

This jacket is perfect for being out door and casually in the city

I wanted a jacket I could wear pretty much all year round. It is comfortable, a little stiff, and has a chemical smell, even after washing twice.

i got this jacket for something lighter than my winter jacket. It is well made, thicker material than I expected. It was hard to see from the website, but it's not as moveable as I had hoped. It is very well made, warm, and pretty heavy-duty for a soft shell.

This jacket was a little stiff and runs a little large but great material for keeping you warm. Great for cold and rainy weather. Great overall.

Gifted to my mom and she found it perfect to her size. She was impressed with quality of product. It was her first North Face product and She seemed to like it. The only Con about this is it restricts movement and is not ideal for very cold conditions.

I mainly use this for casual wear. The overall fit of the jacket is great. Comfortable to wear all day. I normally wear this at work that is similar to a warehouse environment...where its a combination of indoor and outdoor. The only drawback is that the sleeves are a little long bit they don't hinder activity in any way

It's great quality, but a bit small. I should have sized up.

Tight across the shoulders and sleeves are a little short but its a beautiful coat that can be dressed up if needed.

fit is a bit stiff and sleeves taper open at the ends so not necessarily great at keeping out the cold/rain unless you layer over a base layer. solid waterproof and windproof jacket, but wish its fit for women was a bit more tailored, especially at the sleeves

I use the product to go to work when it's cold outside. It is a thicker material and not as light weight as other jackets I have purchased from the north face. The zipper breaks every now and then but is able to be fixed. The style is cute and because it's thicker it keeps you warmer.

I lovw this jacket. It is my second one. The first I've had for years and still is holding up great. I love that it is so versatile for the spring and fall.

This is the second Apex that I have purchased. I went up a size with this jacket, I am 5'11'' and the larger size allows me to wear this over a sweatshirt easier and has a loser fit which is more comfortable for me. I liked the change in the cuff, it is angled so it covers the palm of my hand nicely!

Casual wear

I have this jacket from a past season, I had to replace because my dog chewed a hole in the pocket(there were treats in the pocket). This new one feels really snug, and I have other north face gear in the same size and they fit well. So thata little disappointing. Overall they are great and use them for winter hiking and tend to layer clothing. I will say my previous one's zipper had some weird malfunction where it didnt line up just right and zippered outwards instead of flat. So I'm worried that'll be an issue with this one. I would buy this item again though because it's perfect for what I want.

I use it as a semi light weight jacket for cooler night. It's great for layering

Bought it for our "cold" southern Arizona winters. So far - day one - it is exactly what is needed for the morning walk into work.

Bigger that I expected. Sending back for a small. For reference, I'm 5'2 135 lbs and the medium swallowed me.

Love the fit and comfort of this jacket.

For someone who is a Zero, the small fit well. Sleeves were a bit long, as she is a petit person.

Good quality

I bought this jacket to replace a similar style from years ago was stolen from me. It fits true to size, tapered to the body but not restrictive. My only complaint is that the plastic toggles from the interior drawstrings at the waist can be felt when you put your hands in the pockets. Definitely not a dealbreaker, but still annoying.

I use the jacket for cold weather running. It does a great job keeping me dry and warm. The material is pretty stiff but I expect I will have this jacket for 10+years

Because of the cut, I should have gotten the medium
