My shoe size is men's 12. The LG size of these socks is a bit snug in the toes. The XL size is just right. These socks are not stylish--but they are not meant to be. The padding on the sole makes them exceptionally comfortable.

Have not had these for long, but from the moment I 1st tried them on, comfort was amazing. Extra thick which I needed for some of my winter boots. I haven't worn them for a full day yet, but I am sure they will be wonderful as I've purchased others from Throlos and love them. Most comfortable socks I've ever had on. I used to strictly buy Gold Toe, haven't been fully happy with them in recent years. Now that I've discovered Thorlos, I may have found my favorite brand. These have a nice cushioned bed without binding. Wish they had more colors, would love to buy more.

I'm a big fan of wool socks in general and Thorlo makes GREAT wool socks. Over the years I've owned quite a few of their products including several pair of their Trekking socks that Just. Won't. Die. I don't go trekking any longer, but the Trekkers make great winter-time foot warmers for around the house. They're house slippers without the soles. This is my third set of Thorlo Hiking Crew socks in recent years. I've worn out the last two sets (3-pair Regular size, 3-pair Large size) and if it helps, this time I bought 9 pair of the Large (more on that below). That's how much I like them. If you wear hiking boots on a regular basis, and I live in my hiking boots (mid-height Lowa Renegade GTX; another great product that I've owned FIVE pair of!) the Thorlo Hikers are a great choice. They're just the right height on the leg whether wearing long or short pants. Their build quality is superb and the wool Thorlo uses is extra soft to the touch. I'm wearing a pair of the newest ones right now and can barely tell I have them on! Other reviewers indicated that the sizing is spot on. I wear a size 11.5 W (E), have owned both sizes of the Thorlo Hikers (Regular and Large) and for me the Large are a better fit. So if you have big, wide feet I suggest giving the Large size a try. For the sake of comparison, I also still own a few pair of Smartwool socks. They're slightly more durable than the Thorlos, but aren't nearly as comfortable. They also tend to pill and are shorter on the calf. Note that I had the regular size Smartwool socks (what their sizing chart recommended) and might have been happier with the next larger size. Anyway, that's what I think about the Thorlo Hikers. Hope this has been useful and, if not, maybe a little entertaining. :-)

The Thorlos Hiking Crew socks fuzz up pretty quickly within the first few uses. They are great, though. Very cushioned and comfortable, and they have just enough insulating warmth to be comfortable in winter. Your feet might sweat a bit if you wear them in the office all day. I use them for casual wear with waterproof casual-wear shoes.

In the tradition of our family socks and underwear are the gift the dog gives us every year. Luke the Wonder Dog only gives the best!

Is there such a thing as 100% cotton or hemp fiber mix hiking socks? These are not as good as socks I had from earlier that looked similar in the picture, but have no brand information.
