I've worn these for 3 months now. I'm on my feet a fair amount at work and these keep them happy and minimize issues with my recovery from plantar fasciitis. I just wish this style (with soft footbed, narrow) came in a dark red or blue, too!

Out of the box loved them. Have been having foot problems for a while now--I have had no issues since starting to wear my London soft footbed shoe! No break-in time needed. They are clunky looking but the look grows on you!

Great Birkenstock shoe. Had the Milano birkenstock sandals, which i love and wear all day. Then need a closed in shoe for the winter. Ordered London soft footbed and love these as well. Does not take long to break them in. Become comfortable within 1-2 weeks. Thank you Zappos for your great support and service with Birkenstocks.

Impeccable leather, expertly crafted. Total foot support. Comfortable out if the box, but also tough enough for years of wear.

After an extensive search for closed toe shoes this winter - I decided to try the Bostons -(I wear a 40N in the Mayari and absolutely love those - also just received the Boston Shearling for house shoes). I tried the 40N in Boston - whoa! Really wide and large! My foot sloshed around - I tried the 39N - Oh so much better in width - but right at the end on the toes. I decided to try the Birkenstock London Soft Footbed 40N- (apprehensive thinking they would look too masculine). I am a 60 year old grandma and school teacher - I love the London! I wear it with maxi skirts and even my skinny jeans! Go figure! I started wearing with socks in January - I am wearing them today barefoot and love the wiggle room that make my toes smile! I can wear these all day and all evening and still be so happy at the end of the night. You do have some wiggle room - but that is part of the beauty of the Birkenstock - especially for those of us with narrow feet.

I am very pleased with Zappos website. Great availability, prompt service and easy convenient return policy if needed. I love my new Birkenstocks. I was so happy to receive them so quickly. This brand was recommended by my therapist after foot surgery. They provide the support I need for my feet. I was a little nervous when first trying the shoes on - I could not put them on without undoing the buckle. I have to undo the buckle to put it on and off every time. Otherwise very pleased all around. They are not sexy or very cute but 100% as far as comfort and support for me.

LOVE! these shoes. I did have to go up 1 size from my normal Birkenstock size 39. Really like the "soft bed". Same great form fitting sole as the others with just a little cush to it. Stiff like I need for my plantar fasciitis. I do not need my orthotics in these since they pretty much act like one.

Very well-built shoe but unfortunately, it did not fit. I wear a size 8D (39w) normally but after seeing the reviews here that said the shoe ran large, I decided to go for a size down. Fyi, I could not fit my foot half way through the shoe and the width is truly "normal." Would not recommend for people with wide feet.

Paired with the right clothes these can actually be stylish! Sizing runs large as usual with Birkenstock but very comfortable once you get the right size.

This is the BEST SHOE I have ever had. I have worn it approximately 3 to 4 times. The leather is exceptional, everything is unbelievable in the good sense, but, however, it is just too short by almost to inch. My left big toe rides on the leather. When this returns I will order another pair through one of the Zappo s Associate s and ask for that enter to inch. Thanks Zappos unbelievable products and staff. (I am sure management has something to do with it.) AFK

These are the best shoes that I have worn for work. They are very comfortable! I have never had to break these shoes in. They are expensive but they are quality shoes that keep me going on a 12 hour shift. I will not wear anything else to work! I have a brown pair that I have worn the heel down on but I am sending them to have new corkbeds and soles put on. That is another great thing about Birkenstock shoes. You can get them repaired and they will look like a new pair of shoes; and it costs much less than buying a new pair. They will last you forever, even though you may have to have them resoled, etc.

I have worn Birkenstock sandals since 1975. This my first pair of Birkenstock shoes and I am pleased to find the same quality and craftsmanship I have always gotten from Birkenstock. My Londons required no break in and are lightweight and comfortable.

I'm on my feet all day on concrete floors, my healthcare practitioner recently recommended Birkenstocks to me. I wore Birks all the time when I was in college, but that been a few decades, so kind of fun to get back to them. In my size (14) there are only two styles available, I went with the Londons. Took about an hour to break in and now they feel perfect. My feet and lower back feel much better than they have in other shoes (primarily Keens). I do wish Birkenstock would make other styles in my size, but I'm perfectly happy with these shoes. Would buy again.

At first I ordered a size up due to reviews. They were so big! So, I reordered in my sandal size and they fit great. Wonderful work shoe. I wish I had been wearing these all along.

