Purchased as father's gift for my husband. Everything was perfect but sadly these run half size smaller. He wear Merrell size 10.5. Ordered this Oboz in 11but his big toe touches the front and has zero room so not good when hiking. Wanted to order 11.5 to try but sadly it's out of stock.

Only have a few days in these shoes so this will be a short term review. I'll write another in a year since I have till then to return them. Great grip on wet surfaces (rock, grass, pavement, and tile). Comfortable feel on my feet but still lets me know what I'm walking on. As for the insole, it's complete trash. I had to take in out and replace it. Had ankle, knee and lower back pain after 10 minutes of walking around town. Stopped at a local drug store and picked up some off the shelf inserts and what an amazing difference it made. In short, great boot worthless insole.

My 1rst pair of Oboz. Had them about a week. My Merrill's which, amazingly enough, Ive had for 5 yrs just started coming apart. Like like the Merrill's, I went up 1/2 size from my normal shoe size. They were a little tight at 1rst but after a day or 2 of wear and putting shoe horns in them they are perfect now. I can honestly say I can walk in these all day. I haven't done any actual woods hiking in them but I have worn them on the street all day with good comfort. They seem to be solid built. Time will tell the longevity of them.
I'd also recommend:

I own a lawn care business and have wore this boot almost every day for a year. In my line of work, I can average up to 6 miles a day. I have been through a lot of boots, and this is the most durable boot I have worn to date. The other day I found myself having to walk through a soggy bottom several times. The water was well over the laces. My boots were soaked and covered in mud. To my surprise my feet stayed dry. I would rate this boot a 5 if the toe box was a little wider. I would highly recommend this boot

Bought for Winter use, and so far no winter. I thought the width was a tad to narrow, so brought back to see if they had a wide. the salesman said this boot didn't have varying widths, so I kept. Will see when winter sets in how they fare on my feet, but know thicker socks will be out. Will have to wear thinner socks to not get that to tight feel. Wish that they had more choices for width.

Overall a really good hiking boot it just happened to have a seam on the inside that was putting pressure on a sensitive part of my ankle bone. Noticed the issue on the trail about an hour into my hike and had to continue in a lot of pain. Ended up rolling up an extra sock to try and add some padding between the boot and my ankle but it didn't really help. The only relief was taking them off.

Well constructed, thick leather, sturdy shoe. Am still breaking in but fairly comfortable. Had to get a thicker insole to take up space as they seem a touch wider than my usual brands which are Vasque, Salomon, Teva, and Columbia. The loops holding the shoelaces are kinda tight...I can see difficulty threading them when it comes time to replace.
I'd also recommend:
Salomon, Teva, La Sportiva, Vasque (before they got bought out), New Balance, Lowa,

Have had these hiking boots for only about two weeks and they have accumulated only about 5 miles of walking, all of which has been on pavement. Check back in about six months when they will have accumulated enough use to write an accurate review!

The boot is very comfortable. It does take some breaking in, so before you go on a long hike, walk around some. The arch is very high and firm, so be aware. After wearing them several times, my feet got use to them and they became very comfortable. They offer excellent support and hold up well on a longer hike.

My last pair of shoes were $250 Merrells that fell apart after a 4 day hike to Lassen Peak. I really have no idea how well these will hold up through some major hikes yet, but they do feel very sturdy (so did my Merrells). I have heard some pretty great reviews from LL Bean, as well as the Oboz website.
Some pros I noticed initially:
They're very light. My last pair were dense and super heavy, and while these feel very strong, they're not a burden to haul around at all.
The padding around the ankle is really nice and soft, with a cut-away at the back that allows for full range of motion.
The tips of the toes are slightly raised up from the floor, and because they're so stiff and sturdy it sort of propels you forward as you walk. This could be useful for when you're in one of those moments of just putting one foot in front of the other to simply "get there".
They grip really well. So far I've biked to work in the rain in them, walked around my apartment complex after the rain when all the car oil spills are lifted up from the pavement, and no slipping. Not even if I run. We'll see how they do when I'm crossing a log that's fallen over a river.
They're very comfortable. I'm wearing wool socks and it's just right. Not too hot.
True to size. I went in blind and ordered the "11.5 EE" online without testing a pair (there was a sale ending soon). The representative from LL Bean suggested that I get my true sizing. I am a true sized 11.5 with a very wide foot, but I can hardly ever find that size in a EE Wide, so I always opt for a standard 12 to make up for it. Luckily I was able to go with what's more natural to me. The results are great! It fits pretty snugly, but none of my toes are smashed together, and I have room to wiggle and keep circulation. They still need to break in, which is why my feet are a little bit sore right now. I have a good feeling they'll be really comfortable once they break in.
The laces are thick and hold together very nicely.
Buying from LL Bean gives you the benefit of a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
So there you have it! I can't say that they're tried and true yet, but once I get out there and ruff them up a bit I'll have to come back on here and update.
Cheers!

