My third pair of Borns. These have the same comfort as the loafers with more ankle support.

I really dig these boots -- they look great and the feel great. I needed a pair of general use shoes/boots that I can use for work meetings, playing with my kids, or walking across town. These do the trick.

These were purchased as a gift to my husband for Christmas. He currently owns a pair of Born loafers that he cannot live without and now these boots will be competing for that spot! Everything about these boots is quality. Soft leather, excellent construction and great look. You simply cannot go wrong with Born - or Zappos!

These run very small. It is my opinion that moving up one entire size would help. The shoe/boot is a very nice looking shoe and is worth every penny, but keep in mind that they do not run true to size. The customer service at Zappos is the absolute best. I shop a lot, 99% online and Zappos is hands down, the best!

Nice and soft yet supportive. Love the look of these. As with the other pair of Born that I have, they felt on the small size to start with but soon broke in, one hour in this case! As they are soft and flexible, it will be interesting to see how durable they are longer term. Laces could be a tiny bit longer as the boots were a challenge to get on but that's a nit.

These shoes are simply great. What I like about these shoes: Light weight Quality construction Soft leather outers Comfortable Looks great with street attire Perfect for business casual Versatile I swapped out the laces and rubbed in some waterproofing. They are now even more versatile. I am thinking about getting another pair in black. You might not like them if you have narrow feet or need a shoe that can shrug off puddles or slush.

I have a long tradition of black boots. First it was a pair of dc martins that I still own and wear on occasion after 13 years. Then it was a pair of Timberland handmade chukkas that I still wear after 5 years. They were both looking a little ragged. I thought about replacing the Timerlands, but they are a lot of money. I thought I would go a little less expensive and something a little trendier. Enter the Jax. The first pair was small (note--better to figure out your actual EU size rather than trust the chart). I ordered a half size (US) larger than normal. When I first put them on, they seemed too tight. So I wore them around the house that evening. It was like they were molded to my foot. I didn't want to take them off. I have been wearing them pretty steady for a few weeks. The look good, the are super comfortable for walking--which I do a lot. They stand up to the city streets all day. The tread seems great--still no sign of snow so we will see. The boot has a leather upper that is padded, which I expect will make them pretty warm. Two things to note that aren't really criticisms, just information. There is no heel on this boot. I have never had a pair without a heel, and it took me a few days to get over that. But it was really more of a mental and physical thing than a comfort issue In fact, I bike a lot too and these feel a little more solid on the pedal somehow. The support is really good, but I feel like the arch is a little lower than I am used to wearing. Again, not a bad thing--just a thing to be aware of. Great, stylish, comfortable, well-made pair of black leather boots here. Great for walking/commuting.

Beautiful, soft leather, comfortable right out of the box. A little extra padding in the heel would have been nice, but still not bad. Nice amount of room in the toe box. Great look, can wear with jeans, cords and even dress khakis.

This is a great shoe. It reminds me of a nice, dressy version of Nike Free's. I consider this somewhat of a minimalist dress shoe. The soles are just as flexible, however, they are much more durable. The leather is high quality and these are very comfortable for the office or around town. Great product! They originally felt a little tight (I'm normally a 10 so I ordered a 10), but over the last couple days they've loosened up/stretch out and feel great.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever purchased. Highly recommended. Not much arch support, but I adjusted within a day or two.

This is a great, casual boot. The sole design enhances comfort for walking and avoids the "clunky-ness" of a stiffer boot. I wore a pair of Born casual shoes for years and was looking for a blend of boot and shoe. This is the perfect mix. As with all Born products, the boot features premium leather all around. I normally wear a 12, but ordered 11.5 since that's all that was left...no issue with comfort as the boot's toe box shape is ideal.

This is an awesome boot! Super comfy. Soles feel like Nike running shoes and the leather is super soft. Break in period was simple. Few hours and my feet were feeling perfect. I wear a 10.5 and it was a little big, I like boots with a little toe room. A must boot for any situation. Dress up or down. Girlfriend helped me pick these boots and I've gotten so many compliments.

I have owned two pairs of these shoes. They are very comfortable and I liked the style. The leather wears well, especially if treated. I am disappointed in how quickly the outsole wears out, though. I wore holes in the heals of both pairs in less than a year each time. These are NOT a good option for an every day shoe, especially if you walk a lot in a day.

Great boot. Super stylish, comfortable and lots of traction. Feel like sneakers. My only criticism is that they are s little tuff to get on. Aside from that, they are near perfect boots. True to size. Solid purchase.

I like that they are very lightweight and comfortable. Have had B RN shoes before and they typically run large for me. These however, I had to order half a size up as they run small.

Very comfortable boot that is very comfortable for all day wear. Had been researching other boots but got these and I am very pleased. These are more comfortable than my Clarks desert boot and I have had three of those.

This is my third pair of Born shoes and my first pair of chukkas. While I already love them, I feel that Born may be using a different quality of leather than the others I have worn. These brand new Born chukkas feel far lighter and thinner than the Born shoes I was just wearing yesterday. That is good because while the shoes felt a bit clunky, I bet I could have easily gotten another year out of them. However these chukkas don't feel as though they will have the same durability as an everyday shoe, which is ok because that's not why I bought them. I had to return the first pair I got and had to go up a half size, and also if you've got wide feet like I do, these will feel snug. The slightly off fit is also something I've not experienced with the other two Born I purchased.

I had to go a half size up on these. I've had many pairs of Borns, all 8.5, but these were way too tight - width and height - in the toe box. Exchanged for 9 and they fit perfect. Great style with jeans or canvas pants.

I really wanted to love these shoes but were extremely uncomfortable. There was a lot of pressure on front part of the shoe, toward my smaller toes. The heel of the shoe felt and fit great. I wore them for about two weeks but since the leather didn't loosen, they had to be returned. I ended up purchasing a pair of Ugg Alin boots in size 14M and love them. They're way more comfortable and fit perfectly compared to the Born Jax. I've already received the refund from Zappos. Free shipping on returns so thanks for that!

These looked great, were light and supportive (except for bit in the heel) and after some mink oil, relatively water resistant; great for the winter months I bought them for. However the soles were too slick, and eventually they split across the entire ball of my feet revealing the thin padding beneath. So, poorly made, or just a defective pair either way can't give the 4 star (the lack of heel support) that I wanted to.

After wearing a pair of these boots for four weeks I regret to say that both soles have cracked directly below the ball of the foot. The sole is so compromised that while walking in moderate rain this morning water entered the shoes from the bottom and resulted in me walking in wet socks for hours. My wet socks and I cannot recommend these boots.
