It pains me to give any pair of Maui Jim sunglasses anything less than 5 stars because I love the brand. It took me ordering 12 different pairs of sunglasses to finally find a (nearly) perfect pair. The reasons I'm given these a 4-Star Overall are threefold. 1)I wish these were the SuperThin Glass lenses instead of the plastic lenses. 2)This pair does NOT have the higher quality spring hinges that are on my Palms and Pearl City sunglasses. Seems a needlessly cheap shortcut, especially given Kalenas cost $50 more than Palms or Pearl City. 3)I have nothing against things made in Japan, but the Maui Jim sunglasses I have are both made in Italy and are considerably more substantial and well made than the ones I've tried that were made in Japan. I don't know the reasoning behind some MJ sunnies being made in Japan vs. Italy, but I wish they were ALL made in Italy. Since this pair was the closest to meeting all my very specific needs though, I would recommend them.
