This has a nice almost barefoot feel. The arch has a bit of support which I'm not sure I like, but it offers more heel and foot protection than a true barefoot shoe.

I love the Merrell barefoot shoes. Notice that there are fewer and fewer each year. Which leads me to think that they are phasing them out. I would not say that these are a true barefoot shoe like Merrells vapor glove which to me is an exceptional shoe. This shoe offers the wide toe bed which I love, but there is arch support which I am not keen about. Barefoot shoes do not have arch support. The shoe is not that flexible, but not so stiff that I cannot flex as I walk. I really do not like the arch support the most, but as there are fewer of these types of shoes to choose from, I am stuck with what they offer. I would say this is a shoe that is between the vapor glove and a regular sneaker. Makes me believe they may be transitioning that way. Not happy about that either. I am keeping these and purchase two more pairs and I will wear them for winter walking.

Similar to the Pace Glove 2 but a little larger, which usually is a good thing. However, it means that the arch hits my left foot wrong, managing to aggravate both foot and knee. Also, I prefer a more barefoot shoe, but the aforementioned knee demands both minimal heel rise and some padding. Forget even trying to match the arch... The search continues.

Very comfortable shoe. Especially like the wide toebox. Not as supportive as other running shoes I've owned, but this is more of a minimalist shoe. I use it for kettle bells and boot camp.

When I first took them out of the box and looked inside the shoe, I thought oh no this is never going to work. Then I tried them on, and they actually felt great! They have a lot more arch support than they appear to when you look at the footbed. As I get older, my feet are getting pickier and pickier about what shoes I can wear. (Decent arch support for me is a must.) I tried these on with a pair of skinny jeans and they looked good. So many sneakers do not work with skinny jeans! Looking forward to wearing these when I will be doing a fair amount of walking. Thanks Zappos and Merrell!

Cute, lightweight minimal sneaker. I crossfit in them and the only complaint I have is, the purple rubber/plastic striping that runs across the top of the shoe near the laces, puts pressure on the top of my (mostly just the right) foot when you bend your foot to jump or run. It's not unbearable for an hour or so but if I was going to wear them for more extensive training, I'd prefer a little softer material in that area. Also, I had to order down a half-size even though I have Merrells.

The front part of the sneaker looks a bit odd. Looks wider than the rest of the shoe. Made my feet look like "duck" feet.

Needed a lightweight shoe for travel and lots of walking and the Pace Glove 3 is light. But there's some kind of a connector across the shoe by the tongue that makes the shoe hard to get on. Not very comfortable. Have to return. Thank you Zappos for quick service and an easy return policy.

I have the Merrell Pace Glove first editions, and they are very comfortable to wear, even without socks. Across the toes on the older Merrell's on the inside, there is a very soft fleece type fabric that gives and is non abrasive. Someone decided to replace this fabric with a stiff hard vinyl strip that is scratchy, and will no doubt leave a blister within 1/4 mile. They are also more difficult to get on. Why didn't they just leave well enough alone and keep the original design? I wanted a solid black to wear for travel. I'll stick with my old multicolored ones. If you plan on wearing socks with yours, you might not have this problem. They take so little room in a suitcase, not to mention how fast you can run for a plane if you are about to miss your connection. Will someone please tell Merrell, "If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!"

I think I have the older version of this shoe which I love so I hoped that this shoe would have the same fit but they do not. They are very flimsy.

This low-profile shoe looks really good and if the arch support was removable I would have kept them. If your feet fit normally placed arch support these should be fine, but mine don't and these were painful.

Like many others, I'm trying to replace the original Pace Glove. That was a flexible, relatively low profile shoe that while barefoot still had a good layer of protection between the foot and the ground. New shoe has an arch that doesn't fit my foot, and is no longer low profile. It's more of a shoe than it needs to be. I also ordered the Vapor. That's too barefoot for me. Virtually no shielding. So here I am, the Goldilocks of Merrells waiting for the right shoe to return.

