I was looking at these for a time. The reason I ought them was a previous reviewer mentioned she would skip groceries to have these shoes. I totally agree! Cool looking very comfortable and sturdy shoe that sees to be the focal point of anything I wear. Lots of compliments and questions. I tell everyone Zappos.com!

First the pros: The style is really unique and they caught my eye immediately. Out of all the Freebird sandals that I looked at, I kept coming back to these. They are a nice quality, but I feel they should be for the price. Ankle straps were adjustable and fit nicely around my small ankles with no large gapping. I am 5'4" 109 pounds for reference. I did struggle the first two times getting my feet in because I have high arches. Last, the color is awesome. I ordered the beige/brown color and I love the distressed look. Now the cons: These run about half to a full size larger. I am normally a 6½ or 7. I ordered a 7 and they were slipping in the heel, too long in the toe area, yet my pinky toes hung off the sides in between the thin straps. Just overall a weird fit. I returned those, ordered a 6. The 6 was a much tighter fit, but I feel that they will stretch overtime. Overall, the 6 fit much better, just a little snug in the width, but my pinky toe does not hang off in between the straps on this pair. I think it is because of where the thinner straps hit my toes in the smaller size. Bottom line, go for the smaller size and allow for break in. These are not comfortable right out of the box! I feel they would have been if they came in half sizes.

Wow. This is a sad tale I must share. This is my 3rd review of these shoes. My first pair fit like a glov! I wear 10 but 9 fit great! I wore them 4x and the buckle segment broke. Zappos kindly exchanged them for me, but the 2nd pair of 9s was WAY too small, so I ordered the 10 which is WAY too big. Of course they are out of 9.5 which I suspect would fit perfectly. I am SO in love with this shoe that I just can't decide what to do. Wear them way too big or send them all back. I cannot wear the new 9s as my heal is so cramped that blisters will ensue and they push my toes over the edge which is just wrong. *sigh* I'm truly saddened. I REALLY LOVE THIS SHOE. Please Zappos if you can get more 9.5 in this color I would gladly pay the price for the perfect fitting and awesome-looking shoe. I'm not sure if I've ever loved a shoe as much as I do these. Now I wish I would have kept the original 9s I got and had them repaired. What to do.

I love these shoes! I have a narrow foot so when I read reviews that these ran narrow and a size larger, I was all over it. I normally wear 10 N, and they were all out of 9.5 so I tried the 9. They fit my super-narrow foot so good! I am so glad I took the chance on these. I will definitely try more Freebird in the future. Super happy!

This, is a fabulous shoe. I normally wear a 7 1/2 to 8, usually an 8 since I've gotten older and had foot surgery (too many years in retail). I first ordered the 8. They felt fine, but after a few hours wear (carpet and my kitchen floor), due to how it is constructed, I felt it stretched too much. It was also a tiny bit too long, looking at my toes. Shoes with this type of strappy style, esp real leather, can do that. I then ordered the 7 - no half sizes. I was worried it would not work out, but, it's perfect! At first it was difficult to get on (I have a narrow foot and high instep). Once it was on, though, I could tell the fit was just right. My toes don't hang over the edge, nor is there too much space at the end. It definitely looks better on my foot than the size 8. I would advise ordering the 2 sizes if you are in doubt, and if your budget allows. Don't worry if you have to work at getting it on your foot at first - the nature of the construction are typical of a style like this. It looks absolutely fantastic, and I have gotten compliments from some tough audiences already, since I've worn them. They are distressed, so if you are looking for perfect, this isn't the shoe for you. I will probably wear the crap out of these shoes. Perfect for summer. Worth every penny. Would skimp on groceries to have these! I also ordered the 'Stairway', but in a size 8, since it is a close-toed shoe. Also perfect. But that's another review! Buy them!

I am a size 10 and I ordered the 9 based on the previous reviews. They fit in length, but were a pretty tight. They look narrow, too. I love the look of this shoe, leather is great. I am returning because it looks like my feet are squeezing into these shoes! so sad...

I love these shoes so much. They fit my narrow foot like a glove. The really sad part is I have only worn them maybe 4 times and as I was getting ready to leave the house today, the leather on the left sandal failed where the buckle segment attaches to the rest of the shoe. I was going to wear these for many many years, but now they are useless. Not really sure if I can get them fixed or not. For almost a lot I expect a lot more than this. I was thinking Freebird might be my new favorite brand, but now my mind has changed. Very disappointed. I really do love these shoes, but obviously not worth the $$.

I love the style of this shoe as it fits up around my ankle. It also fit with my shoe orthotics. But ..the workmanship on the coloring of the shoe was poorly done. It says in the box that it was a hand rubbed finish. On the buckle there were plain areas were the dye did was not put on and for the price it was not worth it to keep with all the missed places without the dye. On the top of the shoe it looked like it was wiped on and missed places too. I really wish it would have worked. But that price not worth keeping. If I knew how to take a picture of the shoe to post I would so you could see. Maybe not all the shoes are this way. I tried one on in a local store but they did not have my size and do not remember such glaring issues.
