I hike about 20+ miles a week, and trail shoes come any way you like them these days. These Oboz seem to be the closest to a real hiking boot, in a shoe. The sole is thick with great tread and offers incredible stability, which may seem stiff compared to trail running shoes. There's a lot of arch support and the molded rubber toe even seems to be tougher than most. This is a really rugged hiker in a little/light shoe. I'd say it's even more stable than the Patagonia Drifter, but lighter and not as bulky. On the other end of the spectrum is the very popular Merrill Moab, with it's extremely flexible and bendable sole. I hike very rocky/gravelly trails so I personally prefer the stability of the Oboz. On the other hand, they're a little stiff for every-day use for me, and I only wear them hiking. Hope this helps.

My husband has been wearing Oboz for a few years and loves them so I was glad to be able to finally order a ladies' Oboz. These are really nice shoes--more like a light hiking shoe than a running shoe and perfect for walking in town and in the woods. They are light weight, comfortable and fun. They were a little stiff at first at the ankle, so I don't recommend a long hike until they are broken in a little. The arch support is pretty good although not as good as the Patagonia shoes. I usually wear custom orthotics but did not need them with the Oboz because it has pretty good arch support built in. I recommend this shoe and would buy it again.

I like the looks of the shoes, except for the tire like treads for soles. I have another Oboz shoe that fits well in a 9½. This style felt a tad big. I thought it felt heavy on my foot as well. So, I am sending them back.

I liked everything about these shoes except the back dug into my ankle by the Achilles tendon and that was a dealbreaker for me. You can see in the photo how the back of the shoe angles in, and I found it to be uncomfortable.

i usually purchase keen because i have a wide foot and a high arch, but keen sneakers are not what they used to be, they seem to wear out quicker than they did a few years ago. this shoe provides excellent arch support and has a wide enough toe box to accommodate for the width of my feet. comfortable out of the box. i have only worn them around the house, so i may update this review later.

I did not expect to adore this shoe as much as I do. It is wonderful for going anywhere that requires or that you want to do a lot of walking. My feet never hurt, they are incredibly stable and perfect for city or country walks. I find that I am even wearing them in the house now if I’m doing housework and caring things around because of their stability. I wear them at the gym I wear them in Zumba I did not expect to adore this shoe as much as I do. It is wonderful for going anywhere that requires or that you want to do a lot of walking. The lining was feeling a little droopy after a few years, and Oboz sent me a replacement pair of inner soles! Incredible.

They fit perfect and were comfortable wearing right out of the box . Didn't have to break them in. Thanks Zappos for letting me try on and return previous picks without question. You are the best

I bought these to wear on a trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos. I broke them in by walking and they gave me such good support and were so comfortable right out of the box that they are still my everyday walking shoe. In fact, I've been wearing them all day on a lot of days. I've got plantar fasciitis and these shoes offer enough support that my feet are comfortable all day.

These are very durable and sturdy. They accommodate a wider foot with their wide toe box. They handle my high arch and thus, high volume foot very well. I wear through shoes fairly quickly, but these really last. Stable, good tread, grippy on rocks and other surfaces, flexible enough, good for hiking and working and walking and standing. They breathe, no gore tex, which is nice for summer and autumn. I highly recommend these shoes and oboz in general. I’m here today to buy another pair, my second pair of this shoe and my third oboz shoes.

I was wearing these shoes for over a year, and needed a new pair. Perfect replacement! Felt comfortable and ready to to as soon as I put them on - with my custom orthotics. They are a cute color and as stylish as you can get for a hiking shoe!

Great shoes. Sad to say they are shaped in a way that didn't quite fit my brace. So close. The search continues for a good light hiking shoe.

This is my second pair of Oboz, and the reason I keep coming back is the great construction, soles and wide toebox. I have plantar fasciitis as well as bunions, so a wide toe box is a must, as well as having great shock absorption in the heel, which Oboz definitely delivers. These also fit what I was looking for in a summer hiking shoe- ventilated, non-waterproof so my feet don't melt, and great, grippy sole. I do with they came in different colors however. And, as anyone with Oboz shoes knows, the insert is very supportive but also extremely stiff. I put a pair of memory foam Aetrex inserts into my Oboz which my feet appreciate.

This is my 4th pair of Oboz, from low cut breathable hiker to lite trail shoe, & second light hiking boot. I have a wider than average forefoot and narrow heel. This brand just fits well, and has been comfortable in all these different lasts.

Best shoes. I wear them with an wool sock that fits me perfectly too. I wear them all the time into New York City showing houses and when I'm shopping at target I make sure I have them on because I can move quickly and surefooted in them. I hiked once or twice in them and I walked to my gym . I walk more now than I used to since I bought them a year and a half ago I love them and recommend them to everybody. They are nowhere near as heavy as those ankle hiking boots made of leather probably wear mine five days week.

Nice material nice looking hiking sneaker, really like the turquoise color, but they crunch my toes even in thin socks & r a little narrow. Hoping a half size up will work.

Nice light-weight, well-made hiking sneaker. Even in thin socks, the size 8 felt like a 7 1/2. I’ll go up a half size and hopefully that will work.

I really wanted to like these shoes as I've heard great things about Oboz, and they're some of the better looking hiking shoes around. However, the fit was just wrong. The back of the shoe really rubbed around my achilles tendon in an uncomfortable way, and the length seemed too short for my toes. I always wear a 10B in every shoe, so I was surprised that this shoe would be too small. I considered that I may need to go up 1/2 size in a hiking shoe, but I can't imagine that would remedy the problem with grip around my tendon. If you can find the right fit, these did seem to be very supportive and cushy.

Have had these for a few years. Use them for hiking in the NC mountains. I wear a 7.5 and they feel true to size. I have a narrow heel and they don't slip at all! They are great hikers and a great low top option. Good traction too.

These are comfortable. Just beware, they are not gortex nor have any waterproofing. I ended up with soggy feet after a surprise thunder shower. Arch support is better than average but not excellent.

They didn't fit me right, the sides rubbed against my ankle bones. I don't think breaking in will help with that so returning them.

I really wanted these shoes to work. I have the hiking boots, and absolutely love them. But these give me blisters on my heel. I've worn them three times now. I tried wearing them with two layers of socks and wearing a large band-aid on both heels. Neither option worked very well. I'd return them, but I've thown away the box.

I am very pleased with the fit and durabilty of my Oboz Wawtooth hikers so tried these as an alternative design, I wanted something that had a different look but the same great comfort as the Sawtooth. Unfortunately these have a little different construction around the back of the heal, the shoe pushed in on my Achilles tendon quite a bit, so they are going back.
I'd also recommend:
Still a fan of Oboz.
