Truly an amazing piece of gear. Very very warm for how thin it is. It fits great, very flattering. Love this jacket.

I needed a longer, warmer city coat after moving to New York from Utah, and this one fits the bill perfectly. This parka is so warm, even with blowing sleet/snow mix and heavy winds. The zipper does take some getting used to; you have to really have it seated properly and, being low, it's tricky to get it going at first. I seem to have gotten used to it now, so it hasn't been an ongoing problem for me. The sleeves are nice and long, which I'm thrilled about since I have a problem with them generally being too short. I really like the soft internal cuff, it keeps the wind and rain out nicely and my gloves tuck in well. The only thing I haven't loved is that the internal hidden pocket sits lower than I'm used to--from about lower bra band to my waist--so I have to unzip and unsnap the coat to the waist to get my items out of the pocket. I'm assuming this is because the coat is somewhat more shaped and they didn't want the pocket at the braline, but I would have liked it higher. Although the coat is a flattering shape I don't have an issue with the waist being too small, which I do with some other form-fitting Arc'Teryx jackets. My waist is about 30-31" and I'm wearing a size medium jacket that does have room for a couple of light/med layers underneath.

I needed a winter jacket that would keep me warm, protected from the elements whilst doing my day to day things in New York City in the rain, snow or wind. I have had this for a week now and will not be seen outside without it. It is the perfect outdoor winter jacket. The fit is perfect for me as it subtly sinches at the waist to complement my shape and has enough give above the knee to be able to walk about the city at pace without annoyance. I have received multiple compliments with this jacket already, and have shared and recommended Arc'teryx specifically on this jacket and will be wearing this for many winters to come. I would highly recommend. An extra small is perfect for me: 130lb, 5'4.

I was looking for a long stylish jacket that would hold up to wind and cold temperatures. This is 100% the jacket I was looking for! It's very warm and blocks the wind better than I was expecting it too. The hood is insulated as well which is wonderful since often forget my hat. It is not bulky at all and extremely light. This jacket has been great for walking to dinners and running errands to walks with my dog. I have gotten so many compliments on the style and look of this jacket! Some other reviews mentioned issues with the zipper- I had no issues. The jacket is longer so I dug my shoulders up to ensure the zipper stays on the bottom of the jacket and doesn't accidentally pull up slightly and not work.

Beautiful coat, perfect neutral color that's not grey or black. Fit is wonderful for such a warm coat. Flattering and doesn't constrict motion. Love this!

I purchased this parka for my daughter. This coat is a perfect match for the fall and winter inclement weather of Seattle. She tried the parka on and the fit was perfect. We both commented that it is the first coat that did not fit like a box. It is tapered ( at least on my daughter) at the waistline and sports a somewhat elegant silhouette. It is not heavy, yet it is warm. She has not worn it in the rain, but our experience with GORE-TEX has always been favorable. She can wear this to the office and on the weekends with ease. This parka will see a lot of use. I own the Norvan hoody which I wore during the 2018 Boston Marathon; I have nothing but kudos for the products made by arc'teryx !

I have never spent this much money on a coat but I am not sorry at all! This coat is wonderful. While everyone is standing outside shivering I'm toasty warm. The added bonus is that it's very attractive. I'm usually a hermit all winter because I hate the cold but I think this coat is going to change that.

If you are looking for a warm, stylish coat to get through the Midwest winters then this is your coat. My boyfriend swears by Arcteryx and has had this coat for over 10 years. He bought me the Patera as a birthday gift right before the Polar Vortex in January 2019 (the one where it was colder in Chicago than in Antartica) and it was amazing how warm I stayed and did not need extra layers. I even find in warmer winter temperatures (30-40 degrees) that I am not overheating from it either. The sleek design makes it feel less frumpy compared to other winter coats and I get compliments on it all the time. Another benefit is that it's not the exact same black Canada Goose coat that everyone else is wearing. I have the Flux color and it goes with everything. Although I typically like a fur around a hood to help keep my face warm, this hood is magical with the insulation. The high face/neck zip up also blocks the cold winds from chilling your face. The hand pockets are deep enough to put your phone in and sit down without worrying about it falling out. If I could change up the coat or make additions I would add a fleece lining in the section with the high zip up is just as another layer in case your face rubs against it. I typically wear a scarf so it's not a major problem but it could add value. The second thing would be to add a small zip pocket on the sleeve. Since I'm a city commuter and take the train, it would be great to have my transit card in the sleeve to tap on the scanner without removing the card from my pockets. All in all this coat is great for city living and I'm very pleased with it.

