Great coverage, love the chin strap for windy days!

I have had one of these for several years, taking it everytime I went on a trip. It is light, can be packed and carried easily, even in a brief case, water proof, and adjustable. When I noticed a big discount, I jumped and grabbed another one for my spouse, who is very happy with it.

This was a gift for my son. He has been hung up on a cheap bucket for a year now. I bought this hat to help him look presentable. It is made well with quality fabric. It is super light. It looks sharp on him.

Lived up to the other reviews! I bought this hat wanting something for walking around the city and hiking when it's sunny. I like the smaller brim. Only 4 stars for style since it's not the cutest thing, but I also didn't expect it to be. As soon as I got it I wore it on a trip to Tahoe and it was was comfortable and kept me shielded from the sun. I got the pewter color and it was darker than I expected it to be - still a good neutral.

Purchased this awesome hat, the fit is perfect!! I love that had the string under my chin for windy days while kayaking. The first trip for the hat will be Puerta Vallarta, Mexico over Christmas and then on to Maui. Thanks for timely shipping the hat.

Great hat to keep the sun off your face and neck. Went thru several hats this golf season, and this one is a keeper. Very light and packs well in the golf bag. Easy to maintain, and looks better with every washing.

Great fit, stays on, use the strap in back like a Marine and it stays put in a stiff breeze. Great sun protection even with a narrow brim because of the downward angle - but doesn't make you lift your chin to see what's in front of you. Best part is that you can toss your baseball cap, protect your ears from the sun, and use this full brim hat when you're backpacking - the angle of the back brim stays clear of your backpacking pack. Yay for OR!

This Sun Bucket Hat is a great lightweight option to keep the sun off of you on those blazing hot days. Lots of little features packed into this hat, to include it's ability to be rolled up and shoved in a pocket or day pack. Not to mention you can size it down for little ones. The hat offers great protection for the eyes and head from the sun. Vision is very good when details matter with or without sunglasses

I haven't had it long enough to know how it holds up but so far so good.

Light weight and adjustable headsize string make this a very useful garment.

Like the hat. A bit warm but really like the short brim.

Very Nice to walk with

Hat stays put during power boating with no brim to flop. Minimal sun coverage but better coverage that BB hat Will switch to large hat when fishing.

Fits perfect, you can barely tell you are wearing a hat!

I use this hat for sailing in hot environments. The brim is big enough to provide sun protection on my face and neck, but small enough to allow visibility in all directions, including up the mast, and stiff enough to resist the wind. My only complaint is that it doesn't breath well. But there is a nice sweat absorbing rim that fits softly against the head on the inside.

I bought this hat at the MEC last summer and used it locally for general sun protection on hotter days. It got its real test last month when I spent five weeks in West Africa. At this time its the dry season there and anywhere on or near the coast in Senegal, The Gambia or Ghana is hot and incredibly humid. This hat soaked up the sweat admirably and although the brim became soaked and dripped continuously, the hat stayed comfortable, kept its shape and offered the protection I needed. Inland in the Sahel it was much hotter but way drier and the hat performed well and stayed dry, keeping the sun from frying my skull. When its this hot, no hat on earth can cope perfectly, especially with the excessive humidity, but this one is way better than anything I've ever worn before. You get real protection from the Sun Bucket, a great companion for serious heat. It only got four stars because I honestly believe no sun hat on earth could realistically earn five.

Good hat, but runs a bit tight. I'm usually on the cusp between medium and large hats, around 7 1/8 or 7 1/4. So, I ordered a medium and it was too small. I'll probably get a large in the future, but would caution folks to go bigger if they are in the margins between sizes.

I have a collection of hats to protect my balding melon. The Sun Bucket could be the best all round choice for travel, hiking, fishing,... But the problem is lack of breathability. In the hot sun, even the lightest color Sand Grey starts to be so hot that I have to take it off regularly. Dear OR, please make this hat with mesh panels so that a little air can pass through to help with cooling. I would recommend this hat but not for hot weather or high exertion activities until OR adds mesh to the crown.

I loved my former Sun Bucket. It was lost. I tried to replace it , 2X. Both hats were too large. I ordered the same size as the lost one, and then, one size smaller. Perhaps the hats are made by a different provider now.

Strictly as a sun bucket this hat does a great job. It is a bit of a weird fit however with a very deep bucket and therefore an oddly low brim. It is not a flattering hat off or on your head. If you don't care about appearance go for it!

Looks cute but too small, should have ordered up a size. Not great protection for sun but it is for rain.
