I swear by Arc'teryx jackets: high quality, super functional, and well designed. They are expensive but last a long, long time. I wear their Atom LT Hoody Jacket and got the Nuclei FL Jacket to wear when conditions are a bit cooler for activities like walking the dogs and slow snow-shoeing. It traps warmth, blocks wind, feel very light on the body, and keeps me toasty even though it's so lightweight in feel. I use the Atom when I am biking or cross country skiing, as it breathes better. The fit allows for a base layer and either a insulated vest or wool jacket under the jacket. I got a medium, which is what all my Arc'teryx jackets are, 5'7", 140 lbs, 30" waist, 40# hips, athletic to curvy build, again with plenty of room to layer underneath. The Exosphere color is a deep blue grey, and the outer material is shinier than the Atom line. Since it's a relatively neutral color, I've also been grabbing this jacket to wear when running errands.

This is my new favorite climbing below 40 degrees Fahrenheit jacket. I have been stuck on multi-pitches freezing hoping something could help stop the cutting wind and keep me warm all in one. I love how small this jacket packs up so I can always stuff it back in its sack before I climb and take it back out when I belay. I even use it in the city when I want something light and warm that will stop the harsh wind. I love the color which is a major added bonus. It hugs my body in a way that I can wear a thin jacket underneath but it's not restrictive in movement. The only things I would change on this jacket are adding a zippered inside pocket, and for some reason the inside of my elbows get really sweaty and the fabric will slightly stick to my skin but this happens no where else.

Great lightweight jacket for general use; whether that's warming up at the crag or a cold gym or out for a walk on a spring or autumn day. It also layers really well in those colder months.

I had never owned a super light insulated windbreaker piece before and I have been highly impressed with it since I got it. It's a excellent replacement for a light down or Atom and provides exceptional warmth but with less breathability since it's for wind too. I've used it for scrambling mostly - it was a great summit layer in the summer and in fall can go over an insulating layer to keep you extra warm in the wind. I even had it with me while I cycled through a thunderstorm for 2 hours and despite being wet I still retained body heat exceptionally well. That's what impressed me the most. However, it is way warmer than you expect for the bulk, so I've also sweated in it if I've chosen to have it on for an ascent or any higher cardio output and it gets quite wet in the sleeves.

Oh if a jacket could speak! Iv'e worn my Nuclei FL pretty much everywhere. Extremely lightweight/ packable and ridiculously warm and comfortable. The fabric never rubs on under layers and drys quickly. I wear it in a size up to throw over all my layers (shell included) while enjoying lunch on the summit.

Packs up tight and is warm for alpine and rock climbing. The fit is also not bulky, more feminine. I love the red color. I wish Arcteryx had more bold colors like this red.

I use this jacket for all kind of rockclimbing: Cragging, multipitch or alpine. It's a very resistant jack for belaying. It's syntetic, so its easy to wash and the jacket gets dry so fast.

This jacket accompanies me on all my mountain adventures be it single pitch and multipitch climbing, alpine adventures and backcountry skiing. If I had to pick only one jacket, it would be this one. It has an amazing warmth to weight ratio and packs up nicely into the stuff sack provided so I can clip it to my harness for multipitch routes. Because of its packability, it functions well as an emergency layer in my pack in case the weather turns. It has kept me warm even when wet and dries quickly. I wear it in my usual size small. It is roomy enough that I can climb in it without having my movement inhibited and also fits over layers when skiing. The hood fits very well over a helmet and the collar zips up nice and high to keep my neck warm and to prevent the wind from penetrating. It has stood up to a lot of abuse.

This jacket is the warmest, lightest layer I have ever had! It has a slick outer finish and I was stunned at the weight. By itself it is mildly breathable and under a parka keeps me toasty on the coldest of days. Packs small as well.

Love this jacket so much, it warms you up as soon as you put it on! It runs a bit large, I have a size medium and I'm able to fit more layers underneath versus other similar jackets I own.

