100% disappointed. Previous Vivo Barefoot boots for working in the summer had large toe box, styled square. I couldn't even get my foot in these boots and I wouldn't want to. They have a tapered toe box sure to squish your toes together like traditional shoes.

I really liked these boots at first. They are comfortable and the soles really grip well in the woods especially on leafy trails. But they are falling apart and I've only one them for 9 months and they didn't get used in the summer. The soles on both boots are ppeeling off all the way around one boot and most of the way around the other. I wrote vivobarefoot and they told me that since I didn't buy the shoe directly from them there was nothing they could do. The o ly reason I didn't buy directly from them was because they never had them in stock. I would have to say they have the worst customer service of any company I have dealt with. If they had just replaced the boots with a pair that isn't falling apart I would have been happy. For over $200 they should at least last a year.

These are, by far, the best hiking boots I've ever put on my feet. I took them on a three week backpacking adventure in South America and my feet were only ever tired from the amount of walking and hiking. These boots are light and comfortable. I ordered one size up, and it was necessary. These boots are wider than most of my other shoes, but it was perhaps the determining factor of my happy feet (no rubbing or pinching).

First impressions: These are the bedroom slipper of hiking boots. A cross between traditional sturdy alpine boots and moccasins. From the first hours of wear, up and down the rocky trails of my environment, I can say these boots are perfect. The Gila Wilderness is hard on footwear. Will report back after a few adventures in the area.I bought a men's 41. I have duck feet (W size 9 -9.5, depending on the last used for the pattern). From previous reviews, the Wms seemed they'd be a bit narrow. Glad I went with the Men's (8.5 US, 41 Eu). Wider at toe area yet perfect for a more narrow heel.

So close...would have been a great transition from my Keen boots, but alas the toebox was very narrow. Construction seemed very good, but I couldn't get over how cramped my toes were laterally; worse than conventional shoes.

Wow -- none of the quality control issues a couple of reviews mentioned. I love these boots and have gone on a number of hikes, plus crashed around in crusty snow in them, and they have performed like champs. Vivo, like Altra, has a strange concept for shoes: make the shaped like feet. We've been running on foam wedges for 45 years, hiking on elevated heels for 100. The previous million years saw our same foot design not need any of that. Evolution is not kind to poor designs, so something must be right with our feet. Vivo and Altra try to work with that concept. Anyway, these boots have endured icy slush, crusty snow, and some miles, and they are in great shape. I'm a fan.

I've owned these for one month now. I've used them hunting in rugged mountain terrain. They allow my ankles to flex with the terrain. This, coupled with the fact that my foot is closer to the ground than with other boots I've owned, provide for very sure-footed travel. The sole provides good traction without accumulating much mud. One foot became wet after hunting several hours in damp snow. Overall, I'm very pleased. The fit is similar to the Vivobarefoot Gobi and Ra II that I own. I ordered these a full size larger than my other Vivobarefoot shoes and I'm glad that I did.

I don't understand what went wrong with these boots. Most Vivo shoes have really wide toe boxes, but these have a fairly standard toe box that feels tight on my feet. Other than that they seem to be made well.

PROS: Good materials, zero drop. CONS: Narrow in forefoot, unlike other Vivo footwear. Slightly loose fit above foot and around ankle.

I really wanted these boots to work out. I loved how they looked and when I first put them one they felt great. After only a couple wears one of they eyelets separated partially from the leather. Didn't really cause any issues but still for the price it seemed unacceptable so I returned them.

The quality control for the Tracker is atrocious. I had to mix and match a working pair from 3 sets of boots. Now that I have a pair, I had to remove the insole because it made the boot feel too tight (height wise) in the toe box. After all of that, they are a nice boot and fairly comfortable now. The leather scuffs easily. The waterproofing seems to work well and even with the insole removed, they have been warm enough down to 20 degrees with some wool socks, but that was not tested for an extended period of time. In the end, Zappos customer service was excellent. I ended up receiving quite a discount for my troubles and at that price, they are worth keeping. However, I would not pay retail for these. Only time will tell if the lack of quality control will translate into a lack of durability.
