I am not one to write reviews but I am one who researches the reviews. I have to make this an exception! This is by far the warmest pair of boots that I have ever purchased!!!I can actually wear only one pair of socks with these. I would give them a 10 if I could!!!

These are so well made and so warm! I love that they make half sizes too, as these big winter boots are even that clunkier when you have to go up a half size. I am a rep for a ski company and spend very long cold days standing at ski resorts setting people up on demo equipment. These are perfect, they elevate you significantly off the snow which is really important in a winter boot. I have the original Joan of Arctic and the new premium Joan of Arctic and as much as I love them they keep you really close to the ground so my feet always end up freezing if I wear them to work in. Not the case with these boots. When you are just standing around its the worst for your feet, and these are perfect for that. Very warm, well made and supportive. Not as fun looking as my other sorels but this is a work boot for me.

Living in the northeast we experience quite a bit of cold, I have yet (after spending hundreds of dollars) found boots that kept my feet warm when we're outside for any length of time. These are the answer! I was outside for 5+ hours in 3ft of snow with 0 degree weather and -10 windchill-- walking and standing, and my feet didn't feel the slightest chill in these boots. I had wool socks on and these, that's it. I love love love love them, and I am an absolute baby about being cold- I can't handle the cold at all. I got a 9, I usually wear 8-9 depending on the shoes, mostly falling into an 8.5. I went up because I have big calves and wanted room for wool socks, they're pretty spacious but I'd order up. I definitely recommend if you can get past the lack of cuteness- embrace the super warm outdoorsy look here ladies! Worth it :)!

I bought these Glacier XT Sorels back in December for a winter trip to Yellowstone. I live in Aspen and own Sorels already but I needed something heavy duty for the temps in Yellowstone! These boots are the best. My feet were never cold the entire trip. I highly recommend these boots to anyone. They run a little large however so keep that in mind when purchasing them.

I had the predecessor to this boot (which is no longer being made) for 30 years until my puppy decided to shred it. This boot is as warm and comfortable as the original. The sole is a bit loftier (it feels like I'm walking on a small platform), which I don't care for as much as the previous version, but I still love the boot. The boot is in no way unstable. It's perfect for up State NY winters!

I got my Glacier Boots in the mail last night and admittedly, I was shell shocked by the size of these boots. THEY'RE HUGE in visible size but not in fit! Don't let that deter you from buying such an AMAZING product. If you are looking for fashion over function, this might not be the boot for you. If you are like me, who really just needed function to combat the 7ft of snow on Boston streets right now, these are the boots for you! Despite the clumsy size (I like sleek and dainty most of the time) the boots are BRILLIANTLY crafted. They are plush on the inside, I can 't help but love the simplicity in the color combo, and while I don't think I'll ever be in -100 degree F temps, I am confident that I would survive based on these boots alone. Can we say TOASTY? Dare I say that I actually think the boots are UNDERPRICED?! For the quality of boot that I just received, I mean, I easily would have paid double for them. When I consider the EXPENSIVE boots I purchased that lasted less than a calendar year because they sprung a leak, I am certain I will NEVER have to buy another boot in my lifetime with these. All in All, I'm a happy camper. Now I can go out and build that snowman my two year old has been begging to build.

The Glacier XT is superior to all the boots I've ever owned!!! The material and construction are of the highest quality. I have wide feet with a high arch and these boots fit perfectly. They are perfect for the snow we've been getting in NY. They have kept me dry and warm through all my shovelling and have a really cushy comfortable sole. The boot comes to right under my knee for great coverage. I'm 5'2". They offer excellent traction. They are bulky and I love them!!!!!

These are the best boots for heavy snow and cold. My feet were warm and toasty, but sweaty, even in sub-zero temps. The boots breath so there is no dampness to spoil the warmth. They fit perfectly and are easy to get on and off. Worth every penny!

I bought this boot during the Christmas season of 2014 I've never been so warm. the day I put them on it was 15 degrees outside here in Missoula Montana it only gets colder at night i stayed warm the whole time I wore them. they have not yet seeped through with water I would recommend them to anybody who wants to stay warm during the winter months and they are good until - 75 or negative 100 you can't beat that. it's fashionable to be warm.

These boots are exactly what I needed for doing chores around the homestead. All the animals get taken care of and my feet stay warm. Also good for winter walks in the woods. Personally don't think they are too heavy, they're heavy duty boots. Only qualm is the elastic top tightener came out of one boot a week in.

