out of the box they were a great fit. didn't have to change into my back up shoes on the site. they are the tiniest bit heavier than other steel toe sneaks, but they are well balanced so there is no fatigue. the suede is easily dusted off so they stay clean looking. its a work site but i don't like looking like a slob. they are really comfortable on my 'ladder-days'. the sole doesn't have that reverse bend that puts pressure on your arch. 100% confident on rocky/unstable surfaces. soles don't mark lighter tile or wood - can't remember if they are officially non-marking. i work in high humidity and these shoes do not swamp out when i work really hard. overall super happy!

I wear these every day, 9-10 hours a day and absolutely LOVE them. I have been wearing them the last 2 years and each pair (have bought 2) have held up remarkably well. I work on heavy machinery in anything from a shop environment to outdoors. Insoles last about 2-3 months so recommend replacing them every couple months. Everyone at work still buys boots and complain about sweaty feet and stinky shoes, I don't have that problem with these Puma's.

With a limited selection to choose from (for a specific work-related project), I needed to find a shoe that I wanted to look at and a shoe that would do what I need – provide comfort, support and safety in a warehouse setting. Zappos did not make it easy, with scattered sizes and a website UX that better befits a Geocities website from the 90s, but I did stumble upon these Pumas and decided to give them a chance. (I will now be that reviewer ...) I have only worn them for one work shift, but they were comfortable and supportive – even though it was the first wear and I was walking all over a poured concrete floor for hours. I have narrow feet and it is always a challenge to find shoes that fit well for the longer term, so I'll hold off on making a definitive judgment until I have a little more time with these sneaks. For looks in this category (steel toe, work shoes), they are a win. For initial comfort in the category, seemingly also a win.

Faced with a limited selection of shoes/boots that fit my needs for a job where I needed to protects my feets (yes, feets is misspelled on purpose), I had to find something at least palatable to the eye. Lo and behold, the Puma Dakar arises from the west African coast like an elevator shoe with a brute force toe. So, it's not the hottest shoe in the world. It's not your daily runner, jogger or tennis shoe either. But, if your feet literally cannot stand being claustrophobically caught up in boots all day long, these Puma safety shoes are an awesome answer to all of your podiatric problems. Legit steel toe, low-rise sneaker design, pretty comfortable right out of the box and, despite being sized wide, when laced up they fit my perfectly proportioned narrow feet. (I kid on the perfect part, but I'm not kidding about the narrow part.) Do I love them? No. Is it possible to love a shoe with the word "safety" in its name? Also, no. But, I do like them very much and they absolutely meet my needs. Highly recommend.

I love how wide this shoe feels inside. Plenty of room for the foot to not be confined and cramped while working. The shoe feels heavy in the hand, but nothing noticeable while wearing and working.

They are heavier than normal shoes but it’s not noticeable while wearing them.
The padding and cushion insole are very comfortable.
Style is great - good with jeans, shorts, business casual. They don’t seem like work shoes.

One of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I've been wearing steel toe safety shoes for the last 12 years. It's hard to find a comfortable boot. In my line of work I'm not that concerned with rolling my ankle so shoes are perfect.

Normally, I wear a 10.5, at least as far as Adidas and Vans fit. I ordered these in a 10 and was swimming in them. Other than that I like them - returning and ordering a size 9.

Pros: Nice looking shoes, well put together, have worn daily in industrial environment and other than the shoelaces they are holding up great. Cons: Toebox is a little tight, rubs on the side of my big toe, but not as bad as most other safety toe shoes I have worn. Shoelaces fell apart quickly. The "motorsport inspired" outsole does look cool, but the traction it offers is anything but as it has very poor grip. The biggest problem with these shoes was the insoles supplied were completely worthless. The first two weeks with these shoes were painful. Not since a cheapo pair of Payless shoes I wore 15 years ago had I experienced any foot pain before these. I was about to give up on these before I tried swapping out the insoles with some I picked up at Wally World. What a difference! Now these shoes are comfortable to be in all day long.

I was hopeful these would be good shoes, but they did not fit per my normal sizing and I did not think they were comfortable and returned them for another brand all together.

These shoes look really nice, but that is about it. When I got them and wore them around the house, they were fine, out and about a little, fine too, but at work, they stink. I have gone through now 2 pairs of different insoles and they are still uncomfortable at work. I wish I could get my money back on this one!
