I've worn so many types of running shoes, but I always come back to Saucony. I've worn these at the gym, on the road, and just around town. LOVE how comfortable they are.

LOVE this shoe a thousand times! True to fit. I ordered a half size larger and could have probably gone with regular size. I have a wide foot. The toe area has plenty of room. The heel area is nicely fitted. The arch area accommodates my wider foot too as well as not impeding with callouses from injections for plantar fasciitis on both feet. I actually like the color. I wouldn't change anything about this except having even more colors to choose from. GREAT SHOE!! I'm going to buy another pair.

These shoes are wonderful. I wore them all day the first time I put them on (and I never can do that!). I am a teacher with short wide feet and stand on concrete floors all day. My arthritic feet loved these. Hoping to find the same shoe in more colors.

Very comfortable, good support, great cushioning. I tried 3 other pair(Asics/Merrel/Brooks) before I found this one. It was comfy from right out of the box! I sometimes need a wide shoe but with this one, the medium width is ample. Be advised...the gray color is more of a charcoal or graphite gray...not as light as in picture. Not objectionable but different.

I have an extremely wide foot, with falling arches and a bunion. The width is ample with no pressure to any part of my foot or bunion. The arch is not as high as I need, but am it allows for an insert without removing the insole. I ordered several pairs to accommodate my wide foot...and kept these!

I cannot recommend these shoes enough. I have moderately wide feet and even though the Echelon 5 currently does not come in a wide size, they fit like a dream. At first I was hesitant to even try them on, because I am used to wearing a much slimmer looking old school sneaker, like an Onitsuke Tiger or an Asics and I usually will only wear something severe in a colour that is mostly black or charcoal. Admittedly, I am a sneaker snob and in the past have cared more about how the sneaker looked than whether or not it was most the comfortable choice for me! I went to meet with a foot specialist who analyzed my gait in a very high tech way. She filmed me walking on a treadmill barefoot and then again with many different sneakers. Even though I initially refused to even try this shoe on as I kept telling her that the toe from above looked like a duck billed platypus, I eventually after much coaxing put it on my foot. All I can say is WOW. I felt like Cinderella finding her shoe. It fit like a dream. All my horrible foot aches have been significantly diminished now that I am wearing the right sneaker for me. I had started to experience numb toes and quite a bit of pain in the ball of my foot. I no longer have the numbness that I had from all my Nikes and the ball of the foot pain is a lot less. I need to tell you what qualities I look for in a sneaker that are encompassed by this one. I like sneakers that are light weight, breathable, comfortable and have a cushiony marshmallow-like feel. (My feet are always hot, so I will not even try something on that has too much insulation.) This shoe has all of of those qualities and more since they actually look really great on and believe it or not, I have received many compliments on them. I wish they came in other colors, but fortunately the current charcoal and pink combination is quite chic and I literally will not take it off my foot. I have so many other sneakers, but I only want to wear this one now.

Meh - didn't love them, didn't hate them. When wearing with orthotics it felt as though my heel was too high to the back of the shoe and it might slip out.

Good running support; not too wild colored so styling good, but I prefer basic solid colored shoes. The toe blew out in just a few months and I only run a few miles a week- I patched it with a piece of leather and rubber cement and that seems to be holding. The sides are about to blow out so I may end up having to patch them some more. But the important thing is no plantar fascia issues.

I tried five Saucony running shoe styles and this one is the only one that seems to be as wide as the older styles. Like other reviewers have noticed, this year's styles of Saucony shoes seem to be narrower than they used to be. The Saucony website says this style is designed specifically to accommodate orthotics, so that may be why it is wide like the old Saucony styles. It has a lot of interior cushioning and the sole seems very thick and not flexible. It took me a while to get used to these. I still prefer the Saucony Ride, but this year I couldn't find a size that fit. I run about five miles a week and walk another five.

These started out pretty awesome. Excellent support and cushion. Almost true to size but the width was slightly narrower than I'd like. There was heel slippage on both feet so I utilized the last eyelet and that did the trick. Walked around the house with it to make sure it was a keeper until 20minutes in, my larger foot started to cramp up because the shoe was not a true wide size.

