Was looking for an all-purpose winter shoe for running errands on weekends, etc., not a hard core hiking boot. I wanted one with a more substantial sole than this one, but thought I'd give it a try. I've worn these 2 days in a row on the coldest days of late January and wow, they are super comfortable. Which is surprising, since I need a lot of support plus cushion. This shoe doesn't seem to have much support, it's very flat, but the sole is so cushy, it's really comfortable. I wore them with wool socks and I had no issues, and I am very picky about shoes. Kept my feet warm all day...didn't want to take them off in fact. I sized up a half size which I always do with boots, and the fit was perfect. When I took them out of the box I thought they would be too small, and they make my feet look small for some reason, but the fit is perfect. Plenty of toe room. Another excellent buy from Zappos!

Very comfy and oh so light perfect for what I needed them for. I haven't worn them rolled down yet, but I just might the next time I do. bottom line I really like these, even my youngster complimented me!

I just received these today, walked around the apartment in them and Wow. These shoes have it all. In terms of comfort, like another reviewer said, it's like walking on air. I foresee zero break-in time. (And I need this brand of insoles for my less comfortable shoes!) They are also really stylish, which is exactly what I wanted in a quality winter boot. Even though the description says "waterproof suede" I will probably give them a light spray before any wet/slushy days. And for ladies with sturdier ankles and a bit wider feet such as myself: I bought a 7.5 and they fit great, even on the widest part of my foot (normally I'm a 7/7.5 and can sometimes get away with buying shoes in medium width). They aren't tight on the ankles either. Very pleased overall!

Great boots! Very comfortable with no break in time. Warm and little more dressy than the average hiking boot.

So far I am in love with these boots. In my opinion they aren't for hiking, but are a more sporty fashion shoe. I would say they are good for walking, and perhaps a longer (level one hike) in the fall. As with any leather shoe, I would recommend purchasing a protective spray if you will be wearing these in the winter (ex. Aldo Protects - Leather protector) and I would say they are not made to walk through shin deep snow if you can avoid it. Supper comfy (like walking on air), sporty woman's fashionable, and warm. A good alternative shoe for the colder months in a concrete environment.

Really happy with this shoe! Think of it as a more sporty, hiking-friendly Ugg boot. It's extremely comfortable, and kept my feet warm as I hiked through Glacier National Park this September. I would say overall it's geared toward light to moderate hiking, because it's flexible and light weight. Along with a pair of SmartWool socks, these shoes will keep me happy during the colder months here in GA.

These are nice boots! At first, I thought that I would have to size down but, they are perfect with socks/well made, comfortable and I am sure that they will do well when the colder weather gets here/I am really picky about shoes and boots and, I do really like these!

I love these boots! They are warm and comfortable. I put my orthotics in them and they fit just fine...maybe a bit snug for other people, but I have skinny feet. My only complaint is that the lacing does not go to the top of the ankle so that part is loose. I was hoping for some ankle support, but the shoes are so cute & comfy I decided to overlook that.If people were wearing them in the snow, however,I would think it would go down their boots?

This shoe is so comfortable. It is very cute, but still has that outdoorsy feel to it. I like the way it looks with skinny jeans, the roll down aspect makes it easy to look cute in them. I wore them around France and Belgium, never in a downpour, but it did rain some and my feet were dry which was what I needed. I would recommend them.

I bought these shoes last winter. They were great for walking a mini schnauzer down the winter sidewalks of WI. These shoes are cool and functional and something my grandma would call "shoe-boots." They fit true to size and comfortably fit my orthotics. The only disappointment was the quality. The soul of the shoe started to separate only after a few months of wear and now the toe flops. For the price, I expected more durability. Bummer!

I love The North Face shoes, but was disappointed with these. I got the Ballard Roll Down to wear in Ohio fall/winter weather. The fit is comfortable, but I'm afraid the suede won't hold up in the bad weather. Also the material around the roll down area is really shiny and looks kind of cheap. I am sending these back and will search on.

I am a contractor and work abroad in Afghanistan. I bought these boots thinking they would hold up to the rocks and gravel that I walk on daily. However, after 2 weeks of wear the soles on both feet have started to separate. They are cute boots, but not suitable for hiking or really any activities and they are made cheaply.
