I bought this backpack because my precious North Face one (purchased 4+ years ago) finally started breaking down. I generally use the backpack for school (I am now a college sophomore) and for traveling as a carry-on. Similarly to the old pack it's very lightweight, but can still hold a lot and is comfortable (that said, the straps are a little scratchy on my arms when I'm wearing a tank top). I really like the new laptop and tablet pockets, they make me feel like my devices are a lot safer then in previous versions of the pack. I purchased the blue (it says green on the site but clearly is blue) and grey diamond design backpack and love the simple, but fun design. I would definitely recommend this backpack to everyone as it is durable, functional, and stylish.

After a visit to Yosemite we were inspired to get our son a North Face bag for school.

Yes - this was a gift... to a College student at Western Carolina University who has very limited resources and was in desperate need of a new backpack , She was afraid to ask if we could possibly help her out with this expense, but with some moderate coaxing, we got her to acknowledge it sure would be nice to have a new one ! We made it happen for her, and she is absolutely gracious, grateful, and ever so thankful to now be able to keep her books, papers, etc., dry and safe for the upcoming academic year in the mountains of our beautiful North Carolina.

Great backpack. Got this for my college age son and he loves it. Fits his computer and supplies comfortably.

I use the product at school and it works fantastic for carrying books or anything you need.

This backpack from NorthFace is amazing. Now with all the space and padding I can run and walk around easily with a backpack on my shoulders and going down and up the stairs is much easier on my back when I have a heavy backpack that day.

Currently using the backpack on a trip as my carry on bag. Plan to use this when riding my bicycle and need to carry items to classes.

I bought this backpack to use at college and I love it! It is plenty big and sturdy. The colors and style are also very cute.

We can all agree that a simple material thing as a backpack can't change your life, but oh boy, it sure has given me motivation. I've been the type of person that gets motivated by simple things. And now.. With my Recon backpack I no longer feel the burden of waking up earlier and going to college, I feel motivated! Wearing my Recon reminds me of the wide world that's out there. And that a thing as a "simple" backpack can do wonders for me. So I'm not telling you that by buying this backpack your life will change.. But it can certainly give motivate you to do things you simply left behind.

I've been using this backpack for my whole middle school, high school year I love this back pack! It's super durable, and can take a lot of stuff. I recommend this backpack for either traveling or even school, its perfect for most everything!

I use this backpack for college. It had plenty of room for my binder, textbooks, and laptop for that day. It's super comfortable.

This was a gift for my girlfriend(ht 5'2") going to medical school. I got her the black and light blue backpack. She loves the colors and the backpack is really well made/sturdy. I was thinking about getting her the surge transit but the backpack was really big. the water bottle holder also holds a big waterbottle which is really useful.

My first both face backpack, and I couldn't be happier. The dedicated laptop sleeve fits my laptop snug and is easy to access. There is more than enough room for books and or cloths for a trip in the large compartment while the secondary compartment fits all your loose belongs as well as a tablet. Love the dual bottle pockets and the mesh net in front is great for chargers or anything you need quick access too.

I absolutely love my new North Face Recon backpack. One of the main reasons I purchased the backpack was for school purposes. Not only have I been able to utilize the backpack inside of the school setting, it's also extremely useful for hiking and carrying miscellaneous items. The airflow vents on the backpack really help to cool your back down making it especially comfortable for carrying heavy items for longer periods. I previously owned a North Face backpack and it has lasted me for over 6 years!

It's great so far!

I purchased this for college and I have to say it is a great product. All my school stuff fits in there, even my laptop without feeling much weight. The harnesses and the padding just make that much greater.
