If you're expecting a baby, do yourself a favor and just bit the bullet and get a Little Giraffe blanket. They are gorgeous, silky soft, and well made. My baby loves sucking on hers (particularly the silky bound edges). Truly a luxurious baby blanket.

This is a very soft blanket with nice satin binding. I also purchased the Chenille one and it seemed nice also, but not quite as soft as the Luxe. I don't like the idea that the blankets need to be washed in cold water only and lined dry. Seems like too much work for a busy new parent. I wish I could find one that was like the cozy throws that can be washed in hot water and dryed in the dryer, only in baby/toddler colors, sizes and with the satin binding. That would be a hit!

I received the blue blanket as a hand me down from a collection of extras from a friend of mine, but it was in new condition. As a first time mom and being on the conservative side I wouldn't use this blanket for my newborn or infant because of the heavy weight. However, that's the very reason I really like this blanket because it feels substantial (read durable) and very soft! It's bigger than most blankets so as baby gets older, more in toddler years and up, this will cover little toes as well as be snuggly. So overall, I am fond of this blanket and now I know why it felt so well made, it's not a cheap blanket.