I may never have to buy another winter jacket ever again. I've been waiting to get a Patera for 2 years and I am so glad I finally have one. 40 degrees and rainy, 15 degrees and snowy, I am warm and dry. I chose the get the medium and I'm always a large in jackets and hoodies, but I am much happier with the more snug fit. I really don't need to layer to stay warm with this jacket. Also the Dimma color is the most gorgeous deep purple I have ever seen.

This jacket is very warm yet light and breathable! Now I don't have to worry about winter being too cold:-) I am petit at 5'3 so sleeves are a bit long for me but anyone over 5'4 won't have an issue. I love Arcteryx's minimalist style too! Very versatile!

Spend lots of time outdoors during winter. Wanted coat that was warm but had some style too. FOUND IT!. It had a zipper issue that Arcteryx replaced and now is better than new. Their service was excellent. This coat gets many compliments from other people. I like how it comes high up on my neck and blocks the wind and cold plus the hood can be pulled tight to keep my ears warm so no need for a hat. It washes up well too. It was pricey but well worth it and I get a lot of wear out of it.

love this jacket! I have been searching for a good quality, extremely warm winter jacket thats also waterproof which is a must have for Atlantic Canadian winters. I am a cold person myself so warmth is a huge factor for me. Even after trying on the Canada Goose Kenzington jacket I liked this one better, because of the waterproofing and the over all style and fit. after 2 months of owning this jacket I am a huge fan. with temperatures ranging anywheres between -3 to -20 degrees C, Nova Scotian winters are also very windy, and this jacket is perfect for it. the cut is extremely flattering and i've been getting so many compliments on it! its the perfect length too, I love the longer length for extra warmth and protection against the elements. I usually wear my Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan with this and its incredibly warm. on super cold days I wear my Marmot base layer as well and its incredible for standing/sitting still for 5-6 hours outside in -12 degrees for sporting events. so far no problems with the zipper, as many people have complained about it failing. I did buy a large, i'm a medium in everything else Arc'teryx but I wanted to buy this a bit bigger in case I want to use a thicker mid layer in extreme cold conditions. the only downside is how easily dust and salt stick to the jacket, its not very hard to clean off, just damp rag will remove it easily but it could be better. overall I am a fan of the Patera jacket!

Great jacket for city winter living. This is a beautiful coat, it has a great fit and is incredibly warm. Highly recommend it as someone who lives for being outside all year round. This is the jacket for you if you enjoy walking or being outside in the winter, you will stylish and warm. This is not a jacket for skiing in, or other high performance winter sports. Know what you are going to use it for, and the functionality you need out of a coat. The zipper is sticky. Hook your finger under the bottom when fitting the zipper together and you won't have a problem.

I bought this parka at the very beginning of the 2018 year, so it is my second winter wearing it. So far, it is the best winter parka I have owned. It is roomy in all the right places but it has a faltering design where it should too. It is warm enough to keep me toasty during the Quebec City winters, almost so that if you commute by bus, the parka almost becomes too hot (and I'm the kind of person who is always cold...). That parka is worth the price if you are looking for a "city look" but don't want to sacrifice on winter protection!

Love this coat! Lightweight, flattering and warm. I wore it one day in the 40 degree pouring rain. I was dry and very warm but not noisy or bulky. A little roomy through the chest, but not enough to be a deal breaker.
