Great sneakers for my twins! We have been buying the Euro model but going from Euro model to this style we went up 1 - 1&1/2 in shoe size. It was a bit of a shock so I wanted to let other buyers know there is quite a size difference in these shoes. I think I prefer this model now that my boys are 4 and 1/2. The Euro's have been perfect for younger kids/toddlers due to a foot on the ground feel. Now that they are a little older these seem more like a "real" sneaker than a toddler shoe due to the cushion and base of the sneaker. This is my go-to brand for all of my kids as we have never once experienced a blister or poorly made shoe.

I ordered the size down at first since many reviews say Tsukihoshi shoes run large, though with this style that was not the case. They fit true to size so I had to return the smaller ones and buy his normal size.

At first I really liked these shoes and they fit my son very well. Unfortunately after less than two months of wear, they are falling apart already have rips and holes in the tongue of the shoe. He is five years old. We previously used the stride rite washable tennis shoes and never had a problem. He could wear them for six months with almost no signs of wear.

My 3 year old loves these shoes. They do not rub his feet and give just the right flex and support.

My son loves these shoes. It’s our third pair. He asked for the same pair every time he needs new shoes (bc his feet grows but because the shoes are worn out).

The shoes were initially very cute and comfortable. However they were falling apart after less than one month of wear. I’m wondering if perhaps these are not authentic Tsukihoshi shoes as we have not had a problem with this brand before. The fronts of the shoes came unglued and a hole wore through the front. Definitely not worth the cost to get a month of wear.

Love these sneakers. Fit great and easy to put on. I have put them through the wash a bunch of times and they still look great.

I loved these
My son did not. But I think because he is 2.5 and likes a more minimal shoe.
quality looked great though. Was bummed to return. I think when he’s a little older will do well with shoes like these.

These sneakers last half a year with every day wear. I can't ask for more because we outgrow them!

The fit was great, this is my child's third pair of the same sneaker. He loves it! Now if I can just find a waterproof version, that would be perfect for rainy days! (LOL)

My son has been wearing Keens for a couple years but he is now 5 and wanted to pick out his own shoes. He chose these & I ordered them half a size larger than I would have ordered in Keens because I was hoping to get some extra time, but he will probably grow out of them sooner than I hoped. I probably should've ordered up a full size but I was worried about him tripping. The shoes are excellent quality and very sturdy. They have a nice, wide toebox and easily accommodate his high instep, which has been a big obstacle in finding shoes for him. They do not bend as well as Keens but I'm still quite happy with the support they offer. And they are easier to get on or off than Keens, which is great. Overall, I'd purchase them again. They are so cute, too! He got the green camo color.
I'd also recommend:

Just right. Would be too wide for a narrow foot.

I bought theses shoes for my son. These shoes ran a little big but no complaints because I know he will eventually grow into them. The colors are very nice and have an almost retro look to them. I highly recommend these shoes

This is my son's 3rd pair of Tsukihoshis. He has a wide foot and this brand has been very comfortable for him. We ended up trying a couple of sizes this time, though. He was wearing a Tsukihoshi Storm in 12.5 (and they have stretched a bit so still fit him well enough to use as junky shoes to wear around the property) so I ordered a 13 in the Velocity only to find it too tight, though the length seemed fine. The 13.5s fit well in the width and the length was, oddly, not too big. And he loves the color (green/orange)! They are very lightweight and, as always, we love the machine washability. Also, the insole is removable for quicker drying and checking the fit!

2.5y old son liked the blue/green/silver colors, and quality looked good. However, a half size up wasn't big enough to get his large instep feet into the shoe. We ended up with New Balance procourt and half size up in that brand fit well with a little room to grow.

Fit and size were fine, but shoes got a hole in the toe after only 6 months of normal wear and tear.

We have been buying another style of Tsukihoshi Kids (Kaz) shoes for a few years now, so I thought if I just follow that sizing, it would be fine. I really wanted a shoe with more like a running shoe. My son is wearing 10.5 right now in the other style, so I bought 11 in this style (velocity), and it was very difficult to even put the shoe on. We finally managed to do it (he really wanted them!) but they were clearly too small and taking a few steps was impossible.
I really thought the sizing would be similar to the other style (Kaz), but it's at least a full size off, if not more. We decided to get size 12. We'll see how that goes.
Otherwise, they are really nice, and look like they have lots of support. My son picked the color and was so excited to wear them. Unfortunately, they don't have the color he likes in the 12, so there is that.
It's a bit of a hassle to have to return. However, the 3 star review is really for the sizing being off, not just between different brands of shoes (that happens), but within the same brand! That should not be the case!

Fit and look were overall good, but the heel counter was surprisingly weak. My son's doctors have made clear that a firm heel counter is really important for his ankle development, so we had to return. I was surprised, since Tsukihoshi advertises their strong heel counters.

The size and fit were both great. But the quality is terrible. We’ve had them for a week and the material is peeling all over. The sole has started falling off and tearing — and these are only worn for preschool. So expensive for terrible quality. I thought I was upgrading from his Saucony shoes but we’re going back to those because they held up well and are half the price.

These have been my kid’s most comfortable shoes over the last few sizes. He has narrow feet and it’s hard to find shoes he doesn’t slide around in or twist his ankle in because they’re too roomy in the width. Each pair has held up well, they dry pretty quickly if you put them in the sun, and the sole is grippy and cushioned without being too tall. It took us a little bit to find the right size to start, but once we did, we’ve been able to size up by half size each time he has a growth spurt. If these are too narrow for your kid, try some of their other styles. I like that they offer different styles with different widths.
