I am a student using the bag every day to haul my laptop, iPad, notebooks and various sizes of textbooks. I'm very impressed with the pockets for my laptop and iPad. They are off the ground, and well-padded so I don't need to worry when I put my bag on the ground during lecture. I am an office-supply consumer, so I was a bit disappointed with the lack of organization for pens and pencils etc. I feel like they could have had more than just two loops for those, but this bag is also used for reasons other than school. My favorite part about the bag is the flex vent. I walk to school and I normally had a sweaty back and chest where the bag was against my body. This backpack has already proved to help with that. It's an amazing ergonomic design, this bag is perfect for hikes.

The only thing I don't like about it is that its not very good at standing up on its own.

I love it! It is very comfortable. I wish it had a few more pockets so I could organize my chargers better but other than that I wouldn't change a thing it is great.

Got this for my husband for an upcoming trip. Great size, lightweight. Lots of compartments. I like the fleece lining for electronics. The chest strap and hip strap help to evenly distribute weight. Best looking backpack and very roomy!

Intended for office use.

I carry my laptop, including charger, two folders, and two notebooks on average everyday. It's a perfect for just that. When it comes to a heavy load when I need two texts book in there, it gets really tight.

Really like this backpack, it's very roomy and can hold a laptop, ipad, and textbooks.

I bought this for my 8th grader who needed a new, more durable backpack for school. Unfortunately, when we received it, she piled all her school stuff inside and found that it was just not large enough to hold everything. The bag itself is very sturdy but just not wide enough to accommodate her school issued iPad, 2 inch binder, books, lunch bag and gym clothes. The front of the bag has elastic cording which is great to hold a wet towel etc but not practical for school items. In the end, we upgraded to the Recon which has 4 more inches of space width wise and two front pockets instead of the the elastic cording but ultimately the same. The bag is very comfortable and made very well. Her posture is better since wearing it so I am glad we decided to go with a North Face bag. She has only been using it for a week so I can't speak to it's long term durability but it seems like it will stand the test of time.

I ordered this after arriving at school and realizing I forgot a backpack. I had noticed that a lot of other students at my school had the same one (or older versions of it) and I totally understand why. It is the perfect size, protects my iPad and MacBook, and also keeps out water when it starts raining suddenly. Fits my needs perfectly. I also love that it has all the little pockets in the front and two water bottle holders on the sides. The only con for me is that the straps are a little uncomfortable, but hopefully I'll break them in and get used to them. Great product.

This is my school backpack & it's great. It fits plenty.. I carry all my books around at all times so maybe that's why its always so tightly packed & feels like it's could be roomier

Schoolbooks, computer and/or bike commuting to work.

Bag is great for carrying laptop and items for work, good support and comfortable. Bag is long in length versus width. Good for paperwork and files. If looking to carry gym cloths or supplies I would suggest other bag.

Nice book bag

The size is exactly what I wanted. The bag is small and lightweight but it holds everything I need for my classes, including a laptop. I frequently fly across the country and I think this will also make a great carry on bag. The storage compartments are great for organization.

I use this for school and it's works great! First north face backpack and I love it! Fits all my books and supplies. Many pockets and zippers to put extra stuff in. Great product! Only problem was that the "white and grey and teal" backpack that I ordered looked like it was a white color but it actually is a darker grey tint.

My daughter uses this backpack for school. It fits all of her books and is still comfortable for her to wear. It has deep water bottle pockets on the outside that are great for carrying water to school and sports.

I use the backpack for school and I absolutely love it. The pockets are very roomy and I feel like I can fit all my binders and textbooks inside. The only con I have about this backpack is that it doesn't sit upright when i set it down during class. It tends to fall over a lot. But overall I think it was a great purchase and I absolutely love it!

The overall weight feels heavier than expected.

I use it for school but everything fits. It's son convenient. Love it!!

I used it for my school bag and it seems to be working great. I found it a little small, you wouldn't be able to put a lot of big books but defiantly some.

I'm just packing it now for a trip to S. America. Seems roomy, but I'm limited a bit on space with the hard back and weight is heavier than expected when empty. I am allowed only 11 lbs on the Peru train and since this starts at over 2 lbs, I feel limited. I hope it's durable, but I trust North Face products. Just took one of the North Face jackets with zip-in liner to New Zealand and loved it.

I use it to carry my class material, and I love how it looks and feels. However, its uncomfortable to wear with sleeveless tops, cause it kind of scratches on my shoulders.

I use this backpack for school and it is so durable! It is also very comfortable. The only problem is it is a bit heavy but I carry so many books around it isn't a problem. I also would like a little more space.

I bought this backpack because I thought it was time to invest in a nice backpack that can hold my school laptop, school books/notebook for my last two years of high school and then later for college. It has managed to do all of these things and you can tell that it is definetly durable and I would recommend this backpack to anyone especially high school/ college students.
