Let me start by saying my foot size is 13-14 EEEE or EEE. So for me it's hard to find shoes like these that really fit well. The one great thing about Asics is they really hit the mark correctly in width. This will be my second pair of these shoes after I wore out my first pair over the last 2 years. Yet when I put the old shoe up against the new, the width is still spot on. So kudos to them for getting that right and maintaining it, not every shoe company does. Design improvements. Yes, even know the shoe looks almost exactly the same, there have been some slight improvements. 1) The mesh netting that was on each side of the shoe (where your toes put on the most pressure) is now smaller and supported better with additional leather straps. This was a weakness in my pair from 2 years ago. The mesh netting on the sides was larger and not supported. So that is where the shoe broke down first. The mesh eventually broke and ironically I repaired it by sewing leather straps to support the sides more. 2) The thickness of the sole is just slightly deeper now. The sole was the second thing that broke down on my old pair. I wore it out and now that they're thicker, they should last longer under the same circumstances. Overall, the quality is good, price very fair, sizes/width are true and accurate. You get comfort and support that you can count on daily. I walk around all day at work in these and they feel great. Really good, comfortable shoes. Originally designed for cross country but I wear them for pretty much everything--mostly circle training. They're not as flexible as your typical running shoe, but that's expected from a X-country runner. However, their out-sole is very cushy and the width is perfect--not to mention the style and color combination; just perfect for me. I've been a huge Mizuno fan for years, but lately, ASICS has come up with great models--and for much lower $$ than Mizuno. I still like Mizuno though, but for your money, ASICS gives you a much better bang for your buck! And of course, you can't go wrong by ordering from Zappos. I placed my order on a Wednesday afternoon, and it arrived the very next day! How they manage to ship next-day for FREE is beyond my imagination, but greatly appreciated... :)

The Venture 4 is the shoe that I have worn for the past 2 years. I am even more impressed with the fit and function of the Venture 5. I may have to order another pair to have on hand!

I have been trying to get my husband to stop wearing white tennis shoes I had to take things into my own hands and pick a few styles he might like. He put these on yesterday and loved the fit, the size, and the overall comfort! I'm planning on ordering a few more ASICS styles and ditching his white tennis shoes soon. Thank you!

I love this shoe. I have two pair and I purchasing a third right now. I buy everything on sale. For the price the gel-venture 5 is a great shoe. My favorite feature is the sole, this pattern holds up well. Unlike a few others that Asics makes. No names will be mentioned for now. Thx, hope this helps.

Excellent balance of performance and value

Been wearing NB for years but find their new shoes are so stiff(soles) like walking on 2x4's. So I switched over to Asics and Nike. These shoes for $60.00 are a great value. Not as comfortable as the Gel Nimbus but for the low price, I won't complain.

These shoes really made my feet hurt when I got them. There was no arch support, so I went out to buy insoles for them. Add the cost of the shoe to the cost of the insole and this is the real price.

This is probably the worst shoe for running that I've purchased over the past 5 years. I run 5 miles 4-5 times a week. On the first run, the bottoms of my feet ached, my calves ached, and my heels were rubbed raw. "Just breaking them in," I thought. After several more runs (with bandaids on my heels), the same thing. I just walked back after going .75 miles because the pain. The weird thing is... my previous pair of shoes were Asics.

Great fit and comfortable for long walks, hikes or all-day wear. They could breath a little better, but you can't expect goretex at this price point :)

This is a great shoe for the price. I'm a pro trail runner and I train in real rugged rocky terrain. I go thru shoes so fast and destroy them so quick. This shoe has great traction on even wet rocky trails, good arch support and sole hasn't come apart ( not yet). But they will, that's why I got them. To test them and put the thru hell. I'll shred them in three months, about my norm. If they last four months, I'll get another pair.(:

Comfortable, fit great, just not the traction I was hoping for. I would recommend this shoe.

Nice light shoe, feels like it has solid construction and will last. Good support. I generally wear 8.5(US Mens) to 9. The 9 was too big.

I purchased these shoes for my son, who has narrow feet and plantar fasciitis. He loves them, says that they are very comfortable and ease the pain of his plantar fasciitis. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely purchase these shoes again. By the way, I own a pair of Asics that I wear for walking/jogging and they are among my favorites.

Great fitting shoe and amazing look. I love some of the color schemes used by Asics. This shoe was also particularly light which makes it for a really nice running shoe. Can't beat the price either and believe me, I looked everywhere.

For those who have wide feet, you know the challenge of finding shoes that are actually wide and comfortable. The ASICS Gel-Venture are AWESOME! Bought these for my husband, and he was shocked that they were actually wide enough for his hobbit feet, as was I because we've tried so many shoes. These were a winner.

Wide Foot and High ARCH ASICS NEVER lets me down. ! this pair is great too ! fit just right. great Value. Buy em !!