I was looking for a jacket to keep in my pack for high-output, cold weather activities (fat biking and ski touring) - not to be active in, but to put on whenever I have to stop. The Nuclei FL is perfect. Incredibly warm, amazingly light, packs down tiny, and synthetic insulation means I can get it a bit sweaty and still stay warm! I cannot recommend this jacket enough!

great for static action at the fall/winter/spring single pitch sport crags. good for cold and short approaches and for belaying while your'e there. it does not breathe, so keep that in consideration. you can climb in it but you'll sweat eventually.

I bought this jacket in the fall to help keep me warm on winter hikes. I tend to sweat a lot when actually hiking but run super cold and freeze as soon as I stop. Also do a lot of hiking up to windy summits where I get very cold, winter or summer. I bought this jacket to wear at the summits and it quickly has become one of my favorite jackets. It's so light weight it's great for backpacking and to throw in your bag for day hikes. It is windproof and has great warmth to weight ratio, so will keep you warm when you reach your destination and want to enjoy your summit beer. It isn't breathable so don't get it as a mid layer for the actual hike if you sweat at all, which is it's only downside, but it is hard to find a windproof breathable layer. I bring this jacket on every hike I go on and use it all the time in town as well and it's holding up great. It's a looser fit to allow for layering but still is flattering to wear on its own. Soft and comfortable fabric.

Bought this as a warm layer for touring, so far it has been great. Super cozy but packable. Went with X-Small as using primarily as mid layer for skiing. Would probably size up if using as a belay jacket.

This is my first ever piece of Arc gear. I bought this jacket about a month ago and have been waiting for a chance to break it in. Finally got that chance camping/hiking in the Mojave NP this past weekend! First impressions of the jacket - it's super light, and I was worried it wouldn't be warm enough (I run cold). Turns out I didn't need to worry. It was MORE than warm enough, almost too warm at times. We did a sunrise hike up the Kelso sand dunes, which meant starting around 4:30a this time of year. Temps were below freezing, my face and hands were cold, but everything else was nice and toasty thanks to this jacket! You basically forget you're wearing it, it's so comfy!! It runs TTS and you can definitely fit layers under it. Worth the money and then some. Also, this thing saved my butt during the night. I hadn't brought a warm enough sleeping bag and was absolutely freezing as the temps dropped - I ended up putting this jacket on over my 4 layers of clothes (lol)...and actually got a decent night's sleep! It's pretty much the only thing that kept me warm. I can see myself loving this jacket for years to come. Buy it!

Got this as a present from my bf, and my first impressions were that this jacket is super light. You won't notice you wear it. The materials are soft and feels very durable.

I bought this jacket in the spring and used it as an early season belay jacket and fell in love with it. Used it as my go to jacket for backpacking and belays throughout the summer as well. Packs down small, is warm, and not as concerned about potentially getting it wet as I am of my down jackets. I hope they come out with more colours in this jacket in the future!

I bring this jacekt everywhere with me. Cold trips to the alpine, or a shady day at the sport routes. Even to a wedding when it got chilly outside! The fabric is soft yet durable on sharp granite, and the perfect amount of warmth. you can layer under and put a shell over it for extra weather protection. True to size and moving in it is so comfortable This will also be a piece of jacket I take on any and all trips.

I've been loving the Nuclei FL all spring and summer long. It's quickly become a staple in my pack for any adventure - climbing, hiking, sailing, touring, any outing really! It's equal parts breathable and cozy and packs down to nothing.

Fantastic jacket. Replacement for my Atom AR This one seems warmer than the Atom AR The fit is great - I am usually a small, but hate things that are tight in the underarm or shoulder I got a small, and I'm really happy with the fit. This jacket has a ton of room in the shoulders/underarms, so can definitely layer underneath without much difficulty or discomfort I'm told it's less breathable than the Atom line, but haven't had a chance to test that out yet.

The Nuclei FL is such an underrated jacket! The fit is great and it's lighter and warmer than comparable jackets by Arc'teryx and other brands. I think it will quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear.

This is the best layer and jacket. Daily driver all seasons in Alaska. I was disappointed that the jacket is Blue and not black at all. This is my second jacket in this design.