The shoe looks great except for the heel, very thick, didn't like the look. The shoe does run a 1/2 size small. I usually wear 7 1/2 but it was too short. Saucony is a comfortable shoe. Will re-order a different one. Thanks

So the deal with me is I have flat feet and wear orthotics, especially with a "sports" shoe. I used to wear Brooks and, big surprise, they changed the fit of the model I wore so nothing felt good ! Then I found these ! Overall, they fit great and accommodate the orthotics .. biggest issue are the socks .. if I don't wear the correct thickness the shoes don't feel as comfortable !
So for now, this is my go-to walking shoe ! Had to go a half size up from my "normal" size but very grateful that this manufacture recognizes wide feet !!
And as always, love, love. love ZAPPOS !! Been a VIP customer for years and years and considering my challenged feet it's been a great resource !! Keep on keeping on ZAPPOS !!

These shoes are pretty good. They seem to be a tad small in the shoe box. And I don't have wide feet.

While these are cute shoes, they are going back. Usually Saucony shoes in wide are actually wide, which is nice, but these are not. I hope they are not starting to follow the trend of making their wide shoes more narrow. Also, they have a very strong plastic smell. The smell fills a room!

Recently I bought a pair of New Balance shoes that didn't give me enough room in the height of the toe box. So I was attracted to the reviews that described the Saucony Echelon 5 as roomy overall and especially in the toe box to accommodate my orthotics. However, this shoe was a little too roomy. The extra material made a painful wrinkle where the shoe bends. This shoe would work for someone with a wide foot. You could try a half size down but I think it is designed to be very roomy in all sizes. I will try some other Saucony styles because I have been very satisfied with Saucony comfort and fit in the past. I like the removable shoe insert and a deep toe box. My large toenail tends to tear through the mesh fabric of most shoes. I wish all shoe makers would offer a heavier material over the toe area.

Size 12 medium felt too short with a tight toe box. Very disappointing with no bigger size to go to. As disappointing as Brooks Ghost with a continuing narrowing toe box. What? are they saving on materials by making shoes smaller?

I walk 3 miles a day. I purchased these in late March 2016. We're now in mid-July and a hole the size of a pea is worn through in the mesh above my big toe. They are very comfortable, however.

I need a wide shoe because I have had a bunion revision on my left foot - they broke the first metatarsal, reset it, plated and screwed it and then put a staple in the big toe. The soft tissue bump was shaved off and now I have an almost straight left foot that still has some swelling which is to be expected. I am 15 weeks post-op. I still have a bunion on my right foot though it is not as big as the left was and I don't have pain. I have ordered no fewer than 8 pairs of shoes in the last week looking for the right one particularly for my left foot. The shoe length on this Saucony is true to size and maybe a little long. The D width is pretty much spot on. The shoe has a leather strip right over the baby toe area and that is what concerned me. As I am still in PT working on range of motion and balance (I am a personal trainer and Pilates Instructor so complete recovery is essential) my foot is still looking for its "neutral" and some days I am under-pronating which puts me right into the baby toe. If you have a wide foot with no other complications this shoe could work for you. I sent it back. And while it shouldn't matter, I really thought it was ugly. I am going with the New Balance W940V2 in EE. It is actually a bit big.

These shoes are much darker and shinier than they look in the photo. They were comfortable, but I couldn't get over the look of the sole. As much as I wanted to love them, they just looked like orthopedic shoes to me.

Nice and wide toe box and love that my orthotics sit nice and flat in there but they build up a ridge inside around the ankle. It's painful. I don't know if it's the foam breaking down but it feels so hard it could be a wire

this is a follow up to my earlier review when I just got these. after just a few short weeks of wear i must update
this is the only shoe with no arch and a roomy enough toe box that is made for my extra wide feet and fits my orthotics. after just a few weeks of wear the foam or cushion around the heel inside has broken down and created a painful ridge making these a nightmare to put on my feet.
I had seen this same complaint mentioned in a review on another site!
So upset i have 3 pairs of these and they will last only weeks before they become torture devices

Fit great and was comfortable at first. After wearing a few times, there is a hard ridge in the back of the heel. Can't wear them now. Disappointed because I liked them.
