Wear these for working out. Feels comfortable. Runs true to size. I am a 30 inch waist so medium for me. They are a bit tight but wear nicely after a few wears.

I wear these compression shorts for sliding protection while playing soccer. They are comfortable and breathable. I am 5'10", 155 lbs, and the medium fits me perfect.

I've read some reviews about needing to purchase a size or two larger than your normal size. This is all dependent on how you like the feel. Personally I order the size I wear. They are snug, but still comfortable. They are meant to be compression shorts, so I don't mind the snugness.

These are solid compression shorts. I was a big fan of the previous Pro Combat iterations, and while these are different, they do not disappoint. Main differences is the fit and the material's feel. I used to wear size small in all of the Pro Combat versions, but I had to go up a size to medium for these. The smalls were way too constricting. Along those lines, the material is not as smooth and stretchy as the Pro Combat line was. These have good support, moisture wicking, breathability, quick-drying, and offer nice compression on the quads and hammys.

I am a large guy who was looking for something to help prevent chaffing and I cannot believe how well these shorts do. It can be daunting enough considering the seemingly impossible road to getting in shape, these eliminate the number one difficulty I'v had in trying to power walk. That said, I've only been using these for a week, I do plan on purchasing more so that not just one pair is being used and washed over and over. The good news is that now I know the investment is more than worth it. These shorts do not ride up or down at all on me, they stay put! I have one concern though, I am not the most "endowed" man in the nether region, embarrassingly enough, and these put quite a discomforting tension on mah lads. I'm new to this, I've been told its to keep everything in place. If you're a fellow that can rival a horse or with twins that would make a bull blush, proceed with caution.

I play a lot of tennis. A year ago I tweaked a hamstring while playing and thought some compression shorts would help (most tennis pros always wear some sort of compression clothing while playing). Found a couple of pairs of these Nike shorts at a local store. They helped a great deal, keeping my upper legs warm and providing some protection against muscle pulls. I've since taken to wearing them every time I play as a preventative (they've worked, since I've had no recurrence of the injury). I recently wanted to buy a couple more pairs, but could not find them anywhere. Zappo's to the rescue. Ironic that a company famous for shoes would have these, but I'm not complaining. I would not wear these as underwear, as they are quite tight ("compression"), nor would I leave them on all day. But, for athletic pursuits, I find they help a great deal--especially since my muscles are not as young as they used to be. There are other brands out there that are much more expensive, but I can't comment on them. I'm not interested in paying three times as much. The Nike shorts work for me and for my application. They've held up well--I usually wash and rinse them out in the shower after a tennis match, which keeps them clean and, I suspect, is easier on them than the washing machine.

These are slightly longer than the Nike Pro Core Compression 9" Short 2.0, which is fine. The Pro Core shorts have a good length and slightly longer is good too. Overall they are just a little less tight than the Pro Core shorts. The crotch is more comfortable in these Hypercool 9" shorts with the way the pouch is designed. The waist in these Hypercool 9" shorts is a good size, not too loose, but the problem is the waistband does not stretch very much, so it is very constricting. The shorts are not too small, and neither is the waistband---it just doesn't stretch enough. If the waistband was more like the Nike Pro Core Compression 9" Short 2.0, these would be my daily underwear. Like the Pro Core shorts, these Hypercool shorts use polyester/spandex which is not as good as nylon/spandex. They are better as underwear than as compression shorts. In both shorts though, the inside tag is sewn into the waistband with the same threading used in the product--the tag is itchy and removing it can easily damage the shorts. I wish Nike wouldn't tag them this way.

The large is too small for a 32/33in waist, size up to an XL at the very least. Also, since when does this come with a built-in cup pocket? Definitely gotta protect the family jewels from bad-hop grounders when I'm running on the treadmill at the gym. No mention of this in the description either. Returning immediately. Also, Material is definitely not the same as past years. Very disappointed
