When I bought these shoes I did not notice that they were stretch shoes and do not have the usual shoes strings. I might have returned them but I did not have enough time to do so until I wanted to use them. I had one week to break-in these shoes in before needing to do a bunch of walking in them. I was very surprised that there was zero break-in period. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. I bought them to wear to the Nascar race in Vegas and boy did I put some miles on em. I could not be happier with these shoes.

This is my 5th pair of these shoes. I buy a new pair every 4 months. Extremely comfortable, and provides excellent support

These are extraordinarily comfortable. This type of shoe does not have a tongue, so you do not get those weird pressure points when the tongue goes sideways. Also no tieable laces, which is great for me as a motorcycle rider. I do need to use a shoehorn to easily get them on, since the lack of tongue means I cannot just open them up like normal shoes.

I have owned several pairs of Merrell before and had good luck. These fit fantastic from the start and after a week long vacation packed with a lot of walking, some hiking, and even a few hours of dancing they still feel great. The integrated tongue makes getting the shoe on/off difficult. Also I slipped and fell on a wet concrete step. Although I am not the only one to fall there was zero grip. I am satisfied and will be purchasing another pair in black.

Thank goodness Merrell went back to the original style, look, and fit of this shoe! This is my "go to" shoe for just about anything I need to handle.

I will first say that receiving these shoes in less than 24 hours was awesome! I purchased a different pair of Merrells in the past and they were ok. These chameleon prime stretch shoes are very comfortable. I immediately take the removal insoles out of every boot or shoes that I buy and replace it with Superfeet orthotic insoles due to having plantar fasciitis. The shoes fit and felt great right out of the box. I wear them just for regular wear and not hiking or anything like that so I do not know how they will do on trails. The mesh material does make a sound while you are walking but to me it is not that big of a deal. All in all these are great comfortable shoes that I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a pair of Merells.

This a great shoe! These are my work shoes. I work in a hospital and am on my feet 12 hours a shift. These hold up quite nicely and are above and beyond, the best pair of shoes I've ever worn working in a hospital. It does feel a little tight at first but has stretched perfectly to fit my foot.

I've had wonderful experiences with many Merrell models. Most are ready to wear for 12 hours right out of the box. This particular shoe didn't suit my foot very well. The flex ties didn't allow me to secure the shoe to my rather narrow foot as tradition laces may have. As my foot moved around, it located contoured areas on the sole that were uncomfortable when not properly aligned.

These have been some of my favorite shoes for years. I had owned a couple of pairs prior to these and essentially walked/hikes/ran then into the ground, They are comfy and as easy to put on as slippers, thanks to the tri-style laces - which I rarely every need to tighten, as they are elastic. The style is subtle enough to fit all casual situations.

Shoe design has been modified since the last model. Even with a half size larger the shoe is not able to accommodate a slightly wide foot. shoe looks great, but has to go back.

My second pair of these. Wore the first pair out after a couple of years. Good shoe.

As has been the case with all the Merrell's I've purchased over the past few years these fit well and were very comfortable right out of the box. I bought these for hiking and leisure wear. They fit very securely with no heel slip. The taller ankle sides do make it very hard to pull these on, even with the laces fully extended and with light socks. Ultimately, this isn't necessarily a bad thing as it does keep the shoe from slipping once you can finally pull it on.

Great knock around shoe, I'm happy with them. One small set back, bugger to get on in the morning. Arch support could be a little more but not a problem. I really like the style and color, what caught my attention when I first saw them. I would recommend them to a friend.

Great hiking shoe! Very breathable. I live in Phoenix and needed a hiking shoe that would keep my feet cool, while it was over 100 degrees outside. This shoe also has fantastic grip and fits like a glove. The size is perfect, I wear an 11 in mosts brands and the merril 11 is spot on. I also love this she for mountain biking. I do a lot of bike and hikes, and this shoe is the perfect fit. The sole feels great on hikes, while firm enough to not flex on the peddles. The taller design protects your ankles from hitting the cranks. This is my second pair. First pair lasted 4 years, would buy a third.