On my feet all day on hard floors, this shoe seems to be working out for me. It took some time breaking it in since my feet have no arch, so a couple of hours a day, I was determined to make this work. They are now very comfortable. I rated it a 3 on style because they are pretty ugly, but I don't care what a shoe looks like as long as it fits well. I was surprised though, the first set I ordered was too small, I usually wear a 40, but I needed a 41, which I promptly received.

Great pair of Birks, just as I expected! I'm a nurse so taking care of my feet is important to me. I had ordered one size too small, but returned with prepaid label and new pair arrived two days later. Thanks Zappos for great service, too!

Love these shoes. Bought them for a new job on my feet all day. I have difficulty with back and leg pain after standing too long. These shoes have made all the difference...they're cute on too. Tried the similar ones without the soft footbed, not nearly as comfortable. They do seem to run slightly larger than my other Birks though.

I love these shoes, so even though they are a tad tight on my bunions, I am keeping them. I love the round toe and the style. I am hoping that the shoes will widen a bit by wearing.

I agree with reviewers who said this is sized smaller than usual. I have two other pairs of Londons (regular sole, not soft), one is about 8 years old but the other is just two years old. I ordered my usual 36 in this London and it's about a half inch shorter than my other two pairs. Narrower as well (both my other pairs are also narrow). I'm on the fence about keeping them because they just feel too short with socks but I suspect a 37 would be too large. Absent the short sizing, seems like a good shoe. All the stability of the closed back London with the extra cushion of the soft footbed.

Toe bed too short! I usually wear a 39 in closed shoes, but these shoes in 39 had no room for my toes. Though they are marked narrow, I found the width to be comfortable, equivalent to US medium width. the arch support felt divine... I may reorder in a larger size. Style-wise? these shoes are tres granola... but what do you expect from Birkenstock? comfort.

I purchased these as a gift for a friend and he really appreciates the comfort and support. He is standing a great deal and these do give him comfort and support. The narrow is much needed as the leather does expand over time. My friend is tough on shoes and I was hoping these would last longer than they did (this is the second pair I have gotten him - first pair lasted about 8 months before he wore the sole down and the shoes became too wide). The first pair I ordered was a "Regular" width and this time, the option was available to choose "Narrow". But it seem Birkenstock is changing the verbiage for Narrow to include Regular, but I hope they are narrower than the previous ones. Time will tell. Good shoe overall.

Definitely comfortable.. a little hard to get on. I order to be tight enough so heel doesn't slip I have to keep,th buckle synched down. Struggle a little to get the heel in. I wouldn't consider these a tru slip on. I can deal with that. I can't imagine why Birkenstock didn't use their nicer oiled leather for these. The leather is kind of stiff unlike the oiled leather ones.. maybe they are discontinuing these. No one has size 40. What Birkenstock really needs to do for me is have this shoe I. A Softbed/Oiled leather version. Then I would give it a five star across the board.

The London B. shoes look about as expected. However, of all other Birks I own (three pair), the 41 narrow has fit well. Not so with the London model. I want to be able to wear these with socks in the winter, but these don't feel long enough to do that. Also, they feel a bit shorter than the other size 41s that I own.

I wear the Arizona in a size 42 but I had to go to a 43 in the London. Nothing can beat my Arizona's but these are better than my arch support in my sas freestyle. I have been switching between my Arizona's & the London for about 2 weeks, they feel different but I am liking them. The leather is a little stiff. The footbed feels the same even with going up a size, I was concerned about that. I am a 74 years old women & have been wearing birks off & on for the past 35 years. They are not cute but with jeans & pants they are not bad. And no, I never was a hippie!

I wear a men's 8.5 normally and fit in most D width shoes just fine. My foot tends towards wide and falls squarely between a D and an E. Reading about how wide the Regular width in Birkenstocks supposedly is I thought I was going to be in for a treat with these shoes. Unfortunately, they are very uncomfortable width-wise. Mildly squeezing my feet at their widest point just back from the toes. Also pressing up into the bottoms of my feet just back from the little toe like there's a little pebble or something underneath there. I have been carefully wearing them just a half-hour a day around my studio the first week and now an hour or so a day the second week and they just are not breaking in to become more comfortable. I'm perplexed because everything I've read led me to believe these were wider shoes. You read many, many consumer reviews about the problem for them being that the shoes just too wide. But for me, width-wise these are proving to be unwearable. I can't see sizing up because they are perfect in length. As I have already recycled the box they came in it looks like I will be stuck with them and outthe money. That's my fault.
