Love the split finger design and you can use it either way so it's not mandatory can be used like a regular mitt too. I find myself switching between the two configurations depending on my task or activity. Best part is there's nothing to change but your finger arrangement and you have more warmth or more dexterity. It's that's easy! They are also the warmest glove and keep me warm every single time, these gloves don't complain. Also very easy to put on an take off. Worth the price.

I finally got to try these out today, snowblowing in 24 degrees, and they did keep my hands warm. (I'm waiting for a day that's much colder to really test them.) My fingers do get cold easily, and these so far do the trick. So with regard to warmth, I give them 5 stars. As for fit, be careful, as they seem to run quite small. Before buying, I went to the Black Diamond website for a sizing chart, and if I had followed it I would have bought a Small. Instead, I bought a Medium -- and it was very tight. I since exchanged it for a Large, and it is a much better fit for me, albeit a little *too* large. They're fine, though. There are complaints about the separator for one's index finger. It is a nuisance, I agree, but you do not need to put your index finger into it. You can just keep four fingers together, separate from your thumb. I would use the separator in cases where I need extra dexterity, but don't count on these do give you much in that department. Thus I gave 3 stars for "comfort." As you can see from the picture, the cuffs go pretty far up above the wrist, and that's good. I guess, then, "style" rates a 5. I'm very pleased with these mittens. I suffered long enough with ones that were inadequate.

These mitts are exactly what I've been looking for. Because of peripheral neuropathy, my hands have been extremely sensitive to the cold. They kept my fingers warm while I wa cleaning away the record snows in very cold conditions here in New England. The mitts have a soft thick liner that truly envelopes the hand, The only negative aspect has been that finding the hole for the thumb is not easy. I consider that to be extremely minor. If warmth is what you want, I highly recommend these.

I have been looking for warm gear to cover my hands in winter for a long time! I have worn gloves that were supposed to be warm but they failed me! So I decided that it was time to go to the mitts! These are highly rated for a reason. They are warm, comfortable and fit over my Arctyrex Fission SV sleeves perfectly. The mitt has a separate space if you choose to use it for your index finger as well. You won't have the same dexterity in these as you would gloves, ie. cannot even zip my jacket until they loosened up a bit. But for warmth - these are primo! I would highly recommend them. The fit is true to size. I always wear size L in a glove and the L fit me fine in these.

They fit well and were comfortable. They look good, too. But ultimately they weren't quite warm enough for me. The gauntlets also were not large enough to easily fit over the sleeves of my winter jacket. Maybe I'm particularly sensitive to cold, although I have never been diagnosed with Raynaud's. I found a discontinued 800-fill down mitt from a major competitor and now I'm happy.
