The drawstring feature works perfectly! Finally -- a sweet hat that protects from the sun and won't blow off. And of course, since it's from Zappos, it got here almost before I ordered it.

This is a great hat...the draw string making it adjustable is a brilliant idea for my small head. The material is high quality and the style very attractive.

Like this hat a lot. Like others said, it was hard to see how cute it would look - perched on top of the mannequins head...but it's very cute. A tad bit large, but it has a string on the inside (can't see at all from the outside) to cinch it tighter a tad bit... and it works great.

Hat fits well, and has an internal tie to make the brim smaller if necessary. It was exactly as described, and an added bonus it is very comfortable.

This is by far the cutest hat I've ever had. I'm going to buy it in the other colors because I like my black one so much. The drawstring on the inside makes for a perfect fit. My whole Zappos experience was outstanding as always. This is a company that should be the model for this industry!

I absolutely love the Scala Big Brim Hat! This is my second one and it is very versatile - with its SPF 50 rating, it is great to wear on walks, sailing, while gardening, etc. And, it is pretty enough to wear to a garden party! I would actually love one in every wonderful color!

Love this hat! Adjustable inside for a snug fit. Tested it out when driving my convertible and it didn't budge. Should work, then, for our cruise this summer.

Love this hat! Got in another color also - perfect for sun protection with casual clothes in lieu of baseball cap, but can also be dressed up for sassy summer attire!

This is a really smashing hat, and the wide brim is versatile -- I tweak it for a Gatsby sort of look. It is a casual hat and very effective at sun blocking. In Spring, I tried this hat on at my local Macy's, but never seemed to return to pick it up before they pushed summer out for fall -- hence, Zappos to the rescue!

Too small for me, so I had to return. (Interestingly, another Scala hat I purchased, in the different color, was larger and fit perfectly). Too bad they don't show the interior circumference of the hats...

Nice hat, but the brim does indeed measure 4" to 5" and is huge. I was looking for my same red hat in another color. Apparently, it's called Scala Small Brim Canvas Bucket hat at another online seller with a 2.5" brim. Will have to send this one back, unless my taller friend would like it. Liked the color.

Cute hat, and as stated, big brimmed. I have a smallish face/head so my first thought was that it was too big/overwhelming for my face but it offers a good amount of protection, so I decided to keep it. I needed something packable for a trip and this fit the bill. The Natural color is a nice neutral, too.

Brim actually measures almost 5" -- too much hat for a small woman.

I have a small head and face and it's a pretty big hat - but it is really cute and I am enjoying wearing it. It really shades my face from the blazing sun.

Very cute hat! I like that it has an adjustable strap. I only gave it 4 stars for comfort however because it is a bit snug. I'm hoping that it stretches a little as I wear it.

Great hat - only design flaw is the white liner and drawstring casing. I ordered this hat since I have a small head and was disappointed to see the white elements are visible when the brim is turned up. Black bias tape will fix it but an all-black liner would have been better.

Cotton is great for humid heat we have most of year. Would look better on me in narrower brim. Price is great! Looks as if it travels well. Love Zappos. All merchandise.

Love wide-brimmed hats and love that this holds it's shape no matter how I flip it and that I can mash it into a suitcase for travelling HOWEVER!! the interior sweatband (which holds the casing for the thick drawstring) is white and shows the DIRT easily. Deciphering the laundry codes on the tag: NO Machine Wash, NO Bleach, NO Tumble Dry, NO Iron, NO Dry Clean. I will gingerly hand scrub the sweatband and dry in the sun. It will need frequent scrubbing as I will wear this every day when I am in an equatorial country and I don't want to damage the flexibility of the brim.

I wanted a duplicate of a hat I already have, but in a different color. I did not realize there were different brim sizes. Description says this is a 3" brim, but it is really 4"-5". Apparently, the one I want is called the small brim bucket hat with a 2.5" brim. Otherwise, the hat is the same fabric and fit as my original hat.

I bought this hat after being dx with skin cancer and having the need to protect my face from the sun after surgery and for the future. The brim of the hat is quite big. You can fold the brim up and it will stay in place. Perfect hat if you want almost full face protection from the sun. It’s not my favorite because of the style...feel like an older person wearing it...but it works well.

The dimensions in the description are incorrect. The brim is almost 5" rather than 3" so the hat is going back. Incidentally, notice the squared off top of the hat in this photo while in all of the other colors the hat is rounded? As I guessed, this photo is inaccurate. The black hat is also rounded at the top. The ratings are hard to make. The hat brim is so large than only a very tall person can pull it off. The hat is comfortable. Wish Zappos carried the medium brim hat with a smaller brim. I believe it's called the medium brim hat (3").

Cute hat but material feels cheap

This hat has great style exteriorly; however, the interior of the crown portion of the hat which is a contrasting white is quite visible also. Because of this contrast, the hat has a disproportionate appearance. Although there is a drawstring to cinch the hat more snugly on one's head, the hat is still rather loose fitting on my small head. The color and texture of the hat, with the exception of the white crown lining, are great. So sorry, but I will be returning this hat.