I hike about eight miles in the Smokies. These are definitely waterproof, surprisingly grippy on ice and slush (unexpected). They run true to size and are stylish. I could feel the break-in occurring first my arches were killing me, after my arches felt relief then my toes hurt, then the balls of my feet. I could not wait for the full break-in time because after the hike, my feet and, for some reason, my knees were in a lot of pain. My knees were out of commission the rest of the day and I did not feel like getting out of bed for the rest of the day. It was a huge bummer. These boots were not for me, but that is just me. Do not let my specific review stop you because these really are good boots with a lot of good attributes.

Well designed with quality. Soles are great and good support for all conditions. My only beef is they do not run true to size. I had to return my original order of size 11 for a size 12 and now they fit well.

The wrong color boot is pictured. I was expecting the brown suede yet Sudan is charcoal gray. The quality of the boot is great yet I am disappointed with the misrepresentation.

Although they are billed as "wide," they are not as wide as most other footwear billed as "wide." Feels closer to regular or even narrow.

I should have bought wide or extra wide I guess. I will just keep them and wear a thinner sock maybe. Try them on if you can before a purchase online. Good boot overall just get the correct size.

Nice pair of shoes, very well made, but do not really seem to be an 11-1/2 in size. Feel more like a 10-1/2. Feel good when first put them on, but after having them on for 3+ hours, toes really start complaining. Need to return them for a 12-1/2 pair.

I like this boot. I like the tread, the look and the feel of this boot all except for the narrowness and uncomfortable tightness of the forefoot. I don't have wide feet and have never bought any shoe in any larger width than normal but these boots hurt.
I wanted the boots to work out and stretch out a bit but ultimately after wearing them around inside for hours I felt I needed to return them. Some say there is no break in period but for me there apparently is. So if I kept them and if after 2 months they felt like slippers then great but if not, if they still have that narrow tightness, then I own boots I won't wear so back they went. I tried a half size bigger but that did nothing for the width and unfortunately Oboz does not make a wide version for this color. Pity because that may have solved the problem.
Bottom line... nice boot. Nice features. Way narrow.

I need a boot that is truly waterproof. I'm not walking through standing water but, with the humidity in Texas, I am walking through wet grass every morning. I purchased these in May of 2018. By December 2018 one of them had started to leak. They are great looking and are otherwise in really good condition but now, my sock stays wet. In effect, they are no better than a tennis shoe for me at this point. If waterproof is your priority then I wouldn't recommend these to you.

I am on my 4th pair of these boots and they are not waterproof! Pair after pair, they have all soaked through. I purchased them because I like the way they look. I am a delivery driver, and I am not sure why they are advertised as waterproof. After about a week or two of wearing them, the water starts seeping through....and shortly after that, they will soak through completely. My feet get completely wet. I have had Gore Tex boots in the past that are waterproof. If these boots were actually waterproof, I would have given them a much higher rating.

The boots seem pretty sturdy. My only gripe is that they're tight. Nowadays it seems that ordering a size is meaningless. Ordering the same size can yield a too large shoe that swims on my feet or one that encourages corns. This one is of the corn encouraging variety. If it remains waterproof and I can wear it more than a year, I guess that's all I can expect nowadays. Hopefully, my right little toe will adjust to the so-called ee width.

I had high hopes for this well-made, light weight boot. However, the footbed did not conform to my foot at all, putting a hump under my heel. Also, The sole of the boot is a bit strangely rounded off at the back of the heel, making the the boot feel less stable than one might like. For me, they were unwearable.

Very narrow. I typically wear a regular width, but bought these in a wide as many reviews noted that they run narrow. They're right!

Super comfortable but the water proofing doesn't last more than a few months and the stiching starts coming apart in under a year.
