When I was searching for boots, I really wanted someone to review this and the Kamik Jennifer together...but no one gave it the rundown I was looking for! So, I've ordered my Hunter Original Talls and a pair of the Kamik Jennifer's and here's the scoop, y'all: Sizing the Kamik in 10 is the same as a Hunter in 9. I usually wear a 9, lean towards 9.5 occasionally. The shape and detailing is nearly identical, but the Kamik is much lighter, and the material feels more substantial. The Hunters are a more pliable, soft rubber, which was actually more comfortable when the boot bends at the ankle, but might not be as durable. The Hunter was maybe a quarter inch taller in the shaft and had more of a rubber smell. I preferred the squishier footbed of the Kamik. Had I ordered the same color and they cost the same, I may have leaned towards the Hunter for the pliability of the boot, but given Kamik's outstanding company ethics (not made in China! recyclable!) and less than half the price of Hunter, and I preferred the color I had ordered, and it was lighter...I went Kamik. Still, if someone wanted to avoid the badge-logo on Kamik or something, I'd support Hunter as a decent choice...but maybe wait for a sale. The price is just not reflective of what you are getting: a rubber boot.

Sigh. My first pair of Hunter boots were amazing. Then they moved the manufacturing to China. The fit is not as tailored as it used to be and feels floppy on my legs. I used to walk miles in these - now I'm looking for a different boot.

I have usually been a fan of Hunter products because the craftsmanship always appears to be top tier. I purchased a pair of their tall original boots around two years ago from a Lord and Taylor’s store, and because I only wear them occasionally in the fall and spring, I thought they would last me a while. Fast forward to today, I oddly found cracks in the material. Most are smaller, yet still very visible, however there is one very large crack near the sole which leads straight to the inner liner. Thus, water easily gets in and soaks my feet. I do not know how this could have happened with such little use, and I concluded that the material in this particular pair of boots must have been faulty. I contacted customer service, however, they stated they could not do anything because I did not retain a two-year-old receipt and because it is only a 24-month warranty. The boots might as well only be one year old because of how infrequently I wear them. I am disappointed in the poor craftsmanship of a company that is supposedly renowned for their quality of product. I am also disappointed in their customer service and their inability to just work with me to find some solution to my problem. I paid a lot of money for these boots, and yet here I am, 2 years later with only an unusable pair of boots to show for it. Long story short, Hunter boots look great, but they will not last as long as you think. And after that 24-month warranty expires, you are on your own. So, my advice: buy at your own risk. Or just get a generic rain boot that will probably last longer and where you don’t pay 50% more for the brand name.

I had wanted a pair of Hunter rain boots forever and finally ordered them. I was so bummed to realize that the calves are just huge on me and the whole look is just really clunky and unflattering. For reference, I am 5'7 1/2" and 125 pounds. As for foot size, I followed the advice of others and though I normally wear a size 8 1/2, I ordered an 8. They fit my feet fine but were too wide in the calves.

Love these boots! Very comfortable, I found the boot size runs a little big. They do not come in half sizes. I normally wear 7 1/2 -8. I bought the 7 and they fit good. My daughter wears 6 1/2-7 and she bought the 6 and they fit good as well.

I ordered both the Tall and Tour boots and liked the Tall much better (returned the Tour). The Tall are heavier, yes, but they feel much better on, are a bit wider in the toe box and don't bend and gape at the ankles like the Tours did. I'm normally a 7.5 but the 7 fit really well. I'm in love with these boots. They were a total splurge, but well worth it.

Ok, here's the full scoop with hunter tall boots... Tour: is by far my favorite. It's a nice slim fit on the calf and about 1/2" shorter than the original- perfect for a petite gal (5'). I love the fit of these, they look great with skinny jeans and leggings, and they are lighter weight and fold mostly flat for traveling. In winter months I can pack these boots with a hunter insulated sock liner and they save me a ton of space in my suitcase. Unfortunately, I have been through 3 pair in 4 years. The rubber is thinner than any of the others and cracks over time, even with minimal wear. I live in Colorado and I'm guessing the dry climate here doesn't help. Oh, how I wish Hunter would improve the durability of these boots! Original Tall: Just 1/2" taller than the Tour... a bit too tall for me (5'). They touch the bottom of my knee cap. These are heavier and probably more durable because they are a heavier rubber material. They are 1/2" wider in the calf at the top of the boot. The Field- This boot is one inch shorter than the Tour, but much wider at the top opening and through the calf... at least 2" wider, and the toe box is just a little roomier than the others. So, my dilemma is that the best fit for me is a boot that has proven to not last more than a year without cracking. Hope this is helpful to anyone trying to find their perfect pair of Hunters. Best of luck!

I am so bummed...I had some Hunters from 8 years ago that I loved, but the heel wore down/I got a crack in the side and they have been leaking for a few years. I FINALLY decided to splurge on some new ones, and the fit just isn't the same. These are more roomy and look sloppy and less tailored. Sadly, these are going back.

If you have a wider calf I would recommend ordering the back adjustable boot as well as this one and returning the one that doesn't work. I did not and now am return these and getting the back adjust. Also agree with everyone about sizing.

