I knew the Birko-Flor would not look exactly like leather. But it is really tacky looking - it is shiny and plasticky. It looks cheap and the shoes do not feel like they would hold up to much walking.

These sandals need an adjustable toe strap. The straps on the toe are way too sloppy for my narrow foot. The ankle strap was loose, even on the tightest hole. I need a pair of sandals for walking around in and these are versatile in style, casual enough for shorts, dressy enough for dresses. The sandal was so comfortable, with great arch support, just way too sloppy for my thin, narrow foot. I am really disappointed! I had to return them.

I bought these in black and had high hopes, but they just aren't going to work for me. I had the same issues some others did - the front straps are much too loose, and my foot moved around quite a bit. I am not a foot expert, but I think mine are fairly average (size 8, regular width). I got these in size 39 and the length fit well, but I think I could have done a 38, too. I would say these are true to size, but definitely not a narrow width. I'm sad to send these back because they were almost perfect, but the front strap is a deal breaker.

I love these shoes, and they are comfortable on the bottom - but the side straps kill the side of my toes. I just wore them around my house for a night and had to return them. I am so sad.

I have been a loyal Birkenstock fan for 20 years and wanted to try something a little more fashionable so ordered the Papillios. I was so excited to try them on last night but unfortunately - after wearing Birkenstocks, the Papillios don't cut it for me comfort-wise. Papillios have much less arch support and won't work for me as an all day sandal. I have recurring plantar fascitis and am a former runner so need that strong support. Also, the little Papillio button on the side of the shoe was uncomfortable and going to give me blisters. I hope Birkenstock can make something this cute someday!

There is not much to love with these shoes. I'm a solid size 5 and the 36 were ridiculously large. The footbed was stiff so would require a significant break-in period, it seemed. The worst part of these shoes, though, was the smell! I thought a chemical factory had suddenly opened in my house! I'm sticking with some Naot's and sending these giant, uncomfortable shoes back immediately.

Read before wasting your money!! I was in search of the perfect music festival shoe that I could wear all summer and do lots of walking and dancing in. Since Birkenstock is the name brand known for "hippie shoes" I thought these would be perfect. Well after only attending Bonnaroo (my first festival of the season) these shoes were done! The sole of this sandal actually cracked right at the base of where the ankle strap meets the sole. After spending over $100 for a shoe, you would expect it to be much higher quality. I feel that these are way over priced for the lack of quality. I will not purchase anything by this brand again. I loved these sandals from day one, super comfy with no issues right out of the box. BUT...they are the most poor quality made shoes for the outrageous price!!!!
