When I bought my first pair of Birkenstocks 10 yrs ago, a friend of mine told me to be sure to get the care kit to maintain the cork on them. Of course, I never did. Six pairs later, I have decided to take her up on that idea!! My original pair of Birkies still looked good...I thought. When I gave them the once-over with the Care Kit, they look so much better!! My most recent Birkie purchase was a replacement pair (thanks to a very distructive dachshund!) of Bostons in black suede. I love knowing my new shoes have protectant on them. I don't cringe on dewy mornings! I gave only 4 stars for this product, only because I have just received it and only time will tell just how it long it extends the life of my Birkenstocks. If you LOVE your Birkies, I strongly recommend buying one of these kits. You've already invested the cash by purchasing Birkenstocks; make your investment last by spending less than $20 on a maintenance kit. Show those shoes some LOVE!!

The brush in this kit started falling apart with the first use. The cleaning spray did even out the color of the footbed. The shoes did look fresh after they dried.

I love that there is something to make my Birkenstocks last longer. I don't understand what the rubber parts on the brush are for and there are no instructions it and no brush for the cork sealer. Also, Zappos sent me an used product, there was a cap missing and the dealer on the cork sealer bottle was broke and looked used.

I must have misunderstood the purpose of this kit. I wanted something to clean the footbed but this is just scented spray to deodorize. Thankfully Zappos has the best return policy around!
