LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I am completely in love with these boots. They were snug putting them on the first time around the thickest part of my calf but with some pulling and pushing they zipped up without a lot of trouble. Once they were on there were no problems, they didn't feel tight at all. I wasn't sure what color the charcoal would actually be but they arrived and the color is perfect, just as pictured. I am as picky as they come and can't imagine why anyone could find any fault with them.

These boots are beautifully made and look and fit great. They are super soft but not slouchy, and nice and tall - all the way to my knee. Supple leather inside and out. I am in love.

I really love Frye boots because they're so comfortable. The good things about this boot are that they are fitted more in the ankle so the boot doesn't look bulky or sag. Also the pull tabs on the zippers have little metal knobs that help you grip the tab when pulling up the zipper. The bad thing is that the shafts on these boots don't fit my 15" around calves (this is why I know that metal pull knob is pretty awesome). There is also a notch above the zipper such that the shaft is a little lower and doesn't dig into the back of your knee so much when you're sitting, if you're short like me (5'3") but you'll need a leg longer than 14" from ankle to knee to be comfortable in these while sitting. I'm so sad to have to return these because they are gorgeous boots and I was looking forward to traveling in them, but they cut off the circulation in my calves so they have to go back.

I love these boots. I tried 4 other Frye boots. This one had just the right heel hight and just the right amount of funkyness. You can dress them up or get down with them. The fit feels right and they are just a tiny bit loose on the calf but still look good.

Ok, I have not worn anything with a significant heel in about 2 decades. So when I decided to try this dressboot with a 2 inch heal it was quite a leap of faith. What I learned is it matters what is on your foot. These boots work better with socks than stockings ( for me at least) and shifted from just gorgeous footwear to actually a long event boot with the addition of some Dr Scholl's inserts. I used the insert for arch support for high heel shoes and the ball of the foot pad and I can spend hours on my feet in these very stylish boots. They are stunning on and look great with skirts etc. As with all leather foot wear, give them a few days wear and they will become a new favorite. I wear the 6.5 in the flat Frye boot, the 6 worked for me with the added 2 inch heel.

Excellent quality and beauty in these Frye boots! They make gorgeous stunners. Comfortable right from the initial try on, the boots felt true to size (for me). Also regarding comfort, I really enjoy a zipper so that the boots are easy to get on and off. Love them, recommend them!

This was one of three Frye boots that I tried, alongside many other boots. All the Frye boots feel looser/wider around my leg that other boots and I do not like that. This boot I had high hopes for because the styling looked elegant in the photos. In person, the boot looks too masculine to me; the zipper on the back is almost industrial-looking and the zipper pull is quite large. High quality, of course, but they look overwhelming on my 5'5", 116 pound frame. The shaft hits just below the knee - these are a lot of boot. They are a good heel height.

I'm not super skinny, but these size 9 boots ended up being too loose in the shaft. They were almost tall enough but felt very very roomy in the ankle and foot. Finally the color was more of a burgundy brown than I would have expected given that the description was "charcoal." My first foray into Frye tall boots and I'll have to return.

I bought these boots in both colors not knowing what to expect. I loved a pair mum had from the 70's which were small for me and been looking for something like that a long time. I was ecstatic when I found them at Zappos. However, the boots look much different from the picture. First of all they do not stand firm like that. The leather is soft and wobbly. I love the length and how they fit the feet but they are a bit too wide. The side view isn't too flattering either, especially because the big wide metallic zipper and the soft leather in combo, create a loser silhouette and the boot doesn't really follow the shape of the leg. It looks as if you have a lump above your heel where the leg naturally arches to connect to the muscle. The ones in the picture look firm like strong riding boots but they are more like leather made fishing boots! They are really comfortable though, not too sure what to do about the rest of the remarks I have. I have not made my mind yet whether to keep them or return them.

I didn't like these boots at all and have to say they are nothing like the picture. They look more like fishing boots than high quality leather boots. They are waaay too wide and you swim on them. I am 5'9 and still they were too much for me. The boot has a arched shape at the back which only makes sense if they fit to the back of your muscle and not if they are AT least 2 inches wider!!! The zipper makes them wobbly, doesn't fit like it should and your silhouette looks deformed as if you have two heels instead of one!!! They also came poorly packed and totally wrinkled. I was actually looking forward to them and ended up asking for a second pair but this design simply isn't worth the money. For that price I decided to get the Lucinda Scrunch from FRYE which is a completely different design but at least lives up to the price.