I also agree with Anonymous. I have been purchasing all the Merrell Barefoot and Glove "old" styles in my size that I can afford. I have two pairs of Jungle Gloves, 1 pair of Glove ballet flats, four (4!) pairs of barefoot MaryJanes and two pairs of "heavy-duty" Mary Janes that are superb for walking. How I WISH I could buy these new... a selection... interesting colors. LEATHER!!! I've written to Merrell and received this reply back "I don't see any of these styles coming back." Why? WHY?

Please bring back the original pace glove. By far my favorite shoe. The others that followed do not compare in the slightest. In fact the pace glove 3's are one of the most uncomfortable rerunning shoes I have ever had. Please, I also beg you to bring back the original pace glove!

I ordered these because I loved my previous Pace Gloves. I have a pair of originals, and a pair of Pace Glove 2s. (My favorite is by far the originals, and every time they change them I like them a little less.) These were my least favorite from the beginning because they look cheaper with the weird shiny plastic trim design. I have had this pair for 4 months. I wear them about 3-4 times a week, usually to work (where I sit at a desk - not much walking involved, so I don't expect my shoes to wear out quickly). After only 4 months, the sole is separating from the shoe along the outside of my right foot (near my pinky toe). This is very disappointing. My original pace gloves have been going strong for years with only the wear and tear expected from a shoe worn for years. My second pair (PG2) also has no damage, and is wearing very well (though not as well as the originals!) These ones are going to have to be replaced now, and I expect shoes that cost this much to last longer than this! Now I'm hesitant to buy another pair, when previously these were my favorite shoes.

Bring back the originals! My original pace gloves pretty much disintegrated on my last backpacking trip. I loved those shoes and put a lot of miles on them over the last 3-4 years. Tried on a pair of the pace glove 3 and was shocked how far they were from the original. Zero-drop heel? Nope. Unpadded minimalist foot bed? Nope. Wide toe box? Nope. Nothing about these are barefoot/minimalist. I went to eBay and bought every old school pace glove in my size that I could find.

This is supposed to be a barefoot shoe and it has arch support. Too much arch support. No thank you! I returned them.

At first I loved these shoes. I agree the older versions were better, but this was good enough. That was until the top mesh part ripped. I had them less than 3 months and now there was a big hole in the top.

I had an earlier version of this shoe and loved it - it was great for running, hiking - even very steep and rocky trails, and for crossfit. I wore them til they were falling apart. I bought the Pace Glove 3, and something was digging into the top of my left foot. I figured I had a defective one, and exchanged it for a new pair. The new ones were good for about 3 days, then the left shoe again became very painful. It seems like the leather (plastic?) reinforcement on the top of the shoe doesn't bend properly, and is so uncomfortable they are unwearable. This is really disappointing, as these had been, in the earlier model, a fantastic shoe.

I have had several pairs of barefoot sneakers from Merrell and the new versions are so disappointing. These are uncomfortable and caused stabbing pain in my right foot when I walked. Also I bought the teal and orange and the colors were really silly looking in person. Bring back the originals!

I read the reviews that these were not as good as the original Pace Glove. Wish I'd listened because they were right. Weird material around the lace loops is stiff and digs into your foot just walking in the house. Merrell, bring the old Pace back!

The original Merrell Pace Glove's were the perfect running shoe for me. I was sorely disappointed when the version 2 was released and lacked any wide widths. I was hoping with all the similar comments I had seen from other users needing wide shoes that version 3 would refill this gap. Sadly, it has not. I tried some regular width shoes hoping maybe the redesign had widened the toe box. No luck. My pinkle toe rests on the edge of the footbed. Please, Merrell make wide barefoot running shoes again! My 3 pairs of originals are getting very worn. I have tried several other shoes and none of them fit like those did.

I couldn't wait for the Pace Glove 3 to hit. I proudly opened my package when these beauties came in the mail. Unfortunately this version of the Pace Glove disappointed! This is no longer the minimalist shoe I am accustomed to wearing! What happened Merrell?! Please, please stay true to my original barefoot experience! Very disappointed in the third model. I'll keep 'em because I have every version of the shoe thus far but I'm definitely repurchasing the Merrell Pace Glove 2 for my daily running shoe!
