These barefoot-style shoes are exactly what I was looking for. They have a generously sized toe-box to allow your toes to splay naturally, they fit like a glove, they're light and they're adorable. Running. They're wonderful on soft surfaces (track, grass, dirt trails) and even on pavement if you're a runner with a light foot strike. They didn't offer enough protection from the elements, for me, on rocky trails - but they're not listed as a trail-running shoe, so it's not fair to ask them to be something they never claimed to be. Gym. I have loved them in the gym. I've used them for squatting, deadlifting, box-jumps w/ step-downs, burpees, double-unders and pretty much everything in between. I would not want to do a lot of high-rep box-jumping in them with a step-down or jump-down technique - in the same way that I wouldn't want to do this if I was barefoot. There just isn't anything to protect your feet from the impact. Other. I've tried them with socks and insoles in, no socks and insoles in, etc, etc and my preferred wear is no socks no insoles. Because of this, I've thrown them in the wash a couple of times, with a load of towels for some protection and they're holding up well and smell-free. Overall. I'm so glad I found these! If you're looking for an "as close to barefoot as possible" experience, with some added protection, you may've just found your shoe!

I have worn an earlier version for years for my gym workouts and they work great and last a long time. I wanted to move my barefoot experience to the tennis court. These are the ones for tennis as they have more grip on bottom. I played last night and loved the feel and sense of groundedness. They don't have arch support as the barefoot experience makes your foot muscles work and create the arch your body naturally has. My Achilles tendons gets sore sometimes but that is because I am working them rather than shortening them with regular shoes with a raised heel. True to size - I bought 37 and usually wear a 6.5 or 7.

This shoe is great for a wide foot, but not one that has a high instep. I took out the small insert and it was still to tight, so I had to send them back.

I bought these for racquetball, which require good shoes to be quick on your feet and sticky to the court, and they HURT my feet. There is no cushion between your foot and the floor at all, and no dorsiflexion or plantarflexion support so I found my tendon to be very sore after a game. Returning for some different shoes.
