I purchased these as a gift for a friend and he really appreciates the comfort and support. He is standing a great deal and these do give him comfort and support. The narrow is much needed as the leather does expand over time. My friend is tough on shoes and I was hoping these would last longer than they did (this is the second pair I have gotten him - first pair lasted about 8 months before he wore the sole down and the shoes became too wide). The first pair I ordered was a "Regular" width and this time, the option was available to choose "Narrow". But it seem Birkenstock is changing the verbiage for Narrow to include Regular, but I hope they are narrower than the previous ones. Time will tell. Good shoe overall.

Definitely comfortable.. a little hard to get on. I order to be tight enough so heel doesn't slip I have to keep,th buckle synched down. Struggle a little to get the heel in. I wouldn't consider these a tru slip on. I can deal with that. I can't imagine why Birkenstock didn't use their nicer oiled leather for these. The leather is kind of stiff unlike the oiled leather ones.. maybe they are discontinuing these. No one has size 40. What Birkenstock really needs to do for me is have this shoe I. A Softbed/Oiled leather version. Then I would give it a five star across the board.

The London B. shoes look about as expected. However, of all other Birks I own (three pair), the 41 narrow has fit well. Not so with the London model. I want to be able to wear these with socks in the winter, but these don't feel long enough to do that. Also, they feel a bit shorter than the other size 41s that I own.

I wear the Arizona in a size 42 but I had to go to a 43 in the London. Nothing can beat my Arizona's but these are better than my arch support in my sas freestyle. I have been switching between my Arizona's & the London for about 2 weeks, they feel different but I am liking them. The leather is a little stiff. The footbed feels the same even with going up a size, I was concerned about that. I am a 74 years old women & have been wearing birks off & on for the past 35 years. They are not cute but with jeans & pants they are not bad. And no, I never was a hippie!

I wear a men's 8.5 normally and fit in most D width shoes just fine. My foot tends towards wide and falls squarely between a D and an E. Reading about how wide the Regular width in Birkenstocks supposedly is I thought I was going to be in for a treat with these shoes. Unfortunately, they are very uncomfortable width-wise. Mildly squeezing my feet at their widest point just back from the toes. Also pressing up into the bottoms of my feet just back from the little toe like there's a little pebble or something underneath there. I have been carefully wearing them just a half-hour a day around my studio the first week and now an hour or so a day the second week and they just are not breaking in to become more comfortable. I'm perplexed because everything I've read led me to believe these were wider shoes. You read many, many consumer reviews about the problem for them being that the shoes just too wide. But for me, width-wise these are proving to be unwearable. I can't see sizing up because they are perfect in length. As I have already recycled the box they came in it looks like I will be stuck with them and outthe money. That's my fault.

Overall I feel these have a large amount of arch support. Since I overpronate and have low arches, these hurt my feet after a few minutes. Otherwise I like everything about the Londons.

I was looking for a winter version of the Birkenstock sandals that I love so much. I have high arches and a wide forefoot so Birkenstocks are among the only brands that I can wear all day in comfort. I ordered these and the regular footbed version. I do not like the soft footbed as much as the regular one (no toe grip and not quite as supportive) but the regular leather version was so unattractive I did not think that I could wear them outside of the house! The boiled wool front of these adds some interest so I kept them. I ordered a size up from my Birkenstock sandal size and it seems perfect for wearing with medium and heavy weight winter socks.

REALLY wanted these to work; I Love my Birk Arizonas. I have wide feet, and they sometimes swell depending on time of day or what I've eaten..... but nothing terribly out of the ordinary I don't think. I had to return these because they are way too tight across the top where the buckle strap is. Too tight to hope it will stretch out enough; however the length is perfect.

These are desperation shoes. They are beyond ugly. The black has such a smooth surface my friend assumed they were plastic. Even using some more pebbly leather would be a huge improvement. However, they are definitely comfortable. I am returning because my left toe is touching the end of the shoe but getting a bigger size would be way too big. There has got to be a way to make these look better!

I cannot accurately review this product, because I have not yet been able to wear it. Shoe came in extremely short and I was unable to even fit my entire foot into the shoe. I was not even able to walk around the room because the shoe was so much shorter than it should have been. Attempting to return product for a refund now.

I have many Birkenstocks of various styles, but these are just weird. First, there is no toe grip on the sole. It is flat from arch to toe box. My feet slide forward and bang the front. I wear a 37R and tried a 38N to see if I just needed it longer. But these differently sized shoes fit the same across the three small toes (it is the curve of the shoe, the arc across the front hits the same length). I traced the soles carefully and it is clear. Plus the bigger shoe has a completely odd under-ball-of-foot pad (unusual again, not like other Soft Footbed Birks). So, buyer beware. I am going to wear the 37R around the house to see if they work at all, but I am not convinced. A real oddball by the pros at Birkenstock.

Was mislead by the good reviews. Too bulky. I looked like a decrepit elf. The back goes up way too high.

The sizing is marked completely wrong. Size 48 is not equivalent to 15 -15.5. Size 50 in Europe is equivalent to size 15. This is common knowledge that most companies know this. I gave it a shot but could not even get my foot in the shoe. I am certain that with the right size, I would have been happy. Birkenstocks have been around since the 18th century so they need to update their game on the bigger sizes.

The customer service person told me that these shoes were interchangeable between men and women. At least in my case, they are not. I ordered several pair of Birkenstocks, including these, and they all were huge on me. Not only were these huge but they were ugly.

Do not listen to others - purchase your actual shoe size. I listened to others and purchased a size smaller. Zappos was kind enough to overnight me the correct size which still didn't fit. These are extremely narrow once you get your feet in there. And they are quite expensive.