I still have my old pair, over 10 years now at least. They really are great boots!! I just wish the new ones inner liner came to the top of the boot like the old ones. Also, the website says these run small and at first I thought it was true and was glad I ordered a size up but now that they are breaking in, they aren't fitting as nice as I'd like unless I wear big socks. I'd tell people to order the right size and wear them in even if they are snug, they'll settle in and fit right soon.

I have owned these boots for years. I love them but I find it annoying that the inner felt liner always comes out when I take them off. Once out, the liner is difficult to put back in without having it fold on itself. Otherwise great boots. Well made and guaranteed to keep your feet warm.

I like these boots. I need them for the cold and snowy midwest winters. I wish they were less clunky.I still have the same pair I bought a few decades ago. They are less cumbersome. I also wish the inner insulated piece had a pull tab to hold onto while I am inserting my foot into the boot. With older hands its hard to hang onto it so it folds in. A holding loop would be very helpful. I used them today to shovel in. I had light socks. They kept my feet warm and dry.I had to order an 8 as they do not come in half sizes. Even though they are a little big it leaves rooms for a bulky sock if I need one. 4 stars for lacking the pull tab on insulated part and no half sizes. Otherwise a 5 star.

They are very well guilt. However they are HUGE! They are like the cast you wear if you break your ankle. I returned them as I don't plan to visit the moon anytime soon.

They are so warm! They are definitely bigger in overall size than I expected but I wear them almost daily, as I live in the mountains, and love them! They tie at the top allows me to snug them around my calf so snow doesn't fall in. My feet stay toasty without being sweaty. I have gotten many compliments on them. Super high quality! I'll have these forever.

These would be great if you were going snow snowmobiling or ice fishing or working as a ski lift operator. But for everyday snow boots they are a bit heavy and clunky. I bought the Sorel Snowlion instead and I am very happy. Definitely size up; I were a 7 1/2-8 shoe and the 9s fit snugly.

I tried on a few of the Sorel boots. These are the widest out of the bunch. I usually take a size 13 in 4E or 6E and for these boots I required a size 15. They fit really well in the foot area but like a few others have mentioned, they are tight in the calf area. I just pull up my pants till they are above the liner then tighten the top string and this makes them comfy in the calf area for me. I only use them for snowblowing and stuff around the yard so for this, they are good.

These are the best boots for the extremely cold winter. I live on a farm and use these boots every day mucking about; plowing the snow; and riding the ATV. I would have rated them "Excellent" except the drawstring on one of the boots snapped.

I bought a pair of Sorel Reserve boots over 10 years ago and love them but they're wearing out and they are no longer made. I thought these might be a good replacement but nope, these are way too heavy...and I don't mind clunky, warm boots. The calf area is tight but the rest of the boots fits. And that liner!!! Trying to get my foot into the boot, the liner kept getting pushed down. It was so uncomfortable. I didn't care for that feature one bit. I want warm boots for dog walking. These may be warm but I don't want this heavy of a boot for what should be an enjoyable stroll. Returned these.

I sized up a full size in these and they fit fine, but these boots are HUGE. I understand that to provide the warmth they claim they have to be bulky. I found it difficult to walk in these and there is absolutely no way a person could drive while wearing them. Although I felt I needed these to walk the dog for the -50F windchill we were experiencing in Chicago, I just didn’t feel like I would be able to actually walk. I would say these boots are best for ice fishing or any sub zero temps where you are standing in one pms e for an extended period of time.

I like chunky boots but these are really bulky so hard to walk in bu super comfortable and cozy. A little disappointed they don't have free shipping/return because these are so heavy so they cost a lot to ship back.

They were very warm, for sure. However, they were so heavy. Each boot must've been 3 lbs each which doesn't sound like much but if I were to walk around in them all day it would've been pretty fatiguing. With lighter boots out on the market that are also warm these were returned.

I will review again once I get the correct size, but I will say that the warning that these run small is inaccurate. I normally wear a size 7, ordered a size 8, and I could easily slip my foot out of them even with tying them as tight as I could get them. Even with measuring my foot before ordering, it seemed like the size up was a good idea, but that's definitely not the case. I now have to order a size 7 and hope for the best. They are comfy though.