I bought these shoes to replace a similar shoe that I wore some eight years with hard wear. These are as good. A little more ankle support, if you like that. The comfort level is great, and the look is rugged. Only one small shortcoming. Kind of difficult to get on due to the small opening. After a while you get the hang of it. Highly recommended.

Awesome shoes. This is my 2nd pair. I wore the old ones until they wore out. So comfortable and supportive, and rugged enough for almost anything- yardwork, hiking, motorcycle rides, you name it.

This is the third pair of chameleons I have purchased. I love the fit and how comfortable they are. This latest version, the opening is a little more snug than previous versions.

Happy to see what was the Chameleon stretch 2 return as the prime. I have a pair of 2's and 3's, never felt as comfortable in the 3'. So when I saw the Prime the looked just like my 2's. Ordered a black pair in 9, received in about 3 days. Looked perfect and felt great just a little tight. Zappos did a great job exchanging for 9.5, also bought a pair in granite.love the shoes and service. Only thing I see is that I needed a half size larger then my 2's are. With Zappos awesome service I will be buying the majority of my shoes here. If you like the Chameleon stretch 2, you'll like the prime.

I wanted to try these shoes for quite some time. So happy that I finally bought a pair. These are an incredibly comfortable shoe. Great feel, support, and look. Continue to be impressed with Merrell.

These are the bomb. They look great, fit well and are perfect for those annoying teenagers that insist on that "slacker vibe of not tying shoes when they come undone. I have noticed that Merrell shoes are not lasting as long as they used to. Not sure if its because my teenager is getting rougher on shoes or whether its a quality issue. No matter, I would buy 4 more pair of these if I thought they wouldn't be around. Super sharp looking and my boy loves them.

This will make my year two winter shoe, my Merrell Chameleon's. Best shoe I have ever purchased. I am shopping for a new pair, even though mine look almost new. Love them! I do recommend 100%.

I love that you can just slip your feet in these shoes just like you do slippers. that makes these the best, saves me time and the minute I get them on they just feel cool, secure and cozy.

First pair of prime. They have reinforced the top of the shoe. "Awesome." You will need a shoehorn at first.

Perfect footwear for tropical trail walking and general summertime wear. I had the sandals but found they picked up little stones and such which I kept having to stop and empty out. I kept thinking if the sandal just had a lightweight cover over it and an elastic ankle, it would be awesome. That is basically what this is. My feet are quite wide and at first I was not sure about these but the heel holds firm and the shoe now feels like a second skin. Slip on is incredibly easy but they never feel loose or unsteady while light hiking like ordinary slip ons or oh yeah, those sandals. Once you get the right tension on the elastic laces (another amazing invention) they stay solid. It is actually one lace in a kind of loop, and it tucks nicely under the lacing They are really great ventilation-wise (and my feet sweat a lot, so that is important)and not hot like someone else said. If you want hot, try one of the waterproof models, they do get a mite warm. This shoe is certainly not waterproof. Actually it is a step above a water shoe--it sheds water. I've waded through streams and they dry right out, and don't cause any problems for my feet like wet boots do. Color I got was this super dark green-grey, which I find does not show dirt, wears like iron, goes with jeans or shorts, looks better than a sneaker, I guess, sort of a high-tech vibe. I'm checking out the brown ones but I think I will just stay with these. Sole is typical long-lasting Merrill goodness that has better than most traction and hardly ever gets stuff stuck in it--something genius about that Merrill sole design. I've worn mine about halfway out and it has been over a year of hard 3 season wear. When I am not in the tropics I am in the city and I walk on pavement about 2 miles a day or more routinely. These might not be the most heavily padded shoe made, but I don't mind, I'm not a runner, I don't feel the need for a huge sole.
