Great grip and looks like they're well made. Bonus that they look like normal shoes for before and after riding.

I needed a wider tox box for biking and this delivers. As everyone recommended, I went a half size larger than normal and it was perfect. I will say, that I ordered two other shoes by the same brand and they were incredibly narrower. This one resembles a skateboard shoe and fit me really well. And great grip on the pedals.

Great shoes for Mountain bike, little stiff but that’s the purpose. Excellent grip on the sole, an alternative for those who prefers flat pedals. I’m happy with the purchase!

I bought two pair, one for riding my mountain bike and the other for kicking around town. They fit great, they work great on my bike and they look great!

I wear 10.5 to 11. I ordered 11 and fit great. Great biking shoes. Just what I needed for downhill riding.

I love this shoe. Took a while to break in, the sole is stiff and there is not much cushion. But I love they way they fit and look and once they did break it they are in my regular shoe rotation, often at the head of the pack.

tl;dr: Five Tens are the best shoe on the market for flat pedal mountain biking and the Freerider Canvas looks and wears awesome. If they have your size in stock, buy it. The long-winded version: It bears repeating that there is no better platform than the Five Ten Stealth rubber sole for mountain biking with flat pedals. IMHO, it just comes down to which Five Ten style you like best. I've been riding with the standard Freerider for a few years now. I mostly ride rough, rocky trails with lots of drops and enough rock strikes to wipe out the average pedals. The Five Ten soles hold fast, even over the roughest of trails and the worst of my rock-striking clumsiness. The stiff sole keeps me stable and eliminates the fatigue that lesser shoes cause. The one thing I've never liked about the standard Freerider is it's "puffy" look and the not-so-durable woven panels. On my big feet (13), the puffy look is kind of clownish and the woven panels have taken a lot of damage. My wife says they look terrible and I shouldn't wear them out ¯\_(?)_/¯ The Canvas model has always looked good to me on the web, but the inventory has been low for months. They've never had my size, so I finally just order a size up -- I'm glad I did! The extra room in the toe box is perfect and with a more supportive in-sole (which I normally wear anyway) my feet don't slip around at all. I think the Canvas looks much better than the standard model and the upper is much more durable overall. I really like the blackout color scheme. I'm definitely going to be wearing these around town and for my office commutes. I hope Five Ten starts producing them again so I don't have to hunt the web for overstock when these finally wear out!

My husband has difficulty finding ANY shoes that fit him well -- he wears a 14B or C and most large shoes are wide widths -- and cycling shoes are no exception. These seemed to be very well constructed with grippy, rigid soles, but unfortunately they were just a little too wide to be completely comfortable, so he returned them.

This is the third pair of Five Ten Freerider Canvas shoes I've bought, all, in different colors, still in working condition. I'm a committed transit cyclist and bike around ten miles a day, year-round (in Atlanta), except for rainy days. These shoes are pretty near perfect for me. They're good-looking and durable. Although the stiff sole is efficient for cycling, it still makes for a comfortable walking shoe. The canvas uppers breathe nicely in the summer and provide adequate wind shielding in cold and windy weather. Also, given my vegan preferences, I like being able to find a non-leather shoe that meets my needs.

Got these two weeks ago and have worn them all day/everyday since to break them in....wasn't needed. Very wide toe box (nice!), very flexible, comfortable, no break-in required. Have used them on my MTB for about three days now. Incredible "stick" to the flat pedals (best of those I've worn), easy to maneuver on the pedals when needed, no "foot fatigue" at all on longer rides. Will check wear as I get more MTB miles on them. They're terrific...and gathering some kudos in the casual wear arena as well. Great service from Zappos as usual...Braaap!

I love it. Fits true to size and the slightly stiff sole helps with the pedals. Only wish that there was something to secure the loose ends of the shoelaces.

Love the color! Canvas is much stiffer than suede! But still comfortable and fits to size!

Great shoe, probably, but not for casual use. Definitely built for mountain biking, with a very stiff shank.

Toe box narrow and on the small side for size 13. adjusted well with stretching trees. Soles work well with spiked flats.

I have wide feet and these are perfect!!! I wear a size UK 10 and with fair amount of Adidas that seems to be true size. Unfortunately not the case with these, they are too short. Also, note there is little to no padding between sole and your foot, very solid shoe, you are gonna feel the ground, I wouldn't suggest these shoes for hiking or jumping off of things. Material and styling is great very much in keeping with skateboarding shoes of a bygone era.

These are good looking shoes, and seem well made. Stitching is good, and the fabric used seems durable. My only complaint is the soles have near 0 cushion, not very supportive of my arch, and the factory insole doesn't help. I highly recommend finding another insole to add support and cushion, though you might need to go up half a size to accommodate thicker insoles. I'm using an old gell insole I've had for years, and that has been helpful, and didn't cause me to have a sizing issue, but your situation may be different. Overall though, I'm pleased with my purchase.
