Every shoe company has a bootie like this right now, so they are right-on style, but they also take the cake for being dead comfortable and having great arch support. Arch support is not just a matter of putting a little bump on the middle of the insole; it is also crucially a matter of a rigid sole. Flexible shoes are the worst for supporting the arch and everything that rests on it. Rigidity of sole, if not soul, is key. (When, when will the makers of so-called comfort shoes figure this out???) The wedge base of the Dansko Rene is pretty much as hard as you could ask for. And because they lace, they fit my skinny feet. They're heaven. The slate color, by the way, translates into taupe in real life -- with, arguably, hints of lavender in certain lights. Really lovely. I may never take them off.

Unfortunately mine squeaked with every step, so I had to return them. However, they are cute and have excellent arch support as others have mentioned.

These are so great and SO comfortable! I put them on this morning (after receiving them yesterday) and have been wearing them at work all day. They are very trendy. The suede is so soft. I love Dansko's but don't always love their other styles other than their clogs but they hit the nail on the head with these. The only thing that would make these better is if they were waterproof.

'm loving these booties! I got them in gray in my normal size 37, which felt more like a 7.5 and had to return them for a 36, which is plenty roomy (my feet are a little bit wide, my toes are stubby). The gray color is a really pretty, cool grey somewhere b/t slate and dove. The suede is softer than cashmere and the laces match exactly. The heel - in dansko's proprietary substrate - is a very dark charcoal, and I think the shoes would more attractive if the wedge heel color were closer to that of the suede. They are SO, SO comfortable, although the top of the bootie is a bit stiff and digs into the front of my ankle when tied tightly. I think this needs to be "broken in". I think other brands' similar styles, with a pointier toe, would be both cuter yet much MUCH less comfortable. I think the roundness of the toe box (on this style and all Danskos) make them look less dressy. I wouldn't wear these with a dress or skirt. They are SO COMFORTABLE FOR WALKING AND STANDING that I don't care, and still caught myself looking at them in windows as I pass by thinking "well, these ARE pretty darn cute!". They are also kind of warm - I'm wearing them with thin socks right now and my feet are a bit hot. Regardless, the excellent comfort and craftsmanship make these a totally-worth-it-win. Glad I chose these over the similar Donald Pliners I was looking at.

I just received this cute boot in the mail today...opened the box and immediately loved them, put them on and loved them even more, until I walked around in them. They squeak! With every step. I am so disappointed and will be returning them.

I love these shoes! They are very comfortable (as I expect from Dansko) and on trend. I got a lot of wear out of them this winter and they still look great. My only complaint is that they squeak - I have had that problem with other Danskos, too.

I could walk for miles in these shoes! I have fit that are very hard to fit and the only shoes that have ever been comfortable for me are Dansko clogs. These shoes fit just the same, but are much more stylish. I wear them with skirts & skinny jeans when my clogs just wouldn't look right. I was worried about squeaking, as several reviewers mentioned, but mine haven't had that problem at all.

These are very comfortable and versatile. The grey goes with almost everything that I own and the shoes look great with leggings and jeans (I have not tried them with skirts yet). I get a lot of compliments on them and they really are ideal shoes for winter when you do not want or need to wear boots. I love them.

Very comfortable, chic boots. I wanted a short black boot that would be good for traveling, long walks in airports but would easily transition to a business meeting and these don't look like Dansko clogs at all!

I loved these but the 36 is really more of a size 6 than a 5.5. I wish you would carry Danskos in size 35. The only 35s on this site are in the professional category. Such a disappointment.

Just took these out of the box and put them on. My first thought - these are sexy! My next thought - these are comfortable! I love them. Dansko's reputation for comfort and durability is true. I am looking forward to wearing these to my new job. Thank you Zappos and Dansko!

Amazing. Shoes arrived last night and I wore them to work today to break them in. Brought back up shoes just in case -- no need though! I work retail and am on my feet all. day. long. Today was a 10.5 hour day and my feet felt incredible in these shoes all day! Thanks Dansko!

These shoes are right on trend for this season, and they are SUPER comfortable. they're definitely expensive but you're paying for the Dansko brand, fit and reliability.

I bought these boots because I love the brand Dansko, I was not disappointed! These are my favorites! They are dressy or casual depending on what you wear them with and very comfortable! They are a great choice! Not too high of a heel and I am a hair dresser so I wear them all day!

These are really cute & really comfortable, but they seem to run really big to me. I had to go down a size from what I normally wear in this brand.

I wear size 10.5N and normally use orthotics for arch support. Boots are a the most difficult to fit. I wore my M width Dansko sandals with adjustable straps all summer, and was so pleased to see Dansko giving us boots where we could adjust the width with the laces. Dansko, please expand the number of styles you make in narrow! The heel is loose in these but no problem if I lace up tight.

I ordered this shoe and was very happy with the color and style. The problem was that both shoes squeaked with every step I took. I had to send them back to Zappos. Since that time, I have read about others who had the same issue. It's too bad because overall, this is a great shoe!

I am a bank teller and on my feet a lot. At first the top of the shoe was hitting the inside bone that connects the ankle and the foot so I thought they were uncomfortable. But I loosened the ties and now it's fine. I felt good arch support and find these shoes very comfortable! Zappos continues to be the best online shopping site ever!