I normally wear a size 7.5 but when boots/shoes are only available in whole sizes, I order an 8. I ordered the 8 in Dark Slate and they fit perfectly. The color is great for any outfit. I've been wanting these boots for like 10 years so finally took the plunge during a Black Friday sale. I am glad I did! I live in a mid-sized city in the South so I don't expect to be walking a ton in the snow (or rain for that matter). These will serve that purpose. My only complaint is that these are very tight on my wide calves so I had to knock the rating down to 4 stars. I would like more boot designers to make wide-calf options!

I love these boots! They do fit true to size/width. But if you plan to wear them with thermal liners, you will need to go a half size larger. Note that while they are totally waterproof, there is no thermal protection whatsoever without the liner.

I had been searching for a good pair of rain boots, especially I live in the PNW where it rains so much. Hunter boots are always on the top list and they really look chic. I found these and price was great! I was honestly hesitant with the color (Aubergine) but they turned out to be a nice dark purple which is almost black. My only problem is I am petite, 5’2”, and the boots are just barely under my knees. Plus they’re quite heavy so it’s a little uncomfortable to walk on. I am a 7.5 to 8 so I ordered a size 8 to make room for thick socks. I don’t have a problem putting them on but taking them off is a little bit of a challenge. The quality is undeniably good though.

I bought these Original Tall Hunter boots (size 8) because I have a pair already in blue, and wanted a more neutral color as well. I also ordered a size up because with the Hunter socks, my first pair (size 7) was always a bit too snug. So! These size 8 boots are definitely more than one size up. I'd say they are 1.5 sizes up. They are also taller and the width (both shoe and shaft) is larger. I noticed today that underneath the sizing chart on this site it says the following: "Please note: If your size is unavailable, please check the women's version by typing in this SKU# - 7338173. Hunter sizing has both men's and women's conversions." So, even though I was searching under women's boots, I may have purchased the man's version of the boot. Not sure! I bought SKU 8426300. The little drop down box states that I'm buying a woman's size 8. ¯\_(?)_/¯ I've attached pictures so that you can visualize the difference in the two boots, which should only be one size up from the other. I'll wear these around the house for a bit to see if they work for me. But I'm only 5'4", and my calf width is skinny at 13.5". They absolutely hit at my knees.

I Love the boots they are so adorable A tad bit tall. They fit right under my knees so when I sit they hit the back of my knee but it’s not bothersome. They did fee a bit roomy but I just put on Thick socks and they fit perfectly... They are a necessity where I live we get so much rain all fall winter and spring. They are a keeper for me. I might be purchasing the short ankle ones next.

These boots are perfect for california beach days and gettin’ after it in the redwoods. I’m not usually a name brand person, but Hunter boots are the best you can buy of this variety. Love!

First pair of hunter rain boots and they are so much better than my coach rain boots. They are wide just enough at my calf without being too big or too tight. I might just wear them even if it’s not raining!

This boot looks great on, but a few things to consider... it runs true to size, if not a bit small, and is tall. I am almost 5’7” and the top of the boot hits me just beneath my knee.

I received my Hunter Original Tall Rain boots last week but only now have had a reason to wear them. These are my first pair and I have to say they are more comfortable than I thought. I ordered a size 7 as recommended and they fit just right while leaving room for thicker socks in colder weather. I do need an insole because my feet / ankles / calves are narrow and my feet are sliding around without. I ordered those as well as some of the welly boot socks. I'm petite (5'1") so these hit right under my knee but I've been told my legs are longer for my height. If someone is shorter than I am, the boots may be too tall for comfort. Also, with the buckle on the side I find it uncomfortable to sit cross-legged. I think if my legs were longer I wouldn't feel the buckle when sitting that way. Also, I think with the right insole, these could be comfortably worn all day. To be honest, I have wondered for a long time if these boots are overrated and overpriced. While they are comfortable and clearly well constructed, I'm glad I found these for a discounted price. I don't know if I would pay full retail for them but I'm happy with my purchase at the sale price.

I bought this pair of boots less than a year a go and was very excited about them. The fit is true to size. There are very hard to take off, but I do have big calves. The problem now is that I bought them less than a year ago, worn them maybe 3 times and when I grabbed them yesterday and put them off when I got back home, the were peeling! they look really bad. I have searched and came across a lot of reviews with people complaining about this problem. And Hunters not responding to them accordingly.

I had been wearing a size 10 with the back buckle but the foot was sloppy. I settled on these in size 9. I think in the end I would prefer the back adjustment as it is more flexible. I really have trouble with all the Hunter buckles. So hard to adjust. I use these for yard work and gardening and although they can be a little warm in the summer, it is more important for me to be protected from insects, etc.

Had to replace my old hunter original tall boots because they had holes which leaked, probably from blackberry canes since I wear them clearing brush. I wear them constantly while working in the yard and surrounds. I typically wear size 10.5 or 11 depending on the maker, but I swim in hunter size 11 boots so have always preferred size 10. Good support climbing on steep slopes.
