Lowa (try typing that with the Zappos spell check) discontinued my go to hiking boot so I thought this looked like it. It does look like it and fits like it BUT I think it is for more serious hiking. I hike 5 days a week on a local trail, yes, steep but not the Sierras. The ankle is too high for my comfort, and I like ankle support AND YOU HAVE TO THREAD THE LACES THROUGH THE TOP TWO EYEHOLES INSTEAD OF SPEED HOOKS. If not for the lack of speed hooks I may have kept them despite the too high ankle.

I usually wear a 8 1/2 in shoes and a 9 in running/workout shoes and figured I’d wear the same for hiking boots (to allow room for thicker socks). However, the only size they had in stock was an 8 1/2, so I figured I’d try them. They fit perfect! I wore them straight from the box hiking in Colorado and loved them!

These are very comfy and offer a lot of ankle support - I wasn’t sure if a shoe with such a high ankle would be comfortable or not but they definitely are! Hiked 3-4 miles on the first wear with no break in time and had no trouble at all - they are on the pricey side but I think they are worth it!

Great out of the box. Hiked for a week in CO without trying them first (always a risk, I know) & they were great. Felt very stable and supportive up & down rocky trails. They seemed to hug my average-width foot better than other Lowas, in a good way. Also truly waterproof! I stepped off a log into a creek up to my ankle & my foot stayed totally dry! These are not lightweight boots, but I don't want that in a hiking boot. If you like a sturdy rugged hiking boot, these are great.

These are so stylish. Very on trend and not sure if that was by accident because they are clearly high tech mountain boots. I bought them more for the fashion and to keep my feet warm and dry in the Georgia winters. And then I can bring them when I go home to PA. They are true to size. Listen to the reviewers. No need to size up. Even with thick socks. I usually get a an 11 in all of my running shoes/sneakers. I got my true size ten in these and all is well. The 10.5 fit okay as well, but I felt the gap/slip in the back even with hiking socks on.

Combat Barbie: Desert Storm Edition. These boots are not only rugged, they are cute af. The shape is flattering and the nude color is just really attractive. I am in love with this boot! I hike 3-5 miles everyday in the PNW and these boots are great for spring and fall terrain.

The fit is very true to size. Sometimes I take a 1/2 size larger if I wear thick socks but this fit perfect. Great support and easy to put on.

overall impressed! like others, I don’t get a chance it break them in but did a mild elevation 7mi hike and they were amazing! From cushioning, to support, to the light weight feel I could have hiked further easily. even ran half a mile of one the inclines in them. have another repair coming directly LOWA any day now. Absolutely worth the investment.

On a positive note, I wore them out the box for a 2 mile hike with 800 feet of elevation and they did the job. Felt half size larger than needed but will work out well when wearing for longer, colder hikes and I need thicker socks. The material was quite stiff out the box. Didn’t feel a lot of arch support but plenty of room to add my own which I prefer. Very good ankle support. Still early days but I like the simple look and it seems they will hold up for a long while.

Loved these!!! I used them to hike throughout AZ & Utah without breaking them in and had 0 issues or blisters. Sturdy, supportive & a good grip!

Love these boots!! Wanted to wait to review them until I wore them and I can assure you they're amazing! I usually wear a size 7 1/2 in dress shoes and a size 8 in athletic shoes and boots, and the 8 was perfect fit. I bought these for a hiking trip and intended to break them in beforehand, but never got around to it. Brand new, right out of the box, I wore them many miles a day through steep and sometimes rugged terrain and my feet felt great! They are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Great purchase, highly recommended!

This is my second pair of these boots. I hike hard daily and I love the support these boots have to offer. The are the best!

The boots were true to size but got looser when I was hiking and had to re-tie the laces a few times. I would prefer hooks.

The boots it`s wrong size, the size bigger to half.

My first time trying on my new hiking boot… I was very excited to try them and go on my hike. So I went on 1.8 mile hike. The bail part of my bottom foot and the side of my toes where hurting.
