The comfort level due to the flex panels (the black areas on the upper and tongue) combined with the memory foam heel cup, shaft collar and tongue gives this boot a significant advantage over the competition. This boot has the most natural and secure flex at the ankle I have ever experienced without any lace biting, pinching or hot spots. The flex panels allow for a completely snug comfortable fit without having to over tighten the laces to prevent excessive internal foot slippage while descending or braking. Those flex panels have flexible Gore-Tex. The Last on this boot is slightly wider than the Last on the Scarpa Kailash. The toe box has average room so long as you don't need a thicker than average insole. The arch support is average to low in my opinion and the sizing is consistent presuming you base your sizing on a 1/2 size up for comfort approach. I wear a 10.5 in most of the models from the major brands and this one is no different. This boot uses a great outsole that allows for a natural gait and has high self cleaning properties. This boot is clearly a leap forward in comfort. The only negative, if you can call it that, is the fact that Scarpa uses EVA for the midsole. While this may be fine for many people and their uses the fact is that PU, polyurethane, is far superior in durability, longevity, support and stability. Scarpa implements PU in other R-Evolution models, with different technical features, but those are not sold here in the U.S.. I would hope that Scarpa will add a PU midsole to this boot in the near future so that it can compete on the same level of support, durability and shock absorption as their Kailash. Zappos, best brands, best service, simply the best!

Over the years I’ve worn out four pairs. This is the hands-down the best hiking boot on the market for Long distance Hiking The balance between light weight and Durability is Remarkable.

These boots are amazing! I bought them for a trip to Colorado and they were so easy to break in. They might seem heavy at first but the support is great. The rocky trails were so easy these just rolled right I er them. I would say that I will have these boots for years to come. They are quality built.

Great boots spent about a month breaking them in before the first trip and ended up with one little blister on my toe. These are so light on the feet and have a great walking stride. They saved my ankles more than once as we were on a really rocky trail. Highly recommend these boots. Waterproofing was great as well and never noticed my feet sweating.

Very comfortable straight out of the box and break so far has been seamless. I wanted a light but sturdy pair of boots for backpacking and this pair has performed very well so far. I also own a pair of Zen Pro but they were too lightweight for a heavy pack.

Incredible boots. Comfortable out of the box, no break in required. The lacing is smooth as silk and molds the boot to your foot. Great grip and great support. They work very well with crampons and snowshoes as well. Just did a winter ascent of Mt. Bierstadt in them and they were warm, comfortable, and performed great. Highly recommended.

After many other tries, including Salomon, this boot was true to the reviews of offering a narrow last. This fits as a 13 Narrow. Very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Hot spots everywhere even with Darn Tough padded socks. I get that they are supposed to be like a sock but these are by far the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn. The sizing is also way off. I'm a 10, so a 10.5 should give me room to spare. It was a struggle to put these on even with thin wool socks. Garbage.
